Title: IRC Server hostname change!
Post by: orospakr on 21 Aug 2011, 17:28
Hi folks!

I run the QC IRC server.

I've been working on getting that machine replaced, and unfortunately my host is unable to port the IP address associated with the old one.  However, irc.questionablecontent.net currently resolves to the old address, and I've so far been unsuccessful in getting a hold of Jeph in order to have that adjusted.

As such, I'm asking everyone to update their IRC client configuration to point to:

irc.orospakr.ca

It currently points to the old IP address, but I am going to be migrating it very shortly.  As long as you're using that new hostname, you'll make it to the right place.  SSL and such will continue to work as before.  I might even replace the silly self-signed certificate some day!

I'm going to continue in my quest to ask Jeph to modify the irc.questioncontent.net DNS record to a CNAME (alias).  Until then, though, it's going to point to nothing but empty void.

Cheers, and happy chatting.
