Title: So this is from way back when....
Post by: Buttons* on 18 May 2011, 23:35
But when is Marten's dad getting married? Will there be a ceremony? Has he been eaten by an Allosaurus?

The real question: will Dora still get to be the flower girl?

As slow as QC time moves, it will be a while before we get to see MartyDad's wedding.

If they have a six month engagement, that translates to about three years real time, so it'll be a while, if Jeph ever gets to it, or he could just have the whole thing take place off-stage.

True, I suppose it's silly to theorize or ask questions about this kind of thing. It's up to the artist. *le sigh*

I have this vague memory, which could very easily be wrong, of Jeph saying there wouldn't be a wedding strip.

Stay with your doubts.

Jeph has pretty much kept to a philosophy of "Never say never".

So, I wouldn't go starting any rumors that something will (or won't) be in the strip at some time or other.

And immediately invoked a variant of Murphy's law.  So it could still happen...

Its entirely possible that Jeph could do the wedding during a time skip. Marten (and whoever he brought with him) could come back from the ceremony and tell the others what happened.

Not even, his father could visit again, he and Maurice/Marcel (which one was it again?) now married, with a few anecdotes of how drunk Marty got at the reception...

So we might still get the Yelling Bird, Pintsize, Hannelore three-way?

Won't happen now because you've said it. Funny how that works.

Some things get said that are so absurd that their happening isn't even an issue.  Of course, it would be better if they hadn't even been said (and I might put my hat on if this carries on).

I accept that people so far are joking and not abusing the characters, but stay alert to the risk Marten pointed out:

Okay, see, remember what we talked about earlier, about how some jokes come off as kind of creepy even if you don't mean them in that way?
