I completely forgot he had one.  He was there for one strip and then you don't see him anymore.  Or her.  Or it.  Or whatever.

There is some question about it's sex, however:

She. (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=877)

Him. (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1077)

Maybe he died when Hanner's tossed him.

Dora's cat hasn't been in the comics for a while either.

Well, Sven's cat showed up when Wil was talking to Sven:  Sven's Cat, later. (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1189)

the last panel of that comic was fucking adorable

lol, I love the cat in the last panel in that one.

I guess that means it didn't die. Do you think maybe Sven's new haircut scared it away? I like the shorter hair much better, but maybe the cat hates it and has gone into hiding.

Female, as Sven said it first to Faye. Hanners' response to the stomach bug probably crossed out any corrections Faye or Sven were about to make. Plus Hanners had just met the cat.

In 1190 the cat is "the little bitch".

I need to get a life.

That might explain what happened, actually. Maybe Faye took Sven serious and poisoned (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1190) "it."

Also, when was the last time that Mieville (Dora's boy-cat) appeared?

Lives are expensive, complicated, messy, sticky, and often very confusing.  Stay here.  At least you can skip the expensive and sticky parts.

Agreed.  I know, I used to have one.  Exchanged it for this.

I'm a lot happier now.

And Sven's furry baby is probably one of the reasons why I like him.  Anyone who likes furry babies can't be all bad.

Sorry, gotta go snuggle mine.  He's fat and he snores as he purrs, which makes a strange but somehow soothing sound.

Awwwww....

I've got one of those -- she snores and purrs and likes to sleep on my head.  She's not as fat as she used to be, as she's diabetic now, but she's got huge paws and I've had her since she was 4 weeks old, so she's my baby.

On the downside, she creates true horror in the litter box.  I need a better gas mask.

Yup.  Had mine since he was born too, his momma wasn't a very good mommy (75 percent mortality rate from a four-kitten litter, with him being the only survivor), so I had to bottle feed him.  He was fat, even as a kitten.

*Melts with happy memories*

Yep, bottle feeding, the whole thing.  She fit in one hand.  She was one of a litter found in the oil drip pan of a bulldozer (no kidding).  The bulldozer wasn't working, they hauled it in, and found the kittens.

At her biggest she weighed 18 lbs and we called her Le Blob (her name is Ophelia).  She's now down to about 13 lbs, and she's creeping up on 14 years old.  I give her insulin twice a day and she's doing fine for an old lady.

Mine's a fat bastard who likes to sleep on my crotch. He's totally incompetent at hunting, and I walked outside one time to see his sister trying to teach him how to catch a mouse. He failed. :3

I have two cats and they don't get along.  I rescued both from abandonment, so they both follow me around all the time and hate other cats (fighting for food with feral felines... not fucking fun).

Yah, ferals and semi-ferals are hard.  The one we just adopted was about 6 months old, semi-feral, and has had some adjustment problems.  Sometimes he's sweet as can be, other times he's a terror, and hardly a day goes by I don't get a bite or a scratch (usually followed by a head butt and a demand for pets).  But he's buddied up with two of my other cats and seems to be settling down -- SLOWLY...

Well, if you guys are gonna talk about your cats...

I've got one feral and one stray. They're both sweet to me, but they don't get along with each other. The feral (older girl) picks on the stray (younger girl).

I've had Kitty (http://i39.tinypic.com/s6lks9.jpg) (feral) since she was about 2 months old, and she's about 4 years old now. Her colony was living behind my parent's old boat lot, and when the city decided to mow it down we found homes for all the cats. Kitty grabbed on to my jacket and wouldn't let go, so I took her home with me (attached to my jacket the entire time). She thinks I'm dad, and won't really socialize with anyone else. She's my little fur-baby :p

Kallie (http://i39.tinypic.com/234jkj.jpg) (stray) is only about 1 1/2 years old, and she was living in the abandoned house next door to me. I think someone abandoned her there, because she isn't feral - she has no killer instinct. I brought her in about a year ago because she was limping around from falling off of things. She's safe in my house now, but she still runs into walls and falls off the bed. She also has allergies, so she sneezes and breaths heavy a lot, and also snores like an engine revving up. She is quirky charm in kitten form, and pretty much just chases her tail and sleeps on everyone who comes in the house. She's a snuggle-slut like Sven's cat, 'cept way cuter :p

*added pictures because I am that lame.

I know, talking about one's cat on the internet is such a cliche, but as someone once pointed out, cliches exist because that's what people do commonly.

Cat pictures are not lame.  Kitty porn (endless pictures of one's cat) is a little scary.  Talking about your pet is, you know, sort of normal.

OK, here's a question -- why is talking about something you love, something about which you are vulnerable, considered such a bad thing?  Is it that school yard tribe instinct that someone has a weakness, so everyone else should throw rocks and pretend they don't have any weaknesses?  I don't quite get it, but I've seen it -- on some forums, if you display something that looks like a tender human emotion, there will be a group ready to descend on you, self appointed to tell you how [enter negative adjective of your choice] you are.

Anyway, Shawn, I enjoyed your cat stories.  All of my cats are hard luck cases of one type or another.  I'm certain that there's an invisible cat sign somewhere around my house (like the old hobo code) that tells other cats "SUCKERS LIVE HERE".  I thought I'd left it behind when I moved, but apparently I packed it up without knowing it.  We hadn't been here six months before 2 strays started hanging around and looking cute and hungry at me.

I know the feeling.  I'm integrating a stray into my household.  And actually, she's better behaved than one of our more "high spirited" cats who was born here.

She's very timid though...but when she comes, she likes to snuggle my face.

She and He Fat don't get along so well, though.  But at least they tolerate the same bed: Mine.

Go figure.

Oh yeah, Mr. S, TOTALLY up on the "Cats in the Bed" thing.  We have a night time cycle.  Certain cats want to visit just before we go to sleep.  Ophelia, when she's in the mood, sleeps between our pillows, or, occasionally, draped across my head.  The colder it is, the more cats in the bed.  I've awakened up completely pinned in place.

Whenever I'm sick and staying in bed, I have a new kitty "sitting" with me every couple of hours.

Cats is weird, but I love 'em.  I miss having a dog, though.

Cats rule and dogs drool!

Yeah, my cats love bedding.  Babygirl (http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i131/surgoshan/IMG_0008.jpg) is more tolerant of my nighttime movement and does her best to stay curled with my arm.  Sappho (http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i131/surgoshan/IMG_0004.jpg) is less tolerant and thus ends up down by my feet, which don't move as much.

Until I start hopping out of bed to hit snooze.  Then Babygirl vanishes, and Sappho starts playing; she runs in and out, jumps on the windowsill, parks herself in front of the alarm clock.

Ah, kitties.  They get along much better than they did when I first found Sappho in the parking lot, but there's still a great deal of growling.
