Nah, not really. But when I saw this Reitmans(a Canadian womens wear store) flyer in my newspaper today I automatically thought of Hannelore. The model's expression and pose look very Ha\nnerslike.
If you live near a Reitmans store you might be able to see this in even more giant size, as I spotted this picture today in the front window of one of hteir local outlets.
-
I suspect Raven may have sold covert photos of Hannelore to a Canadian modeling agency...her hobo-boyfriend was the cover story for her trip to Canada. 8)
-
See, THAT'S where she gets the money from.
-
Indeed...they have to bleach the studio before her shoots, though. Good job, craft services.
-
Well, it's nice to know that Hanners has a side hobby.
-
The real question is: Would Hanners ever wear zombie snowman pants? I know they're supposed to be reindeer, but just look at those gaping maws.
edit: I just realized I was probably confusing maws and noses. Still. They're scary!
-
Not just a model, but a dancer and actress too (http://forums.questionablecontent.net/index.php/topic,4954.msg1060708.html#msg1060708)!

Dammit, now I'm looking for the old "real-life Hanners" photo from ages ago - must've been on a hard drive that's dead now. I think celticgeek had a copy, too...
-
It wasn't from a SFW website. She looked rather strung out on something other than lack of sleep.
EDIT: She is showing up on the reitmans.com website (http://www.reitmans.com/PJ-Sets/Sleepwear_PJ_Sets,default,sc.html).

As a matter of fact: Real Hannelore - NSFW (http://www.celticgeek.com/images/Hannelore_Real.jpg)
-
I have a cropped version if anyone wants it.
-
basically perfect (http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aaep_prd/on/demandware.static/Sites-Reitmans_CA-Site/Sites/default/v1355413197868/Reitmans_CA/categories/pj2012/images/6.jpg)
I always thought the by-the-roadside-Hanners looked way too old for some reason.
-
Missing green eyes but yeah, scary-close.
-
Photographer: Hot mess!
Hanners: WHERE? Let me at it!
-
It's not just Hannelore...I do believe Yelling Bird had a photoshoot for a 2013 calendar...I saw this while walking through Staples:

Oh, man! Did you hear what he was saying?
-
Wait, is that the image that he uses/used as the original? It looks mighty similar.

she doesn't look old to me, but rather exhausted. or possibly a bit strung out.
am i the only one getting a really creepy 'last known photograph' kind of vibe from that picture though?

You're meant to. I suspect it's staged.
-
Definitely. Here's the post where I found the source (http://forums.questionablecontent.net/index.php/topic,27531.msg1061526.html#msg1061526).
-
Exhausted or strung out: just right for Hannelore.
I think the verdict of "creepy" is unanimous.
-
Kind of interesting:
Overwhelming consensus on the forum is that Hanners is adorable.
Overwhelming consensus on the same forum is that a photo nearly everyone agrees looks like she would look like in real life (even the SFW version) is creepy.
What's going on here? The question's not rhetorical, not confined to Hanners or even QC.
I don't have time to trawl the forum's geological layers, but I do remember a discussion over whether we'd want a Hanners in our lives for real, as much as we generally like her in the comic.
-
I dunno, I thought the creepiness came from the setting of the photo, not its existence.
EDIT AHHH LANGUAGE FAIL NEED SLEEP
-
Yeah, the whole scene of that picture of the half naked girl with her panties 'round her thighs on a roadside verge illuminated only by the headlights of a parked car is hella creepy.
The fashion model in the blue pyjamas and the scruffy hair is not.
Context is everything.
-
Please note I said: Even the SFW version, in which the headlights and undress are not apparent.
-
I think it's her eyes. I dunno. People are weird.
-

she also appears to have forgotten her pants (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=800)

