I've been a fan of QC for a couple years and have lurked the forums for a while, particularly when there's lovely drama in the comic.

I'm sure I'll be slipping in on updates which prompt discussion. Particularly when Mar-bear and Hanners are involved. I love them both oh so much.

Let's see... I'm 29. Run a movie theatre in Michigan. Write for a small little webcomic of my own and own over 30 Nic Cage movies with the goal of someday owning all of them.

Right now Claire is my favorite character, beating our MarMar. Jeph is handling her so damn well and tastefully. I really hope everyone else is enjoying her story as much as I am :)

I'm originally from Britland, though. Apparently no matter what I live I'll be English. The silly voice won't let me settle anywhere.

As opposed to a Reading pun. I have one of those in my front yard. It's a bunch of directional signs on a 4x4 post. My mom gave us half the cost of the then-cottage at a time when she lived outside Redding CA. So the signs first pointed to Redding, 1879 miles, Reading PA, 480 miles and Reading MI, 3 1/2 miles. The joke was local. Where I live, it's pronounced REED-ing.

I'm not sure what adjectives I'd use. But they'd be positive ones. The accent was a measurable part of the pleasure of driving 800 miles or so with a bright young British woman of the forum's acquaintance last summer.

Post by: Carl-E on 31 Mar 2013, 18:10: I enjoy the sound of someone educated, regardless of dialect. A refined southern accent is one thing; Honey Boo-boo's family is quite another. The same holds for any other accent.

Yes, I'm elitist. When someone opens their mouth and you can immediately tell that they're undereducated, or perhaps just don't care, it's an intellectual turn off.

This should probably go in "confessions"...

You know... I never thought about it. I wonder if there is a psychological reason that people in America love British accents.
