hypothermia.

From wikipedia...

As the temperature decreases further physiological systems falter and heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure all decreases [...] Difficulty in speaking, sluggish thinking, and amnesia start to appear; inability to use hands and stumbling is also usually present. [...] muscle coordination becomes very poor, walking becomes almost impossible, and the person exhibits incoherent/irrational behavior including terminal burrowing or even a stupor.[...]

I think I'll just stick to cyanide!

Twice in Albany, NY- once for the By The Way tour, once for the Stadium Arcadium tour. This past summer in Pittsburgh, PA. Seeing them in Hyde Park must have been awesome! That's pretty close to the year they recorded THE Live in Hyde Park (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_in_Hyde_Park), you sure it wasn't 2004? :-P

If you want to hear an amazing live album, check them out at Slane Castle.

Learned this when I took a tour of Fenway, that shade of green is under copyright. You cannot go into a store and buy Fenway's green. I forget exactly who it is, but after they retouch everything in the offseason, the (I believe) head groundskeeper is allowed out one gallon of said paint, and can only use it inside his house.

I'm late to the game, but here goes:

Top 3 Meals:
1. I partook of a nine-course tasting menu with wine pairings at a hotel restaurant in San Francisco with my aunt. I don't remember everything on the menu, but I remember there was fois gras and a very sweet white wine that paired amazingly. Also it was an art-deco style room with mirrored mosaics, and we were dressed up pretty fancy...it was just fun.

2. One time I was in Seattle at a library conference, and I went with a bunch of publisher reps and other librarians to a wine bar called Purple. I had a flight of wines that are completely unmemorable, and some macaroni & cheese with chunks of lobster, and also some amazing finely sliced brussels sprouts with bacon. The company, the food, and the sips of someone else at the table's digestif were all fantastic.

3. Thanksgiving dinner the year my Grandad died. The memorial service was held a few days before Thanksgiving, so many of us who wouldn't otherwise have made it there were able to be together. My brother made spanakopita and my sister's boyfriend roasted a medley of root vegetables and my sister-in-law made this feta & rosemary dipping oil for bread that my mom made, and dad cooked a couple chickens he'd raised, and I don't even remember what else... I think we had 14 people around the table...I ended up buying the table, which folds down to a 2-person table, when it came up at auction, mostly because of the memories of so many meals eaten around it.

Top 3 dog breeds:
1. Golden retriever
2. Basenji
3. Standard poodle

Top 3 ways to have bacon:
1. Right out of the pan, after cooking it over slow heat until the fat runs out and it simmers in a pool of its own fat.
2. Crumbled over rice that was also cooked with bacon fat.
3. On a grass-fed beef burger cooked medium, with lettuce, tomato and mayo.

2. Escaflowne - This is a lesser known Anime, but it was shown on TV here for whatever reason, and the animation was gorgeous. Even though I think Pokemon was my first anime, it showed me that there was more to anime than being weird (like Pokemon and Dragonball Z, which I never liked).
1. Batman: The Animated Series - Because it's the goddamned Batman.

3: Dexter's Lab
2: Sagwa
1: Liberty's Kids (Even to this day, the theme randomly comes back to me)

Top three songs you've heard in the last week before seeing this post?

Mine are;
3: Honor for all (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ulYEI145aQ) (Dishonored credits theme)
2: Gekka no Duelist (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0L2kd_Z9Lo)

but cartoons from my childhood that I remember enjoying a lot were...

3. Winnie the Pooh (out of all of these, this is the one I would still happily watch)
2. Pokemon
1. Sonic the Hedgehog (which was on at 2 but I didn't get home till 2:30 oh noooo)

Top three songs this last week;

3. I Think of Demons (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50k-dCwV6SU&feature=my_liked_videos&list=LLwn7KARyvWyuNw376pv7x0g) by Rory Erickson.. very cool singer from Texas who suffered from pretty bad schizophrenia from what I have gathered. He also made a sort of acoustic album in the 90's that sounds like Buddy Holly.
2. Brave Captain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rVLguwR5o8&feature=related) by Firehose .. 80s goodness
1. Rag Mama Rag (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7tDq61xGlo) by Levon Helm and Rick Danko .. I love these guys and that song is my favorite by The Band. Rick Danko had the best "rough" screamy voice ever.

Practitioners of sport? Like, athletes? Let me make two lists here.

Current:
3. Dustin Pedroia (Boston Red Sox). Scrappy, plays through injuries, gives nothing less than 100%. Won league rookie of the year and MVP in the same season. Ridiculous nickname (Muddy Chicken), speaks his own language, it seems.
2. Patrice Bergeron (Boston Bruins). Skill for days, and pure class on and off the ice.
1. Ryan Giggs (Manchester United). Not much to say that hasn't been said.

