The last person to make it from one end of Boston to the other in less than 2 hours was on horseback yelling "THE BRITISH ARE COMING!"

?

One can essentially WALK from one end of Boston proper to the other in under two hours.

James, you're from Hull, right?  You wouldn't talk like that, but I do sometimes. I try to hide my accent a lot, but when I'm excited or angry, I know I can't stop it.

Awesome but unfortunately I will be back in New York for things I cannot shirk to extend my trip.

I really enjoyed Boston when I was there. So much so that I'm going to return some time in 2011 with my girlfriend and maybe try and see NYC as well. Neither of us like the heat but Ingelise also doesn't like it to be really cold so we're thinking of maybe going during the Autumn/Fall. The upshot of this is that I might have my birthday in Boston? I'm looking into saving up for it now.

Like I've said elsewhere, I've got a couch for any of you guys (provided I've spoken to you before).

Boston, you were fun! I'll be back again sometime soon.

It looks like I'll be flying into "Bawfeston" (as I've heard Mayor Menino say it on Opie & Anthony) when NEWW '10 rolls around... unless I fly Southwest, then Hartford would be more likely. I've got other rural destinations too... I want to visit my old high school friend Priscilla in Vermont, and I want to check out Funspot in NH - the "classic arcade game museum" sounds like it would've been pure heaven to my quarter-junkie middle-school self.

Funspot is kind of a shithole. It was pretty cool once upon a time, but it has long since fallen into relative disrepair.

Uhhh, when was the last time you were there? That place is fine.

I try to hide my accent a lot, but when I'm excited or angry, I know I can't stop it.

Now I want to hear you talk.  Post a recording!

I think I actually kinda prefer Cambridge now. But it's still a rad city.

I'm in Boston routinely because both my sisters live there and I don't think of Cambridge as a separate city from Boston, more like another neighborhood.  I mean, isn't it just across the river?

unless I fly Southwest, then Hartford would be more likely.

If you're flying into Hartford then you have to stop by Mystic Aquarium.  I COMMAND YOU

She has posted one, ages ago. You really only hear he accent come out when she's around her local friends, though.

Post by: jhocking on 24 Aug 2009, 12:31
Then here is your mission: Have a recorder in your pocket whenever you hang out, and then secretly record her when she's with her friends.  Crop out a section of the recording where she isn't saying anything that could be problematic and post that.

I know you are willing to go to all that effort so that the forum can hear a wickid Boston accent.  I have faith in you.

ALMOST SIX FUCKING BUCKS FOR A GUINNESS THERE, AND THE BARTENDER HAD A MULLET

Chad, I mean seriously, how much did we pay for that bottle of Newcastle at the store down the street, 3 bucks?
