I would call that more of a teaser than an actual trailer.

I would also say that I am tentatively excited about GW2.  I hear you can jump now, which has further ramifications than just "you can jump."  To me that signals a move toward a more open landscape, which is something that GW1 seemed to be working toward but never effectively delivered for me.  I always hated the feeling of being on virtual tracks, so the news is a big plus in my reckoning.

What is a bit of a negative is that they've gone the usual "oooooh, gnomish technology!" route.  I really don't understand why it always has to be gnomes that introduce this shit into the world.  Why not just have human (or whoever, really)-created steam-driven devices for the more simple tech like zeppelins, steamboats, steamtrains, steamwagons and the like, or perhaps at a stretch steam-driven turbines to run simple electrical items like lights (etc) and have advances in magical devices for others, perhaps with some crossover between the two?

I have "Tome of Rubicon" from GW:EotN as the ringtone on my cell.

So, yeah, I'm looking forward to this.

Gnomes and technology is a convention that goes back at least as far as Dragonlance and probably farther.  It's like Yahtzee (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/1096-Dragon-Age-Origins) was saying, why always have elves with pointy ears and trees, dwarves with battle-axes and stones, and humans being gigantic bell ends?

TRADITION!

Of course you want to come up with an alternative to the standard Tolkienian/ D&D mythos, I'm all for that.  It's just most of the people that do that end making JRPGs....

Yeah, I guess my point didn't come across very well.  I was asking why they gotta stick with boring old cliches when the GW1 world wasn't so strictly generic.

I think I'm done with fantasy. There's just nothing to be excited about. Stock fantasy races, stock fantasy script, stock fantasy world, stock fantasy names, stock fantasy soundtrack*, filters on the gruff dude's voice to make him sound gruffer. I like the idea of a Guild Wars 2 but there's just nothing to get me excited about this one.

*still better than Warhammer Online's though.

So the yogscast did an interview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7r_oAx7zg98) with the creator of this game.  (interview starts around 5:50).  I don't think there's all too much new said in the interview, but I hadn't heard of this game before, and it sounds pretty interesting!

I'm really enjoying this game, been playing a lot with the missus and am checking out dungeons for the first time with some obnoxious jerks (<3) from my home forum, which also seems to have caught the Guild Wars bug. We're on Maguuma, welcome to The Obsidian Order if you're looking for people aka. random internet strangers to play with :) Just opened up a sub-forum for it: http://www.theworldforgotten.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20

cheers!