All-time:
3. Phil Esposito (Boston Bruins, New York Rangers). Not afraid to speak his mind (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFKvB3Wnzgk). Prolifically good at scoring. Rad sideburns.
2. Ryan Giggs.
1. Roberto Clemente (Pittsburgh Pirates). Pioneer for current latin baseball players. Grace, effortless-looking skill, humanitarian. Died in a plane crash, headed to Nicaragua to help aid with earthquake relief in the prime of his career

3. Pasta Primavera. Pasta, garlic, and all sorts of fresh veggies? I'm in!
2. Fettucini alfredo with chicken and broccoli.
1. Hard decision between homemade mac and cheese and homemade lasagna. Both are good. And my mac is definitely better than any mac I've ever had at a restaurant. But lasagna. So it's a tie.

Speaking of cheese, best three types of cheese.

3. Goat Cheese with Roasted Garlic
2. I can't remember the type, but this really amazing lavender and fennel soft-ish white cheese
1. Whiskey Cheddar with Chives

...I REALLY like cheese.

I also REALLY like chocolate, and cheese and chocolate go together REALLY well, so top three chocolate brands.

It was a sport that this very board created about 5 years ago. People would race to see who could take the quicker shower, head to head.

IIRC, I think the record was set at something like 2 minutes, 18 seconds.

Philippe is screaming at Lie Bot. What isn't to get?

I don't remember if there's more context to that strip, but it doesn't really need more; for me it's that I know how Philippe acts and interacts with everyone and I know how Lie Bot acts and interacts with everyone and it's just so very...fitting.

An interesting one occurred to me on my way back from school:

Top three things you just don't want other people to see you involved in in person.
Mine are:
3: Watching or reading something with my back open (I'm always paranoid people are reading/watching along over my shoulder)
2: Listening to my music without headphones (I don't need to hear people get confused about Jpop, Kpop, vocaloid, and nightcore)

3. Eating. I have had to get over this one in order to ever see my friends at all.
2. Blowing my nose. I mean, really, why would you?
1. Going into the bathroom. Not actually using it (although obviously that too) but just going into the room. Sometimes I hide if someone is walking past, and wait until they've gone.

Top three things you just don't want other people to see you involved in in person.
3. Flossing. No explanation needed.
2. Typing. I can type ridiculously fast if I get into a rhythm, but I get flustered when people watch and it makes me screw it all up.
1. Picking. I'm a serious picker, of everything except what you'd actually expect lol. The skin around my nails, my scalp, scabs, etc. Anything on my skin that is not supposed to be there, really. It's gross but I just can't help it. And the thought of getting called out/caught is horrifying.

(Was contemplating the substitution of "Rocking out to any of my favorite music (especially oldies)" for Number 3 because I get really into it and totally lose track of everything around me and dance all weirdly and sing like a maniac, especially when I'm cleaning. But that's just embarrassing if someone randomly stumbles upon me doing it. When it's planned group craziness, it's quite fun. :-) )

deffffffffinitely Baldur's Gate 2!!!

I´m just replaying it for the umpteenth time. I´m not great at RPGs nor am I a D&D nerd or anything but I fucking love it for it´s characters and for being a game that I can play for 10 hours and completely get lost in.
Also the isometric graphic pushes my buttons and I whish they´d just make another one on the goddamn Infinity-Engine or an improved pixel-engine and fuck 3d graphics.

so.. I always suck at coming up with a second and third..

Not necessarily my top three and depending on your definition of 'solo', not necessarily solos either.

More 'solo guitar' than 'guitar solo', but Classical Gas (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeHgNqbdBKs) is a favourite
The latter half of Telegraph Road (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd3btVhwr48) is good.
The guitar-piano-bass-drums (max three at once though) piece here (http://youtu.be/df6nXjaTeus?t=4m43s).

Y'know....I had really high hopes for them. I saw them in 2006, so they may be better now- it could also be that they just didn't do well in a stadium setting. Their set just wasn't impressive- the sound was garbled, vocals were lost....it was kind of a mess. I read a review of the show that I was at and I remember hearing their set referred to as a bad acid trip.

I've only one, and it didn't even work for more than about 30 seconds.

But, over the summer, I'd been chatting to this absurdly cute girl that works at a restaurant in town. She kept teasing me about the fact that I hadn't seen the latest Dark Knight film, and refused to go have a drink with me until I did.

Eventually, instead of going to see it, I just said I did, and when she asked me about it, I inserted characters from the movie into the plot of Cool Runnings.
