Title: Manhattan: 1955
Post by: Tyler on 07 May 2009, 15:48
In the theme of Werewolves,

I present to you: West Side Story: Gang Wars! Tension has been building between the Sharks and Jets for some time, and it seems that the entire neighborhood is about to be pulled into all out gang warfare. Can the justice system work fast enough to protect its citizens, or will this end in tragedy.

Roles:

Sharks - Objective is to wipe out the Jets and enough citizens to guarantee supremacy. Identities are secret to anyone but other Sharks.
Jets - Objective is to wipe out the Sharks and enough citizens to guarantee supremacy. Identities are secret to anyone but other Jets
Citizens - Objective is to find and execute the entirety of both gangs.
The Lovers - One in each gang. May not reveal their roles to anyone but eachother. Objective is to be the last two standing. If one is killed, the other dies. May share opposing gang identities with each other, but not directly with other gang members.

Depending on the number of sign ups, possibly more specialty roles (Detective, etc)

Gameplay:
Each night session, each gang chooses a target for a hit. In the day session, the victims are revealed, and everyone (citizens, jets, sharks) nominates two people to prosecute. The two chosen are put to death, and their true allegiances are shown. Continues til we have a winner.

Victory Conditions:
Citizens - all Sharks and Jets put to death
Jets - all Sharks killed and as many Jets still alive as citizens
Sharks - all Jets killed and as many Sharks still alive as citizens
The Lovers - No other remaining Jets or Sharks, and only 2 other citizens left

Feel free to throw some suggestions my way on improvements and such. Otherwise, sign up if you are game, and prepare for carnage to the lovely tunes of Leonard Bernstein.

AIDS was first recognized by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 1981 and its cause, HIV, identified in the early 1980s.

Title: Re: Manhattan: 1955

In the sweet spring air, clamor was heard in the night. Coordinated rhythmic footwork and snapping only meant trouble in the city. Two woodwind shrills in music could only mean there would be hell to find in the morning. The first rays of the sun revealed the body of Patrick in a dumpster, stabbed repeatedly. A few hours later, the corpse of Khar was seen floating in the East River. Someone has to pay for these crimes, but who?

Everyone, it is time to put two people to justice. Name your suspects! The two with the highest accusations against them will be dealt with swiftly.

My fellow citizens...

You will notice that through the course of these accusations, Avec has done NOTHING to prove his innocence. Be not swayed, gentle villagers, by his callous and cynical plays on your heartstrings. Any man who would plead his cause by exploiting the very real, very tragic suffering of those poor doggies is a ruthless bastard indeed.

Already there is a movement calling for his blood...those of you who are undecided, I urge you...for the good of our town...let not this ruffian, this filth plague our streets any longer. Avec must pay for his crimes. Hang him, burn him at the stake, have him drawn and quartered if we must, but DO NOT SPARE HIM HIS LIFE!

If we are to rid ourselves of this cancerous infiltration of...I shudder to say it...gangsters...then we must be swift and unwavering in our weilding the sword of justice.

I remain but a humble servant,

Will

Ah. It seems I misunderstood the voting system. Well since I only voted once I shall put my other vote toward Dollface. At first I hesitated, thinking perhaps his adventures in the realms of inebriation had granted him some rudimentary precognitive abilities. Still, his preternatural accuracy damns him. Let us not hesitate to show these rhythmically-inclined menaces that our community will not tolerate their taint.

The trial was just for show, passion ruling the day. The people wanted blood, and blood they got. Dollface and Avec were sent to the chair, and fried like baked potatoes. However, it seems Avec was quite innocent. An alibi that came too late exonerated him. A citizen was killed. Dollface, however, was a Shark through and through. Some justice was served in the end.

Tonight, its certain there will be evil deeds done. No good deed goes unpunished.

Blue Kitty was up late. He knew he should be off the streets by now, but his 'meetings' took longer than expected. Then he heard drawing near the clarion call of his doom:

"When you're a Jet,
You're a Jet all the way
From your first cigarette
To your last dyin' day.
When you're a Jet,
Let 'em do what they can.
You got brothers around,
You're a family man! "

He was found the next morning downtown. And uptown. The Jets have made clear they will not be trifled with. But they were not alone last night. It was not until Sir Juggles failed to show for work that someone checked his apartment. It took six officers to finally clear the dogs off what remained of the body.

