Yet another game that is only fun to play whilst drunk.

Because I want to sing Taxman (god damn it) in front of all of my friends and sound like total shit this game is like a complete godsend.

Supposedly it has some of the Beatles unreleased stuff in it.

There are wose bands it could be focused on, I guess.

(Coming soon : Guitar Hero : MCR!  SEE:  Activison hungering for consumer cock to suck!)

Supposedly there will be support for multiple microphones and vocal harmony.

That would make me want it.

I am massively unready to get pumped.  It's just not something I ever want to partake in.

That said, this seems like it'll be a pretty fun game.

Also: the guy in the comments saying that the Rock Band brand will be devalued by being associated with one of the biggest bands in history has got to be what, 12 maybe?

Either that or he's framing it the other way, and underestimating the pull of this sort of game and the reach it'll have to bring increased enthusiasm for the Beatles.

Maybe this is just because I'm a Beatles fan but I might actually finally have to buy Rock Band. And that's all I'm going to say because I am really a major Beatles fan, like, I love the Beatles, shit I even liked the songs Ringo wrote, perhaps even a couple from his terrible solo career.

Shit man, but do they have enough hits to even make a Rock Band game? I mean, they only had like 60 or 70. They'll have to do this by album man, fucking sweeeet.

Fuck the Stones.

Edit: Yeah I saw that too est. Fucking kids these days, don't know who the most important band of all freaking time is.

The fact that it has multiple mike support simultaneously thrills me and terrifies me because you know "Because" will be in there as a result.

And it will kick my ass.
Many many times.

btw, Boro_Bandito, Rock Band 2 clocked in at 84 so maybe they'll make it extra long and add some of the lesser-known stuff. (I'm especially confused as to why nothing from "Let it Be" is making the cut)

They are probably leaving some good stuff for a DLC pack or two?

I was actually being sarcastic with the numbers, since the Beatles just have an absolute crazy number of hits. Guitar Hero managed to make games for both Metallica and Aerosmith with some padding from their influences, I'm not worried at all about this game. Though I really hope they include Paperback Writer. Where on that page does it have a list of songs that they are including that you seem to be referencing?

Because it was easily the weakest album and Across The Universe doesn't have a bass or drum track in it?

Let It Be was great.

I am just saying it was the weakest album.  Basically all the Beatles records were quality.  They were The Beatles.

i might rent it. I'll only buy it if there's some good drumming songs.

Ringo invented the blastbeat you know.

Well "Because" was just me going off the fact that they're supporting three vocalists at once (but it also doesn't have much of an instrumental track), it would make sense to include it.
This site (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/57514 (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/57514)) states that the albums start with "Please Please Me" and end with "Abbey Road". (You can also just check the wikpedia sources, almost all of them say something to that effect.

And yes it was a weak Beatles Album, but Let it Be (the song) is probably one of their biggest hits. It just seems like they'd want to add it.
Plus it's their final album. Of the other "band themed" rhythm games released, both the bands are still together. The Beatles are long gone. Harmonix has a story with a definite end to tell, unlike other rhythm games (unless you count the "story" in GH:WT and GH3, but I really don't). I'd think they'd capitalize on that and maybe end the game with the end of the Beatles story.
But that's what I think would be cool, and Harmonix has certainly demonstrated they know how to make a good game, so I'm not one to complain.

songs don't have to be really really fast to be fun and interesting. some of my favorite songs are pretty slow. (well, comparatively...)

Oh god... I am terrified too, but that is just because that song is creepy. Not as creepy as when Alice Cooper sings it, but I was listening to Abbey Road as I fell asleep, and after that song, I could not go to sleep for another couple of hours.

In my heart this thread is called "Oh hello there are you ready to be heart-broken?" and it's about Rock Band: Lloyd Cole & the Commotions.

HO-LEE SHIT, DUDES (http://www.thebeatlesrockband.com/trailer.php)

Ok, so I haven't really listened to The Beatles in forever but this game looks like it will be awesome. Three-part harmonies? Fuck yes.

Also, take a look at this:

If only Dischord Records would allow "Rock Band: Fugazi", then I'd have another use for that Rickenbacker...

Clever trailer!  They even added the ring from Help! in there.

It would have been sweet if they made one of John's or George's Casinos into a controller, though.

Guys, guys.

If you are dreaming of rock band/guitar hero with your favorite band, get Frets On Fire (http://fretsonfire.sourceforge.net/), get somebody to make the songs for you, plug in your wireless USB guitar hero Guitar, and rock the hell out of that shit.

This is what I do (minus the guitar, I'm still waiting to get money for one of those, but the keyboard is good enough), and it's seriously fun to play guitar hero with songs I know would never get released by any game company. For now, the count of awesome death metal music for Guitar Hero is one In Flames song. This makes shit 100 times better.

HO-LEE SHIT, DUDES (v.2) (http://www.thebeatlesrockband.com/cinematic.php)

Uh huhh, with this opening cinematic, I may just have to turn the game off so I can watch it over and over again!

Any game that started with that intro would instantly be my favorite game ever.

I don't even care how it plays or if it's just a black screen saying "GO FUCK YOURSELF" and I paid $200 for it.

That's beautiful.

When they got to the Sgt. Peppers stage and did the "parachuting with umbrellas off the end of the escalator" bit, did anyone else think "Hmm, makes me want to go play Lemmings"?

Honestly I can't see this being anywhere near as fun as GH: Metallica. My dislike of the Beatles notwithstanding, the idea of playing heaps of mid paced 60's pop/rock tunes on Guitar Hero or Rock Band seems incredibly dull.

That's standard for Rock Band guitar controllers.

With the release of the game approaching and the setlist being completely revealed, thread necromancing was in order.

Any thoughts about the playlist or Harmonix decision to have deam sequences for when the Beatles were a studio band?

So this is out now and I have it and it's spectacular. I can't count how many mistakes I made whilst playing on account of I was paying too much attention to the backdrop video because it was that eye-catching and beautiful.

Yeah, I have it for the wii, while not as pretty as the 360/ps3, it plays the same, and damn if it isn't the most fun I've ever had 5-starring with plastic frets.
I guess it has to do with being able to half-ass portray my favorite band since I was 4, listening to my dad's old 45s and LPs with my grandparents.

Anybody want to play online? I'm starting a new job on Monday, but I will be home, able to play after 5 or so. PM me if so...
