13 people were recently chosen to take part in a Reality Television competition called “Ghost Town.” A simple concept, the contestants had to live in a formally uninhabited town forced to fend for themselves in terms of food, water and entertainment. If they could no longer cope they were sent home, either the last person remaining or any that chose to stay for the full 12 weeks would be declared the winner or winners and recive their share of the two million dollars prize money.
With all methods of contacting the outside world confiscated the players were flown into a small dilapidated town, completely in accessible except by air. They were met by a large man with a ponytail, who introduced himself as Axerton, the shows host, and camera man (the company making Ghost Town figured why pay for two men to do a job that could be done by one) He then brandished a two way radio, explaining that it was the only contact they had with anyone outside of the town, and it was only to contact the helicopter pilot when one of the players decided they wanted to throw in the towel. He then suggested that they explore their surroundings, doing their best to behave as if the camera wasn’t there.
It looked as if half the town had been destroyed by fire. What was still standing wasn’t in much better condition - a couple of dozen small wooden shacks that had been clearly patched up recently so as to be fit for human habitation. An odd, rotted out, platform stood in the center of the town, perhaps they liked public performances in this here. A call from one of the group caused everyone to gather round a small sign, near what had clearly once been a path. It read ‘Hammel – population…’ but the number was unreadable. Axerton smiled and pulled a thick black marker from his pocket and drew ‘13’ over where the previous number had been
“This will make for a nice promotional shot.”
At this point one of the group spoke up, “What happened here? Why is this town abandoned”
Axerton gave another smile “Well, there’s a story that gets passed around about creatures of darkness possessing members of the village and causing it to tear it self apart. Werewolves or some such. Not that I believe it, the fire that burned half the buildings down seems to match the time of that the town died, doesn’t take a genius to figure that out.”
Slowly the group dispersed some went to explore the surrounding forests. No one would be able to tell, but when three of them came back, a change had come over them. After an uneventful first day - where everyone ate what little food they had been allowed to bring with them – the contestants each chose one of the abandoned homes and went to sleep. No one would ever confess it later, but everyone had vivid dreams of wolves howling that night.
The next day could have been just as uneventful as the previous, if it weren’t for the fact that they found Axerton dead was nowhere to be seen. The players searched for him but all privately thought that this was some sort of surprise thought up to make the show interesting. Before long a shout brought everyone running to the platform they had seen the previous day, on which had been found one of the cameras, scratched into the side were the words “press play”
The picture was too dark to make out, but they could hear quite clearly a growling from somewhere behind the camera and in front of it, Axerton was whimpering and muttering gibberish. It continued like this for almost a minute, until something moved in the shadows of the small screen and Axerton let out a terrible scream which was cut off suddenly. Everyone watching stood stunned the tape still playing when suddenly a wolf’s head appeared on the screen, the two way in its mouth. It lingered there for a moment before biting down and crushing the radio in its jaws.
Everyone looked up at the platform, all realizing at once what it had been used for, and coming to the conclusion that it would have to be used for the same purpose again now.

Standing atop a rock, Thomas Edison took a puff from his pipe and squinted at the assembled mass. Gripping the smoking article like some kind of tiny pointy weapon thing, he pointed it accusingly at Avec.
"It's them, I say! Avec! They're the hairy one in the midnight moon, with the teeth and the claws and the gnashing and gnawing and the howling and what not."

By midday the gallows are rebuilt - using a length of rope found in Avec's luggage. Then all there is left to do is to decide who should be hung from it. At first everyone seemed to be reluctant to carry out their plan, but the memory of what they saw on the tape strengthens their resolve. Finnally the silence is broken as Zombiedude closes his eyes and points blindly - the accusing finger pointing straight to Avec. releived that the decision has been made for them five other members of the group follow Zombie's lead and, an hour before sunset the desion is made. Avec is gaged and his hands tied as he is led up the decomposing steps. His own rope is placed around his neck and a makeshift hood covers his tear streaked face. After a moment the trapdoor is released. Avec drops half an inch before before the hinges jam, from underneath the hood come indistict noises. the others look at each other uncomfortably. None of them want to watch a man die like this. After what seems an age someone finally steps forward to release Avec, but the impact of his footstep is enough to jolt the rusted hinges, and the door drops all the way. Avec falls and his neck snaps. The remaing twelve stare at the hanging corpse, but it makes not the slightest movement or change. Everyone is confused, does this mean that they have hung an inocent man, or do werewolves not resume their normal form when they die? Filled with these thoughts they slowly disperse, each privately preying not to be woken in the middle of the night by the howling of wolves at their door.

As it turns out, no one is woken during the night by the howling of wolves. Zombiedude however is woken up by what feels like a warm breeze on the back of his neck. Half asleep he flails as if to nock away the annoying wind. His hand slaps something hard, and the breeze gets an odd growling tone to it. Still zombiedude sleeps on absorbing the growls into his dreams. He continues to sleep even as the bed covers are pulled off him; only waking up when something with a grip like a bear trap fastens around his ankle. Letting out a shout of pain which instantly becomes a scream of terror when he sees the oversized wolf that is dragging him off the bed. Zombiedude throws his arms out desperately searching for anything to grip onto, but his hands find nothing to get a purchase on, until he has been pulled completely off the bed, when his hand finds a thin, vertical, slightly hair pole, which turns out to be the foreleg off another wolf. This second wolf lunges at Zombiedude's outstretched arm, biting down on the wrist and begins to pull one way, while the other with an already well established grip on his ankle pulls the other. The tormented screams last for more than quarter of an hour as the rest of the villagers lie frozen with fear in their own beds.