Two more dead. Justice needs to be done, swiftly, before the bloodbath continues. Citizens of New York, name your next two suspects.

This coming from one of the mob who cried for Avec's innocent blood!

And Sam, why, if I may ask, was your leg broken? It may be an alibi for last night's murder, but hardly one that covers the murder of Patrick, or of Khar - who was found floating in the East River. And how does the East River flow? From uptown to downtown I tell you! I am not convinced by this feeble attempt at an excuse.

Yayniall  and Ledhendrix did not vote for Dollface last round. I'm just sayin'.

Hrm. This post says a lot, doesn't it.

Why is Iron Oxide calling out against two people who didn't vote for Dollface? Dollface, in death, was revealed to be a Shark. So, looking at this logically, I believe Iron Oxide is trying to point out to us that it is likely for them to be Sharks as well. After all, why would anyone but his fellow gang members not vote against him, right? He had obviously done something.

My point here is this. Iron Oxide, in his outright desire to destroy as many sharks as possible, is making me suspicious. Who wants the Sharks dead more than a Jet? What other reason would he be basing his decision on, aside from killing as many sharks as possible? There are already two dead sharks. No Jet blood has been spilled yet. The greater this division becomes, the more likely it is that the Jets will triumph over their Sharky rivals and subjugate the peace loving people of New York City to a life of gang ruled streets. Lets shoot this jet down, people. We can't afford to let their advantage grow any more.

2 things, 1 who's the second shark? secondly it would be no bad thing to kill off either group first as that would mean we would only have one murder per night.
On that note should there only be one gang remaining do we still get two votes and two hangings per day?
Title: Re: Manhattan: 1955
Post by: StaedlerMars on 21 May 2009, 08:49
There are already two dead sharks. No Jet blood has been spilled yet.

As far as I recall only Dollface has been proven to have any concrete gang affiliation. Who but one of the sharks would know the amount of Shark blood already spilled? I think I will be changing my vote from onewheelwizard to Professor Snuggles

Two more dead. Justice needs to be done, swiftly, before the bloodbath continues. Citizens of New York, name your next two suspects.

I guess I was doing the reason thing again? The "meetings" thing made me think he was being implied as sketchy. And the fact that there is a whole thing about Blue Kitty, and the specifics of which gang killed him, whereas Sir Juggles just wakes up dead in his apartment, in the same way Khar and Patrick just died, makes me think he's not just a dude. It's not concrete, but I know tyler and his flair for the theatric pretty well, and as far as I can tell, my logic is sound.

But you know, you can totally kill me off if you want. Obviously, I used my knowledge of my own gang, the shark's, roster to make sure I could get one of our own members killed in the first turn. That is definitely the thing that I would be doing to support the success of my gang over the Jets.

It's a valiant attempt to save yourself, doggie, but your logic is flawed, and your life is over.

Second vote goes to StaedlerMars

I am a little apprehensive about killing zombiedude because there is a good chance we won't get the headshot right, and he will return to gnaw our necks all ferociously before devouring our brains. Plus, I feel like he seems like he has a lot to lose, you know? Like, these efforts to persuade us that he is actually an okay guy and not desirous of our delicious flesh and gray matter seem a little bit too clean for my liking. As they say, no one eats that much apple pie. Especially not gang members.

My second vote is going to go at Linds. I am not sure she is in a gang, but I do not appreciate her tone, I do not appreciate her accusation, and I definitely do not appreciate the implication that I don't have New York's best interests at heart.
Title: Re: Manhattan: 1955

It is my estimation that Zombiedude should die...

Also, Linds levies some heavy accusations against Professor Snuggles, but in doing so casts a shadow of suspicion upon herself, in my humble opinion. In this time of crisis, we citizens must be ever so careful to consider all possibilities. Could it be that Linds' finger-pointing is but a panicked and desperate attempt to cast suspicion away from her own evil deeds? To that end, I say this - Linds must die.

The court system completely abandoned, this time the mob went directly to the homes of Linds and Zombiedude. Brutally beaten, the two die slowly and painfully. After searching the apartments, it becomes evident that Linds was in fact innocent as claimed. However, Zombiedude was in fact a Jet til the day he died. Man callin' Zombiedude you fucks just got lucky.  There ain't no probable cause and ain't none of that other shit you'd need for real but we don'd get in this game.

Lind's was alright, we knew that. Or rather, we didn't know that she wasn't and that's tantamount to the same. I eagerly await who dies tonight but that's only because it puts further constraints on who the motherfuckers are.

