So I just bought Loverboy's Get Lucky LP on a whim for $2 out of a cheapie used records crate outside Bleecker Records.
It's in pristine quality and barely has a scratch on it. Also I really just bought it to have Workin' for the Weekend on vinyl but the rest of the album is surprisingly well-written.
No pictures of my own, but I just ordered this in vinyl as a random impulse buy. In retrospect, this probably wasn't the best idea, but oh well. The album art is pretty enough and it's probably for a good cause.

Speaking of which ... I bought a Testament CD, Live in Eindhoven ... well, it's some great Thrash.
Were all the copies of Monoliths and Dimensions that price or you just find one priced wrong?
For $10 I'm willing to give that one a go.
Guys should I pre-order the new Kidcrash? Should I get it on clear vinyl with black bubbles, transparent yellow, or transparent red?
Wovenhand - Ten StonesHuh, I thought he was just a local guy. Guess not.

The Broadways cover art is nothing short of wonderful
"Scream, Dracula, Scream!" by Rockets from the Crypt.
Just got two double CD sets: John Williams doing guitar concertos (Vivaldi is the only name I recognize, the rest are all like Villa-Lobos and Castelnuovo-Tedesco),
Brand new, guys:

Khanate spinoff!
The Field - "From Here We Go Sublime"
Did I hear Khanate?!... Anything related to Khanate can interest me, what's the name of that band?
Godflesh, good stuff, I just got Streetcleaner for a while ago, Hoq is Slavestate? I'm gonna buy it soon :)
The name of that band is Gnaw (http://www.myspace.com/gnaw666) and the album is out on Conspiracy Records (http://www.conspiracyrecords.com/store/store_detail.php?id=7373). I still can't bealive how heavy this thing is. The first song literally made me jump out of my seat and try to find the volume knob.
Here (http://brainwashed.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7418&Itemid=64) is a pretty good review
you can start it anywhere on the record, and the needle goes all over the place. start it on the inside, it's on the outside in like a minute, then back to the inside, then to the middle... it's insane. if you slightly bump the turntable, it completely changes speeds and locations. how this isn't a huge deal within musical history overall is beyond me. basically it does re-mixes of its self forever and ever and will NEVER sound the same twice. limited to 300, there's nothing like it.
just found out that banquet records are gonna be the official P+P distro in the UK, so i'll be checking back with them in a week or so to see if they've got AWS and cheap girls' new ones in stock yet.
ooh, that'll be awesome! apparently they're recording with J. Robbins too!!!
although i gotta say i am fucked off at so many of my favourite bands joining P+P. the whole anti-cd thing is annoying. even if they include a cd in the vinyl, there's still the whole massive shipping costs, bulky packaging etc. to deal with.
Just acquired Islands - Vapours and Frank Turner - Poetry of the Deed! Both for free! Awesome! But then you didn't purchase them.
Getting rid of CDs is just the absolute epitome of stupid. MUCH better to do as Constellation Records does and reward you for purchasing the more expensive vinyl by including the CD version with it. Vinyl is great as a fetish object, or for those that prefer the sound. However, the vast majority have much more use for a musical object that can be used in a large variety of portable devices, and can easily have the music contained within ripped to a computer. Vinyl does neither of these things.

Seeing as this is the closest thing to a music purchasing thread, I've been looking for reliable websites to get vintage vinyls. I'm trying to look beyond Ebay. Specifically, I've been dying to get a solid Ink Spots record.
I just ordered the following:
Vinyl:
"Nervous Breakdown" - Black Flag
"Jealous Again" - Black Flag

Why do you have to do this to me? It's like records stores know my record player is broke and I can't afford to fix it, or afford any records for that matter.
Where did you order these from, anyway?
Colossal! You can't really tell by the picture, but the vinyl is a really pretty wine colour.

I'm scared to turn it up further.
HEY MOTHERFUCKERS, SEE THOSE? I JUST GOT THOSE
At a quarter volume, it is way louder than my old dildo speakers. At third volume, it's loud enough to actually feel like I'm sitting next to someone playing a double drum set. At half volume it starts vibrating shit off my shelves. I'm scared to turn it up further.
Yeah, I've heard many coments about the album being quite difficult to get into. But I'll take the challenge.
But yeah.. No one has ever told me why the album is "weird"... Could you explain that to me? :-)
I won a circa93 Boredoms poster promoting Pop Tatari on Ebay the other day. pics when it comes in! also i will take pix of the Jesus Lizard remasters on wax, i think i got one or two of those for xmas.

Misereatur:
Good pick on the Godflesh. Timely too, considering they reunion show they'll be playing at Hellfest this year. Her's hoping it lead to a new album/wider touring schedule. I was supposed to see thme open for Skinny Puppy in the 90s, but there were some...uh...issues with them getting into Canada.

Thanks! I'm just starting to dip my toes into jazz, and (as typical) I'm beginning with the non-traditional forms: free jazz, Davis' electric period, John Zorn's omnivorous revisions...
guess who found Big Black's The Model/He's A Whore single on vinyl this week?

How is the new Wintersleep? Haven't had a chance to give it a listen yet.
Oh man, No Idea are awesome - i've done about four orders in the last month or two from those guys, and i'll hopefully be putting in another for the new CDs by Gaslight Anthem and Gatorface, and an old J Church CD once i get paid tomorrow. they threw in a free extra CD with the last coupla orders i did too!
I also have en route the new Dopamines album on clear green vinyl with black swirls. Highly suggest you guys give it a listen if you like ze pop-punk.
So just to clarify for those of you that weren't at Ghostfest and have heard various rumours, The Arusha Accord are not splitting up. We are going on a long break as of after Brutal Assault festival so we can go and pursue other areas of our lives that we haven't had the chance to do whilst being skint playing tech metal! We have started writing again though and we will be back when the time is right.
oh for fuck's sake, really?! just when i thought i'd found a band that could replace that sikth-shaped whole in my life!? goddammit!!!
i'll definitely be picking up the full-length though. heard a few songs off of it on youtube and it all seems pretty solid.
Si Monumentum Requires, CircumspiceCongratulations... That album is fucking creepy. I also like that it's very long... It's like going to church, a very scary one.

Damn, I wish all the Geogaddi vinyl on eBay wasn't so expensive. I find it kind of odd that everyone puts set prices for most Boards of Canada vinyl - don't people usually auction that kind of thing?Rule #1 of vinyl hunting: Ebay is your last resort.

Anyone any experience with shipping overseas with Economy Air Mail? I'm really considering getting this LP of Throbbing Gristle's Heathen Earth, but it ships from Japan. I think it's worth it, though - second press and pretty good condition, and it's around 60 dollars with shipping. It's just that that's the best shipping option they have, and I'm not convinced it's safe.

I have once or twice, generally prefer EMS but sometimes people won't offer it. I've never had any packages lost or damaged, so in my experience it's been fine.

Shake the Sheets - Ted Leo and The Pharmacists
meh
Yeah, I was just about to say something to that extent. I can see why a great deal of people prefer The Tyranny of Distance, but Shake the Sheets is still a great album.
We wanted to let you know that our supplier for the Dropkick Murphys - Going Out In Style (180 Gram White Vinyl With Bonus CD Of Album) LP has informed us that there has been a delay in production. The release date for the album has been moved to April 5th. We will let you know if there are any other changes. Thanks for your patience.
So yesterday was Record Store Day.
Mr. Doctor I want that Nadja album
I love Ion D, but man, Minus the Herd is a terrible record.