It takes the psudo village half the morning to draw gain the courage to go inside the house. What they found was not pretty. Zombiedude was spread in a thin layer around bedroom, the floor had been painted with his blood - a mixture of human and wolfish footprints could be made out, but what was holding most peoples attention was the opposite wall where - yet again in blood- were the words: YOU'LL BE NEXT!
The group sat around the remade gallows, stunned, until midday. Finally Jace - naked from the waist down, having taken off his pants after leaning in some of Zombiedude's blood (why he couldn't put on another pair of pants, no one was quite sure) - stood up and pointed to Objects inside Clouds saying simply "Him." This seemed to burst a dam, suddenly accusations were flying everywhere, no clear direction. By the end of the day four votes were enough to condemn a man to the rope.
The collective eyes of the crowd settled on Blanktom - not everyone was happy with the verdict - but their own twisted version of justice had spoken. Fear filled Blanktoms eyes "No, you're making a mistake!" he said feverishly, pushing his nearest accuser back. The group surrounded him, as he began to take wild swings at people, but before long someone caught him a sharp blow to the side of the head and he collapsed, out cold.
By the time he awoke he was already gagged and being lifted bodily upwards towards the hanging rope. Unable to do anything to prevent it the rope was slipped around his neck and the bag placed over his head. The group stood back as the freshly oiled trapdoor was released. His neck snapped with a loud report and the muffled shouts of protest stopped instantly. The waiting eyes could have burned holes in the hanging body as everyone watched to see the potential transformation - but none was forthcoming. One by one the watchers turned and walked slowly back to their makeshift homes. There was yet another burden resting on their minds: they were running out of food, well all of them except those whose hunger was for human flesh.

IronOxide had chosen not to stay in his appointed house that night, there was something slightly creepy about it, and as the attack on Zombiedude had proven, locked doors wouldn't prove much defence against what ever was attacking them. Instead he had chosen to explore the forest that encircled the small town. Before long however the days stress of the days events combined with his insubstantial rations took their toll and, finding the thickest and driest patch of grass he could he lay down and the stars above lulled him into a surprisingly deep sleep. He awoke sharply, sitting bolt upright he saw pacing towards him a wolf, massive, its silver fur rippling in the moonlight. With a speed that he never would have previously credited himself for IronOxide was on his feet and running, the wolf giving chase. He weaved through the trees, changing direction often enough that the wolf and any of it's pack that might have joined the hunt wouldn't have a chance to lunge at him. He could hear its breathing and its swift foot falls behind him, constantly getting closer, until suddenly he heard what was undoubtedly a yelp of pain. As he ran he turned his head to see what had become of his pursuer - The wolf was standing, perfectly fine, the yelp had been a fake. Realising this he returned to facing ahead, just in time to crash face first into a thick tree.
As he lay dazed on the ground, blood flowing from his clearly broken nose the wolf paced up to him, and bending down, licked the blood from his face. IronOxide tried to get to his feet, but no sooner had he planted his hands on the ground to push himself up than the wolf bit down hard on his left wrist - a nasty crack signalled the breaking bone. The wolf raised a paw and with unnaturally sharp claws scratched something into the helpless man's forehead, then with two swipes it ripped away the flesh from IronOxide's inner arms blood gushed out of the exposed wrists as the wolf took hold of IO's collar and dragged him back to the village. Before long it was an unconscious man being dragged - due to loss of blood.
The next morning the body was found propped up against the town signpost the words 'Stay out of the forest' etched into his forehead

The body of IronOxide had only just been found when Dazed cried out "IronOxide accused Thomas Eddison, and now he's dead, Eddison's the werewolf!" Thomas Eddison spluttered in shock, and tried to protest, but he never stood a chance the surviving would-be contestants all echoed Dazed's oppinion, and before he knew what was happening Thomas Eddison was being marched back through the town to the platform.
"Come-on guys, jokes over," he said feebely
"You think this is funny?" replied someone in the crowd
"No, no I didn't mean..." the condemed man pleaded as he was lead up the stairs, but no amount of begging would change their minds and like Avec and Blanktom before him the noose and bag were placed over his head and the trapdoor fell.
There was an odd fealing in the group, all the previous hangings had taken place at dusk but it had barely gone noon and already a body was swinging gently in the breeze. Slowly the collective hunger of the group seemed to win them over and they decided that they would should go and find something in the way of food.
The rest of the day past univentfully and before they knew it, night was upon them.