Title: Re: Manhattan: 1955
Post by: snalin on 30 May 2009, 11:11
Okay, I did some checking around. Three have been wanting to kill the_pied_piper; axerton, David Dovey and Christophe. I'm guessing that at least one of these personally wanted TPP dead, and used the mob accusation to shield their true, evil intentions. The interesting part is that TPP must have seen through this brilliant ruse, and tried to call out against the one that he perceived as the culprit: David Dovey
David Dovey

David Dovey was suddenly accused of being a mobster; someone saw though his innocent disguise, into his inner, evil soul. In desperation, he had his fellow Jets or Sharks kill TPP before anything drastic to prove David's evil.

First vote goes to David Dovey

But who wanted to kill Will? There's only one person that ever voted for him, and that's McTaggart, even though Will voted for no less then five people, all whom he wanted dead. I think that to find the culprit behind his murder; or rather the one that got his gang along on the whole "Kill Will"-deal (who knows, the evildoers might even have used this name for their operation of hate and evil), we have to look over to another feeling than hate. This is a feeling that is just as strong as hate, and just as often leads to murder. I am of course talking about love. Have you ever been rejected? Do you know how that feels? Well, if you do, imagine the outrage in your inner soul, if such a fine man as Will rejected you! If you already were a gang member, rough and not afraid of violence, you might just get to the point of murder.

Who has Will ever rejected?
well, calenlass and I are certainly not the lovers...not at all.
So, Calenlass was the one that out of jealousy and anger got one of the gangs to take out Will.

My second vote goes to Calenlass.

Post by: sean on 30 May 2009, 11:15
I'm not sure if I buy that argument for Calenlass, but I'll definitely take the Dovey one.

I'm also definitely suspicious of Kieff so he gets a vote too.
Title: Re: Manhattan: 1955
Post by: ackblom12 on 30 May 2009, 11:29
I'm incredibly suspicious of Christophe myself. His accusations definitely seem a bit suspect.

Zombiedude backed her and he was a a mobster, so it only stands to reason to vote Calenlass.

The citizenry, embarrassed and ashamed of their recent rash of killing innocents carefully weighed evidence in judgment. Policework had shown David Dovey and Calenlass both had numerous mob contacts. The trials were swift and merciless. Both were sentenced to death, clearly proven as criminals. One Shark and one Jet have been put to ultimate justice. The mobs will be reeling from their losses, but also looking for blood. It seems the citizens are finally pushing back.

well since the game is going to end shortly by the look of things (yet more proof that we suck at games) I'm going to post this now, one night a while ago I had some insomnia and so spent the morning doing some looking at trends and stuff so as not to just be guess voting - not that that hadn't been going too badly.

A wet helmet – voted zombie and dovey statistically innocent

Ackblom12 – voted zombie and Katie, potential shark

Axerton – voted dovey and Katie, statistically innocent

Christophe – voted dollface, potential jet

Dazed – voted zombie, potential shark

Kickthatbathprof – only voted once, suspicious

KVP – hasn’t voted at all, suspicious

Ledhendrix – none of his votes have been for confirmed gang members, suspicious – however dovey voted for him, unlikely shark.

Look out ninjas -  voted dollface dovey zombie and Katie statistically innocent

Mctaggart – voted dollface and will, potential jet

Objects inside clouds – voted dollface dovey and zombie, statistically innocent

Onewheelwizard – none of his votes have been for confirmed gang members, suspicious

Phooey – voted dovey, voted for by members of both gangs, statistically innocent

Kieffer – voted dovey dollface zombie and Katie, statistically innocent

Rallymonkey – voted dollface, potential jet

Sam – voted zombie, only voted in one round, potential shark

Scarred – voted dollface, dovey and zombie, statistically innocent

Snalin – voted dovey (twice) and Katie, statistically innocent

Thomas Edison – none of his votes have been for confirmed gang members, suspicious

Yayniall – voted zombie (twice) Katie and dovey (twice) statistically innocent

Thomas is not actually dead.

However, no such luck for Snalin or Christophe! The mobs got back from seeing their in-laws in New Jersey and caused a bit of havok. Innocent Snalin had been too accurate in his moral calls. Christophe, however, was found dead with a tommy gun in his hand. Not exactly the crime scene of an innocent citizen.

