I realized that I have like, way more songs than six, but I'm kind of conscious of working on too many at once and having them accidentally end up being kind of the same or something. And with most of them I feel like I could improve them if I have more time to think about things. I don't want to rush anything. These ones are the ones I kind of like the most right now, I guess because they're all finished!

I listened to this entire EP, and I really like it. The mixing is a little lo-fi, but since when has that ever been too terribly bad when good music was the focus? Thumbs up.

this is pretty alright! I think the second to last song falls flat and the lo-fi sound sounds more like a "hey lets record this as cheaply as possible" idea more than a "hey lets make this sound lo-fi" idea (which is obviously totally understandable if not less distracting for it) but I definitely like it. Thanks for sharing.

use kickstarter. A friend of mine raised a few thousand bucks to pay for the recording of her new album on kickstarter and it was totally effortless. Just make some donation tiers with cool stuff like a copy of the CD with customized artwork or a personalized song or whatever attached to each and you're good to go.

dear younger anna, i have no idea why it took me this long to start listening to yr tunes. i guess it's because i haven't really been in the mood for sad lo-fi indie pop or whatever. i don't really find em sad though, just mellow and pretty.
keep up the good work. i will buy this album when i'm less broke.

I am just a bit confused by this. Can this possibly be a bad thing? Something in me sort of balks at the idea of deliberately going for a lo-fi sound as if DIY was just some recording gimmick.
Also, goddamn nice tunes.

yeah, if you have a condenser mic and a decent dynamic mic, you're pretty much set. also i think programs get simpler when you get into the paid category, since audacity is designed for like linux nerds who really hate things being intuitive

so i'm back in my dorm room, but it's okay because i have my dano with me this quarter! :]
and my buddy has this wonderful lil' digitech processor with a bunch of effects he programmed himself. i don't really know how to work it but i found some nice reverb. i didn't have an extra cable to run it through my amp but i had the jack converter so i just ran it through my speakers. so i did this (http://www.box.net/shared/3zr9jhnp8r). lykke li has been my idol lately. i kind of want to be her

They were fine? I guess? but then I stopped promoting it after spring break (because I don't actually know how) so I'm not really sure how well I fared with people who like, aren't my friends lol.
I got four weeks left of this quarter but after a month of doing nothing, I'm starting to write again so hopefully by September I can put something else out adslfkjadfslkj so excited for school to end.
