Title: So, Mardi Gras
Post by: StaedlerMars on 07 Mar 2011, 07:34
Okay, so it's Mardi Gras tomorrow and all of that, and well, what's some kick ass danceable Mardi Gras inspired music?

You know, stuff that sounds like it's from New Orleans and danceable, summery. For some reason I'm thinking of the 70s Nigerian compilation, but obviously that has not much to do with New Orleans, so maybe that type of sound

You can count on Sidney (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2d6E9TD0Zbs&feature=related).

In all honesty I'm not sure what you mean when you say that it sounds like New Orleans but then play off of Nigeria 70.

Are you going to be in New Orleans for Mardi Gras this year?

I have no idea either, it's just a sound that seems connected in my head, even though it isn't at all except that I associate Nigeria 70 with summer.

The stuff posted so far is kind of what I had in mind, and I guess what it has in common with the Nigeria stuff is that it's pretty lo-fi sounding?