The real truth of the matter is that under the ever increasing heat of public speculation Don Tyler was smuggled out of the city by members of both gangs to keep him from being killed. He is now residing in an undisclosed location surrounded by many armed guards.

Free elections were held and a new Mayor of New York was appointed by the true and honest civilians. Thank you all for your support.

The real truth of the matter is that under the ever increasing heat of public speculation Don Tyler was smuggled out of the city by members of both gangs to keep him from being killed. He is now residing in an undisclosed location surrounded by many armed guards.

I shall be vacationing in Seattle for the next two weeks.

Now that's not very undisclosed now is it.

Also, ghost party? Yay! I make excellent dip. Cream cheese, chives, puppy livers, bunny ears, and souls from people killed in boating accidents. It's quite delicious.

The gangs have chosen and the citizens wake up from their first night's sleep under the protection of the new mayor. Or supposed protection as it turns out.

Thomas Edison woke up as a spirit as his body was brutally beaten by several blunt objects and was fished out of the Hudson river by leisurely sailors. Meanwhile, on the other side of town McTaggart is found hanging from several meat hooks in a warehouse after what the police suspect was "an interrogation gone awry".

Ok, citizens, time for you to seek vengeance on these horrible beasts of men.

The scene was set for the first set of public executions under new leadership but unlike at the polls the crowd couldn't reach an agreement. Many names were bandied around but only one stuck. That person was ackblom12.

From the rest of the crowd came four names who couldn't be separated, Objects Inside Clouds, A Wet Helmet, Look Out! Ninjas and RallyMonkey. By law only one of these men can be executed at this stage. Who will it be?

Please choose one of the four to be executed.

With ackblom12 already in position to be the first person to try out the new guillotine the new administration had decided was more humane to use he realised there was nothing to lose and loudly exclaimed "A Wet Helmet is a Jet!". This immediately led to rumblings in the crowd until one voice shouted "Kill the Jet" and the whole crowd picked up the chant.

Although halfway through the crowd on his way to the hills to avoid almost certain punishment he was muscled back to the stage proclaiming his innocence all the way. "For the charge of murder and of treason to his own kind ackblom12 must suffer to watch his kin die and look him in the eyes during his final breath" announced the executioner. A Wet Helmet was then forced into the guillotine and ackblom12 forced to his knees to look him in the eye. Only the two of them noticed the gleam in ackblom12's eyes and the slight grin on his lips but it was too late for a cry of mercy as A Wet Helmet's head landed eyes up in the basket never leaving the other's gaze.

The ceremony was repeated for ackblom12 almost immediately after to cheers from the crowd. However, these cheers soon turned to dismay as it was revealed from the Jet tattoo on ackblom12's arm that he was in fact a gangster yet there was no trace of ink at all on the body of A Wet Helmet.

So, one more Jet gangster down yet another civilian cruelly dragged along with him. Who will the gangs remove from the streets next? Night falls once again and it is time for some good old fashioned gang violence. As before, PM me your choices.

The second night of new leadership was come to pass and the clouds had failed to provide ample cover for movement without shadow. RallyMonkey was tottering home from a bar after the guilt of helping to execute another innocent civilian had made him turn to hard liquor. Approached by masked men in the darkness he tried to scream but found his mouth couldn't open and when he tried to run all he could do was stumble. The next morning he was found hanging from a lamppost with a note pinned to his jacket. "We will leave this town when we decide".

As the night started to fade several blocks away ledhendrix was walking home himself and whistling nonchalantly, not knowing that all the time he was being followed. As he approached the door of his apartment he saw the shadow behind him and turned quickly. "Oh, its you". "Yes, its me". Later that morning his body was found sitting at his kitchen table with a single bullet hole through the forehead.

Two more deaths have continued this plague on the city, who will be held responsible? Citizens, it is time to get up in arms again and cast your votes.

Afternoon arrives and the citizenry once again assembles around the town gallows. "Who committed these horrible murders and deserves righteous punishment?" was the cry from the judge. Once again Yayniall was the first to answer; "Kickthatbathprof" and "Dazed" was the cry from the crowd. However, mumblings began when the other civilians realised who had given their opinion first once more and suspicion was cast upon him. "Yayniall is always trying to push us away from him, it is him who is a gangster", came an anonymous shout. "I agree", came another and soon the whole crowd had picked up the name of Yayniall.