weird, I could have sworn I updated this thread
midnight ticked past and three dark shapes emerged from seperate houses and made their way to the middle of the abandoned village. Once there they had what could generally be described as a conversation, or maybe an argument - except that traditionally either of these contain words, not a series of growls and low barks. Eventually the seem to come to an arrangment and togeather moved off through the night. When the reached their selected house one of the wolves broke away from the other two, going around the back of the house to the only window, which it leapt through lightly. however instead of the empty kitchen that it had been expecting, there was figure sitting at the table in the dark. Before the broken glass had even stopped tinkeling on the floor the occupant to the house was out of the chair and opening the door. A second wolf waiting right outside was collected by the opening door and fell dazed as the man ran out into the barely lit street. The third wolf streaked out of the shadows and leapt at the running man, jumping to throat hight and snapping it's jaws. Objects inside Clouds fell dead, his throat torn out. The wolves gathered round the dead body and let out a howl, one by one. A warning to the four remaining humans.

The events that had taken place in the main street last night semmed to have infused the few remaining villiagers with a recless bloodlust. As soon as dawn broke Spluff walked out of his house declaring at the top of his voice "Blue Kitty is a werewolf!" Several groogy eyed villagers stumbled out of their houses, wondering what was being shouted about. However once they had gained enough of their faculties to figure out what was being said everyone quickly joined in, occasionally adding - I always thought he was suspicious - or something similar. The half a dozen strong mob advanced on Blue kitty, ensuring there was no escape. The accused werewolf tried to put up a fight but was quickly beaten into subission by the crowd. Wrists bound and mouth gagged he was marched towards platform. Six pairs of eyes watched as the noose was placed over his head, but before the trapdoor could be realeased something distracted their attention. Jimmy the Squid had burst out laughing, he looked to Dazed, then Dire bacterium, who held their straight faces for a few seconds before joining in the laughter. PantsFTW, Aztex and Spluff stared at them dumbfounded. Dazed was the first to gain controll of himself, he stood up straight and gave the other three a broad grin. A broad girn that grew broader as his nose and mouth elogated into a muzzel then within another second he was down on all fours and completely transformed into a wolf. The wolf turned to to its two humaniod friends and growled an invitation to them. Two seconds later three wolves were standing were Jimmy, Dazed and Dire had been before. Pants, Aztex and Spluff stared at the three wolves, tyring to back away without seeming to move. The werewolves let it go on for a second before each choocing a target and leaping towards them. Blue kitty was still up on the platform, standing with the noose around his neck. The three other humans turned and bolted. Aztex was taken down before he had taken two steps, the jaws fastened around the back of the his neck and with a swift yank ripped the top of his spine out of his neck. Spluff didn't make it much further before his calf was bitten clean through. Pants had more of a head start and managed to make it back to his own house. Without really knowing why he headed straight for the lowest draw and from underneath his jumpers he pulled out his medical kit before the third wolf burst through the door, ripping it clean off it's hinges. instinct took over and Jace stood up and was tackeled backwards by the wolf, the two of them fell backwards and hit the rotten wooden which collapsed under the onslaught. Jace stuggled out of underneath the stunned wolf and got to his feet, only to be hit again from behind, this time however he was not so fortunate and was impaled on the recently shattered wall. The third wolf returned to the gallows, where its bretheren were waiting on the platform behind BK. As one the wolves grinned evily at each other before letting out one howl in unison. Terrified and blinded by the hood Bluekitty ran foward off the platform, sucsefully strangeling himself. The three wolves transformed back into their human forms, laughing as they emerged. They laughed for four solid minutes before Jimmy stopped and said "...So, what happens now?"

Actually I thought the game had much further to go. I miscounted and thought we'd have another night and day phase to get through in which case I thought it would help if we made it seem like we weren't working/voting together.

Man, I've been checking the forums for new updates to this for days. Good show all around.
Also, perhaps I missed it, but for someone who hasn't played a derivation of this game in a long time: what exactly were the functions of the cop and the doctor again?
Also I would be really happy if I could get in on this. But there seem to be a lot of people who want the same, so good luck choosing.

I'm going to have to say 'pass' on the next round. Firstly cos this round felt particularly uninspired, previously wanted to update the thread, and was getting impatiant with people who weren't voting - but this time I've found myself saying stuff like "urgh I suppose I better update the werewolves thread" particularly odd considering how short a game it was. Secondly my ideas bucket seems to be somewhat dry, there's only so many ways you can put "they voted, player was hanged, players go to sleep" in an interesting way, hell I was even strugeling to come up with interesting werewolf attacks. And 3 - past experience has shown that the 'second' game never goes as well as the first - everyone gets excited by the concept so you end up with a larger group which means that people get board and the game doesn't get finished.
That being said if anyone wants to take over the running of the game, feel free and good luck to you.

Normally the cop would 'investigate' people at night to find out if they were wolves or not, and the doctor would pick one person to protect each night and if they were attacked by wolves the doctor would save them. As an observer you wouldn't see any evidence of their actions, unless the doctor saved someone, because everything they do is through PMing me.
Neither of them had any effect in this game - the cop (blanktom) was killed too early (the only person he had a chance to investigate was killed by wolves the same night) and the doctor (Jace) never got the lucky guess - protecting Thomas Eddison, Jimmy and himself in that order
