I noticed this week that something looks off with Faye. Then I started to wonder if it's just that she's actually happy, rather than scowling at something or other. Did anyone else feel like this?
-
It's not Faye, it's her Pod Person replacement.
But yeah, she definitely seems to have mellowed out a bit since she started dating Angus.
Maybe he's as good influence.

Her hair is different.
You can't see her ears.
I miss Faye's ears.

I miss Faye's ears.
Yeah, it's harder to target them when they're covered with hair.

Jeph is reverting her hairstyle a bit. Only thing is, her hair was incredibly short in the back when Marten & Dora broke up; now her hair's long enough on the sides to cover her ears.
Maybe she's using Rogaine?

Regarding the hair, I have preeetty much that haircut. (And colour. And those glasses.) It's short at the back, and has short bangs, but it's longer at the front and sides. If I tuck my hair behind my ears, it look like a short cut, like Faye's did before, but if I brush it down, it looks... well, it looks how Faye's looks now.
It's a stretch, but it's at least within the realm of real-world possibility for such a quickly-transforming haircut to exist. ;)

With the fact that we apparently skipped time between the scary movie Hanners and Mari watched, and the time when Hanners was hit on at COD, the hairstyle change seems appropriate.

Boy, I hate it when I sit down to watch a movie and lose a couple of weeks.

The times I gain a few weeks are better, but no less troubling and unsettling.

Seriously: I vaguely remember Jeph stating at one point or another that he doesn't like to use the "narrator" boxes - you know, the little white box in the corner that says, "MEANWHILE..." or "A MONTH LATER..."
-
At the bottom of one of the early strips as reprinted in QC Vol. 1, he said it messed with his OCD or something. I have to say, I admire the way he carries the narration forward without them, using dialogue and visual cues. The fewer of those "narrator" boxes, the better, says this cartooning fan and practitioner.

Eh, depends on how good the movie is.
