Disclaimer - when my mother took me on outings on the back of her motorbike between the ages of 12 and 15, I was so scared that I decided never to get on a motorbike or scooter again; so when my brother gave me his Vespa, I simply sold it on without even trying it.

I think that sonnets we should all compose
Shakespeare-style, not Spenser nor Milton
Nor occitan, yes let's abandon prose
And write in forms poetic from now on
Close thought be paid to rhyme and also meter
And other things like syllables and such
And mind that nothing can be truly sweeter
Than to try and end each line with the word 'fuck'
I know it doesn't rhyme you fucking cunts
It nearly does, depends on how you say it
Oh look once more my last word shall be cunts
I love this form, and never shall betray it
Now a couplet at the end fuck yes
Fucking sonnets are the cunting best

Khar! Avaunt!
There's no need to blind, and swear a loud oath
Waxing Shakespearian needn't be lurid
You want to blast heaven? Well, you and me both
But keep it in style and manner such as Will did!
"Thou hill-broken harpy! Thou pig-sweating knave!
I'll see you meet sooner, not later, your grave!"
See how it's easy to go utter mental
Yet not let one's anger burst out accidental.
Give it verbosity, give it some style
(Not that I'm giving an order, please note)
There's some find "fuck" and "cunt" dreadfully vile -
There's some take offence at "dick-face" and "shit-scrote"
I don't agree with these unsavoury turds
But why not defeat them - with other words!

The sonnet as a form is just okay,
But surely we can write much better work.
Instead of boring quatrain stanza chat,
Let's celebrate all forms with forum posts!
There's so many from which we all can choose:
The villanelle, rondeau, and so much more.

We are known by "I Like Fish" no more.
Yet, somehow, it will prob'ly be okay.
It's not like we took on that name by choice,
Nor was its tone the product of hard work;
Instead, we built a home out of our posts,
And chilled in Gabbly and in Meebo Chat.

Let's talk of posting quality. Let's chat.
There's likely stuff that makes you say "no more,"
Like constant low'rcase sets of triple-posts
Or long jokes like this, which are just okay,
Assuming that said long-form jokes do work,
If clever turns of phrase the author chose.

But if all forumites could ever choose
The posters with whom they would always chat,
Then what within this BBCode would work?
Threads are always funnier with more.
Sometimes, just step back. Tell yourself, "Okay,
It's time to suck it up and just make posts."

And if one thread is at odds with your posts,
Then there are other threads that you can choose,
Or accept argument. Debate's okay!
Or you can always go on Meebo Chat
And hope that there's two people there or more!
Or just log off and do some actual work!

But as for poem posts – put in some work,
Or limericks will soon consume all posts.
And "We were meant to live for so much more,"
So said Switchfoot. We cannot always choose
The modes in which we write. But here, this chat
Should caution you. Don't settle for "okay!"

You have so many forms from which to choose,
And while I hope you take to heart this chat,
I'm sure the posts you make will be okay.

ON THE RENAMING

No, I do not, and if I may explain this
The actions of posters have nothing to do with it

This has happened elsewhere with other webcomics
Where people had fun with their funnies electronic

But one artist had a problem with their jibing critiques
Another had to deal with a thread and went super-freak

Locked threads, artist cursing, slash fiction speculation
Could lead to an all-out forum annihilation

Unfortunately on the net I have yet in my years
Seen reason and common sense allay any of my fears

So in closing I can only plea for a change in how we post
Or this forum 'twill disappear like a whispering ghost.

Jazz Funk Whatever, I feel like you kinda missed the days of awkward fucking and people from this board actually making attempts to hang out regularly, sorry to say. Nowadays it's mostly bitter recriminations and reminiscing about the good old days.
