No, I embedded the soundcloud files...are they not working? They're showing up for me.

I think YouTube and Soundcloud links don't show in Tapatalk.

YouTube doesn't, so it makes sense that Soundcloud wouldn't either. Well hopefully he checks it out when he's on a computer.

I just edited the first post to put links in as well, so people can listen here or go there directly.

First link is broken. It directs to forums.questionablecontent.net/soundcloud

Does it handle Flash?  That's how Soundcloud links are displayed.

Nope. I'll listen to the songs as soon as I'm back home, which for me will mean Monday.

BTW, I would have expected this thread to be in the BAND section, really.

Really? I thought BAND was just the music equivalent of ENJOY, and that this was where you put stuff you, well, you know...made. (I don't venture out of QC Discussion/Discuss often.) Should I move it?

I second what Method of Madness said, I posted a link to my blog in MAKE as well, and there are songs on that one.

Band has always been for everything music.  There are threads on building guitars as well as buying and lusting over them (and making a chamber organ (http://forums.questionablecontent.net/index.php/topic,27664.0.html) ;) ); and a thread specifically for discussing your own music (http://forums.questionablecontent.net/index.php/topic,25849.0.html).  Actually, at times I think of merging Make and Enjoy as I see them as being both sides of the same types of art, just as Band has creation and enjoyment side by side.  So, yes, I'd be more comfortable with this thread moving, but I won't force the issue.

Incidentally, Band is also the only subforum that has never been pruned of older and possibly embarrassing posts either by me or by my predecessors.  It sort-of parallels the earlier parts of QC being so tied in with indie music culture.

It just makes more sense to me for something homemade to go to MAKE. Then again, I made these songs entirely on my computer, rather than with instruments, so it could just as easily have gone into CLIKC. But if that's what the subfora actually are, then I'll move it.

So you, ah...messed up the move? :P

The classy thing would be not to call attention to it. (I selected BAND, then had to go back, then went forward again and it reset...but I sent it back to MAKE before moving it here, so...no.) Also, it's a little bit frustrating to keep seeing replies to this message, and none of them are from people who have actually listened to the songs yet!

I can see how that would be frustrating...so I'll end this post here.

I kid, I kid. Of the three, I'd probably say that (Titled) was my favourite. The guitar(?) was perhaps a bit too loud in parts or other instruments too quiet, but it seemed to get in the way of some other bits. The section(s) from 0:40 to about 1:30 were an odd mix with the guitar, but I liked them.

ICHNIWGIA seemed a bit of a mish-mash, though that may well be why it's titled what it is. There's bits in there that sound like they could be used as a soundtrack to a film or something. (~0:50-1:20, 2:19-end)

Thanks! And yeah, ICHNIWGIA was, as its name suggests, intentionally all over the place. I made these for fun, but ended liking how they sounded so I figured I'd share them. Also, if you couldn't tell, each song is 64 bars, split up into four (mostly) distinct sections. (Also, there's always one sample that plays the whole 64, in What./ICHNIWGIA it's a drum sample, but it's the guitar in (Titled), which is why it seems like it's a bit overpowering, but really everything else is accompanying it, so I guess it should be out front and center. Or maybe it shouldn't be, I'm still learning :D

Thanks again for your input! I haven't made any since Thursday, but I might make a few this upcoming week. If I do, I'll share them here.
