...Faye's scar seems to be missing in today's comic.
Please don't kill me.
-
...why would anyone kill you? In the past, Jeph had a terrible time remembering to draw the scar. See his comment at the bottom of this strip (http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1137).

Faye's scar is a rare form of injury called a Schrödinger mark. At any given time, it may exist, may not, and once every hundred or so years it forms an Elder Sign with the light of the aligned planets to drive Cthulhu and his spawn back into their corpse-city.
-
Note how it is shaped when it does exist. Aside from occasionally forming an Elder Sign every few centuries, it also functions as the summons for the holders of the Useless Brooms Made Entirely Of Dicks, like how the bat-shaped spotlight is the summons for Batman.
-
What are you doing staring at her chest anyway! Are you some kind of CREEPY PERVERT? :x
;)
-
Somewhere, in a newspost or here, Jeph invited us to believe that the scar has faded and only shows in some lighting.
(moderator)Nobody should kill you, but there is a much-neglected rule about "nitpicking", which is said to make Jeph sad(/moderator).

Which could be the perfect solution, allowing Jeph the option of drawing it or not (or forgetting) and us the option to relax and not worry about it.

That is entirely possible, and what I usually think if I notice the scar is missing.
I actually have a scar on my left cheek from when I was a little boy (a 6 year old with a razor trying to be a man like his father....you do the bloody math). It was very prominent for a couple of years, till I was about 10, fading as I got older, until now, when it can only be seen in extremely specific lighting conditions. It also led to a couple of hilarious moments such as when my (then) girlfriend looked at me in a crowded cinema and shouting out "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT SCAR?!".
Never did find out what happened in the end......
-
Only scars I have that are still visible are on my eyebrow and the center of my upper lip, and both only because hair doesn't grow.
I have lots of larger scars on my arms and legs that have basically disappeared in the span of a few years, even though they were fairly prominent before. Guess I'm just lucky that way.
-
Not a scar, but you can still see the pattern of the radiotherapy I had over 20 years ago in the different growth of hair on my tummy.
-
Crop circles? :-D
As your skin loses elasticity, scars are less able to fade. So be careful when you get older - those marks are even more permanent!
I have several on my hands - the hazards of being a DIY guy - but one real noticable one is from a whittling accident when I was about 10. Jagged edges just don't heal well!
-
"Scars are souvenirs you never lose. The past is never far."
I don't even like that song overly much, but I heard it at work today and, since I have several scars, the line struck a chord with me :-)
-
or:
"Pain is temporary, Glory lasts forever and Chicks dig scars"
I've found myself noticing Faye's scar's variable visibility and hated myself each time for being so petty
I've had dozens of small scars on my hands that have faded away after some years but a 2 inch one on my knee from razorwire when I was 10 as never disappeared
-
I have the opposite problem - scars that just randomly appear.
Seriously, I know that I have never injured a particular spot on my left hand, but there's a nice shiny scar there. It can't be from childhood because I didn't have the scar till I was a teenager. It can't be from getting wasted because I've never been wasted and anyway I'd have noticed the next morning that I had hurt my hand.
-
Somebody pointed this out while the drawing of that comic was being broadcast; Jeph answered that her shirt isn't low-cut enough to show the scar.
-
I'd have to agree, she's not showing any cleavage, and her scar is about the same height as her cleavage.

I have a scar on my lower lip that I can't remember seeing before maybe five years ago, and I don't know where it came from.

You know, that's weird. I have this scar I found on the back of my neck--
<goauld voice>I'm afraid I don't know what your'e talking about.</goauld voice>

We also know it is capable of causing sudden darkness in any given room. (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1808)
I have a barely visible scar on my right wrist from burning it on my girlfriend's table lamp roughly one year ago. It kinda makes me smile when I think of it.

I have an interesting pattern of scars on the inside of my left elbow, from when I discovered the third law of plumbing.
The laws of plumbing;
- Left is hot. No, your left.
- Shit only runs downhill.
- Never solder a joint directly overhead.
[/size]
-
Left is hot. No, your left.
Not only is that not universally true, I have known - no, lived in - houses where it varied from sink to sink.
-
Amateurs...

Never solder a joint directly overhead.
Ouch!
-
The scar is a metaphor, so that is why it is intangible and capable of phasing
-
I'm pretty sure it was an injury, not a metaphor.

The Pugnacious Peach was initially reluctant to talk to Marten about the scar, but eventually had to get it off her chest.

Ba-dum tish!
