Title: Balticon - a sci fi and fantasy convention
Post by: nekowafer on 02 May 2012, 05:48
Anyone going to Balticon, in Hunt Valley, Maryland?

Information here (http://balticon.org/).

I've been going since I was born, I believe my mom was even on staff when she was pregnant with me. It's an awesome convention full of anime characters, Klingons, and people just dressed fancy.

On that note - any other interesting sci fi/fantasy conventions in YOUR area?

I almost went to PAX East, but I didn't have enough money to spare, because I bought an accordion the day before my friend needed to sell her tickets. I would have loved to yell at Adam Sessler's new haircut.

Bald, with the beard? It does look pretty damn ridiculous. Or has it changed?

Nope, that's the one. Only Dr. Steel is alowed to wear that.

The only ones I know of that goes on in my part of the world is DragonCon in Atlanta, but I hear it hasn't quite been the same since they made GWAR stop doing shows there.  Although a friend of mine (dressed as one of the Neon Genesis girls) got a very nice picture of her making out with a Xenomorph there.