"No, no, i am innocent. No, please, what about Dazed? He casts suspicions too, just like i do. He tries to lead you on, what about him?" "Bring Dazed to be questioned" cried the executioner. Bundled up to the stage by other citizens preventing his escape Dazed is forced to his knees and asked for proof of his innocence. "I, I, I..." is all the voice he can produce under such pressure. "He is just as guilty as Yayniall", proclaimed the judge. "Execute them both".

"Now to prove their guilt from the ink that they hide so cleverly during the day".

Sadly, yet again the civilians had been turned upon each other as the arms of both Yayniall and Dazed were bare and the survivors started shuffling agitatedly upon the knowledge that there were still gangsters in their midst.

Night falls and the citizens stay restless. Who is an easy target for the gangs? PMs for the victims again please.

Once again the sky turns dark and the stars come out to signal nightfall yet some citizens still fail to heed the warnings to protect themselves and decide to venture outside. Objects Inside Clouds was on his way to a friends house when a hooded stranger stopped him. "You're Objects Inside Clouds, right?", inquired the hooded man. "I am, yes", came the reply. "I have a package for you", the hooded man said, "but be careful, its quite fragile. I would recommend you put it down before opening it."

After receiving the eerily unmarked and decidedly weighty package Objects Inside Clouds continued on to his friend's house. The more wary onewheelwizzard had insisted on staying inside and had only allowed his friend to come over after much persistence. "I got a package on the way here", said Objects Inside Clouds. "Mind if i open it?"

"Sure, go ahead.... NO, WAIT!" but the cry came too late from onewheelwizzard as the explosion ripped through everything in its path and both he and Objects Inside Clouds were identified the next day by their dental records amidst what was described as, "The most horrific dismemberment of body parts i have ever seen", by the coroner.

So, once again the gangs have successfully picked off two more targets but who is left to be prosecuted? Citizens, your voting time has arrived once again. Choose wisely lest you be the next to go.

The remaining 6 citizens congregated at the gallows at midday eager to dole out punishment to those worthy of it. There was no talking, no eye contact and very little emotion shown by all, including the executioner who looked more worried about executing more innocent people than doing his job. Finally, the shout rang out, "Who shall today be held responsible for the brutal and gruesome murders of last night?". Sam and Look Out! Ninjas! came the first shout, Phooey and Look Out! Ninjas! came the next, Phooey and Look Out! Ninjas! rang out again for the third vote and the majority vote came out as Sam and Phooey.

"By democratic elections it has been determined that Phooey and Look Out! Ninjas! were the culprits behind the brutal murders of the last night. What do you have to say for yourselves?" asked the executioner. "I swear, i'm just a bumbling citizen" insisted Phooey while Look Out! Ninjas! had already resigned himself to his fate and said nothing.

"Well, lets get this done with then shall we?" "No, i'm innocent, i'm innocent, i say" cried Phooey. Finally, Look Out! Ninjas! spoke up, "I know I am innocent of these crimes but what we say doesn't matter, two more citizens are going to be murdered tonight and it is their own fault for executing the innocent once again. I for one am happy to finally be done with this."

The sound of the guillotine blade singing as it fell and squelching as it chopped through the necks of the two accused rang out twice, each time just as loud as the other and the crowd was thinned to four. Suddenly, laughter escaped the lips of two citizens that were left as Sam and Professor Snuggles held each other and turned to kickthatbathprof and scarred. "Hahaha, you listened to us and executed as we told you to" scoffed Sam. "You're next though" gasped Professor Sunggles as he tried to hold back the laughter from inside. "You did just as you were told and now this town is ours and ours alone" exclaimed Sam as he drew the knife from his pocket. "Time for the last two obstacles to be removed" said Professor Snuggles as he drew his own dagger and in the pools of blood that poured from the bodies of kickthatbathprof and Scarred, Sam and Professor Snuggles embraced and contemplated the life that they had left together.

So, game over for citizens, Sharks and Jets and well done to the lovers. Sam and Professor Snuggles successfully avoided the executioner and the majority public vote all through the game and ended as the last two surviving players.

Hahahahahahahaha Sam and Kieffer are totally gay

Guys, seriously, I laughed so hard. See when I decided not to vote for Sam because he would prolly pop a cap in my ass and also because he is a pretty alright dude, I should have known that Tyler was not going to have been unbiased either.

What I am saying is that phooey is kind of right in that Tyler just wants a super spicy threesome.
