i know this has been done before. but i want to tell all of you how much i love you! it's crazy to think that i have been on these forums for my entire adult life. i know i come and go, and i rarely get a chance to talk to most of you. but this community means the world to me. you've been one of the few stable things in my life. i love that every time that i am sad, or need advice on boy problems, or want to celebrate something that's made me super happy... you are there. if i am just bored to death at work, i have you to make it better. i am the person i am today because of you internet people - it's ridiculous to what extent you have all influenced my life.

I'm a few hours away from 59 days.
Now, I KNOW I've had a tab with the forums open in my browser for weeks straight at a time, so I'm going to assume that it only counts when you're actively around. So the number is both surprisingly low, in its own way, and surprisingly high (although, averaging a post and a half a day for the last 5 years gives it some perspective).
Jeez, 3 posts every 2 days for the last 5 years?
Y'all deserve some credit. Thanks for making me feel at home here.

i'm at 59 days, 23 hours and 34 minutes, but i think a lot of that is also related to how many days i have opened up a tab and went to qc and then totally forgotten about it all day and not posted anything.
then again, roughly 2-3 of the 5 years i have been here were spent in some sort of "this sucks, i'm quitting the forum again" phase so this is still a much higher and sadder number than i expected. i guess i need a life.

Bear in mind that it's only been tracking time logged in since we switched forum software a few years ago. Otherwise, between my postcount and time logged in that would mean there's an average of 7 minutes between my posts.
However that also means a calculation like johnny's of minutes per day is going to be a lowball, and my calculator says I've been averaging an hour a day. please please please may I have done my math wrong

That's too bad! I really liked Mai. She gave me one of those cheap bracelets back in Chicago and so sad was my sense of fashion, so drab was my style, that it did not leave my wrist for... well, anywhere from 4 to 8 months. It would've stayed there longer, but it started to smell like a hippie. I would've had a definite time on that, but it was on Mai's facebook page, which I can no longer access. But it was awhile, believe you me.
I remember when I first met her I didn't know how to pronounce her name. I thought it was "My-aid-ah" but it turned out to be "May-ah-da", and that took some getting used to. Memories!
I'm sorry I didn't get to know her better but then, at this point I don't really know if I'll be seeing anyone from the internet again. Anyway, I hope she comes back at some point... If she ends up making use of her IR degree, I would very much like to know how she did so. And if it turns out to be "by being a pretty girl" I'm going to be sore.

You guys it's ok, the forums still have a May (and I spell my name the right way!).
I am still wearing the bracelet that Emilio gave me in Chicago, it's getting on for a year now. Doesn't smell or anything, and hasn't started fraying yet so I can imagine it holding out for at least another year.