it's a combination of things: the harsh low angle lighting, the outdoor location, the dark time of night, the expression and bodylanguage, tha haggard look of the girl's face. the human brain takes in all this data and, lacking context, attempts to descipher what it means using past experience; it tells us a fragmen of a story & that story isn't a pretty one.
a girl alone, outside at night in a dark & presumably isolated location. even if we can't see the car we can recognize the angle and quality of the light as characteristic of headlights. she looks like she's been through an ordeal, and doesn't seem to be aware she's about to have her picture taken.
who is she? where is she? and why is she there in the middle of the night? who is taking the picture? did he drive her there in his car, or did he come upon her while driving? and why is he taking a picture like this?
the whole thing looks like something ominous the police might find while investigating a missing person case. or possibly in some serial killer's trophy room, showing the last moments of a victim's life.
my compliments to the photographer and the model.
-
Context is everything... it's from an e-book called "the Big Bang", put out by Nerve magazine. The title of that photo is "Caught".
Apparently with her pants down...
On the photographer's website are several more pics of this model, many in some very compromising situations. There's one that's fairly safe for work, and looks a lot like Hannelore in a relaxed moment, laughing. But I'm not savvy enough to link directly to it. I'm not even going to link to the site, it's in the post I referenced earlier.

Wasn't there a comic a while back where Hanners somehow walked all the way to Coffee of Doom in just a shirt and panties?
-
...That was the link.
-
...That was the link.
Didn't notice it was a link. oops.
-
The mugs in the last panel there all look like pintsize a bit
-
Oh god, I wish I could unsee that photo.
We're used to seeing Hanners exhausted, strung out, etc., but always while she's surrounded by caring friends. The photo makes me think of just how much she would suffer if she were alone in a truly bad situation. Ouch.

Yelling Bird's Mexican cousin (http://pilli-adventure.com/?p=607)

I don't know if this has appeared on the forum before, but here's an article about a woman who breaks into houses to clean them: Hanners in about 30 years? (http://www.fox19.com/story/20650924/cleaning-fairy-arrested-while-shoveling-driveways-without-permission)
-
Yeetch. When I'm out at night shoveling a driveway I'll often add an elderly neighbor's sidewalk or cut a path for a neighbor with a bad back. I never thought it might be a police matter.

I had heard of homeless in Japan basically squatting in houses where the occupants were away on vacation. They bums would then proceed to tidy up the houses, and leave before the owners returned.

I suspect that case is slightly different, though, given her history. And, she wasn't charged for the shoveling.
-
When they say "$75 bill" I'm assuming they mean "invoice" rather than "paper money"? Because certainly in English law, she'd have no right to claim that money even if she hadn't broken in. What a weird way to make a living. Normally people just leave flyers advertising their availability...
-
By bill, yes they mean invoice.
Of course she has no right to the money. Unless the owners are actual clients agreeing to the work prior to it being done (and without the B&E part), she's got no claim. Or common sense.
I'm guessing enough gullible people actually sent her money for her "services" that she thought it was a viable career choice.
-
I thought it was unlikely there would be such a thing as a $75 note. But you never know, we have a £5 coin.
-
And I found a few $2 bills stashed away a few minutes ago.
-
One of the change machines at work takes $1s, $2s, and $5s.
-
I was in line behind a guy trying to buy five cartons of cigarettes at the local 7-11, with a $1000 bill (yes, a one thousand dollar bill). The clerk was obviously suspicious and called the police, but it turns out that it was genuine...a 1918 series at that, with Hamilton on the front. The cops explained that since it was technically a "Gold Certificate", it was no longer legal tender, but was probably worth a lot more than $1000 to the right collector.
-
Where did he get it?! How did he come by it without knowing that it was valuable beyond its face value?
-
Probably from someone's collection. Which is an entirely different problem...
I have a 1909 VDB penney I found in a "take-a-penney/leave-a-penney" bin at a local convenience store. While not an "S" (they're worth about $500), it's worth a few bucks, and was obviously in one of those cardboard collection folders for a long time - the face is worn, but the back is almost perfect. Someone clearly took what was probably a valuable collection, and popped all the coins out for change!
-
Perfect body structure and facial resemblance to Hanners with just the right haircut to pull it off.
Good find.
