Title: Steam-based Multiplayer?
Post by: de_la_Nae on 25 Jul 2013, 21:00
Yo. I know some of you other schmucks use Valve's "GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY" service, and that at least a few of us have Monaco and Awesomenauts and stuff. Anyone possibly interested in adding a few 'friend' connections and occasionally adventure?

I'll start things off, my tag should be uh.... Kell4077. If you add me, let me know who you are on here. I will warn you, I don't have a very regular schedule, and am not always in the mood for multiplayer, but I do enjoy it sometimes. Hit me up!

We've got a steam group somewhere, though it's not active at all. Also I quit it by mistake.

There is, by the way, three hits for Kell4077. I'll go with the one that lives the same place as you. I'm totally up for some mumble-based Awesomenauts shenanigans.

(Also I see you are playing Geneforge there, good choice, good choice)

Team Fortress? Left 4 Dead? Definitely up for those

Oh, I should have checked that. I'm the one with the orc warlock whipping the crying blood elf, yeah.

Piece Master: I don't have those I'm afraid, else I'd be game. Someday... (p.s. definitely a couple of the other people around here have TF2 at least, looking at my new friendlist.)

I'm mtmerrick (of course). Av is a google android wearing a TNG era starfleet uniform.

I'd love to add you guys, I use steam as one of my primary chat clients.

Sadly,  AFAIK my only multi-player game is Portal 2.

It's a good thing that Team Fortress is FREE!

Piece Master? That's the first time I heard that. I usually get Masturbate.

@mtmerrick, why is Portal 2 a bad thing? You know what, let's boot it up today, and play some custom maps. I know a few good ones.

Hey, Masterpiece, which Masterpiece are you? There's quite a few.

(Not posting my own name because I took this account over from my father, so it has his name on it. I'm fine with posting my own name online, but I'll let him decide where he puts his and all that).

I...didn't know that.

Well, I don't know if I can run it, but I'll give it a go.

On a related note, Christ, that Meet the Pyro video.

So, Um, I can't seem to be able to find you. The link won't let me add you and you're not showing up in search.  :psyduck:

Also, who are Rimat and Kell? They're friend requests I have sitting here.

EDIT: There is absolutely nothing wrong with portal 2. I love it, in fact. I was simply expressing disappointment that I can't play with you guys because you were losing games i don't have.

Odd, that *should* say Kell4077. Anyway, that's me you dork. A la the first post.

Rimat *is* someone here, but I'll let them ID themselves as they will.

I'd have posted on your comment page, Merrick, but it won't let me.

The only things that I have currently installed that support co-op and/or multiplayer are Portal 2, Unreal Tournament 2004, Borderlands 2, and Zeno Clash 2. The last two I haven't started playing yet so if anyone wants a fresher to tag along with, I'm your guy (http://steamcommunity.com/id/LTK_70/).

Hey, according to Steam it was 7 years ago yesterday that I first joined. That's cool.

That was me. Has had it as that since a while back; mostly because I liked that picture as an avatar. :-)

Changed to something more 'me', though. It's Hulderin (http://steamcommunity.com/id/Hulderin/) now.

Megami returns 1306 results, so might be easier to link your profile. :psyduck:

Here we are.. there was actually a number on the end of it that I forgot about: megami7502 (http://steamcommunity.com/id/megami7502)

I'm not quite sure what that "psyduck" icon is supposed to represent.. is that kinda of like a -_- ?

Does Civilization V have multiplayer? I have it on Steam, but I haven't played it in ages.
Title: Re: Steam-based Multiplayer?
Post by: LTK on 29 Jul 2013, 09:50
...ages.
HEYOOOOOO

Anyway, I'm not much of a strategy gamer but I have spent a fair bit of time with Warlock: Master of the Arcane, with is kiiiiinda sorta like Civ only you're a despotical warmongering wizard hell-bent on the destruction of your magical rivals. I'd like to try that in multiplayer if anyone is willing and able.

Post by: henri bemis on 30 Jul 2013, 00:55
CivV has online multiplayer, though I've never used it - I've only ever played local mp, but I really like the game, and it's been awhile since I played.  I don't like posting links to my other accounts/private information publicly, but I don't mind sharing in pm if you wanted to start a game.
Title: Re: Steam-based Multiplayer?
Post by: ChaoSera on 30 Jul 2013, 01:15
Civ V does indeed have Multiplayer and it's insanely fun.
Same as henri I don't really like posting my profile link in public, but feel free to pm me if you're up for a round and want to add me. Civ V is seriously one of the best games ever made.
Title: Re: Steam-based Multiplayer?
Post by: kelpy on 30 Jul 2013, 02:22
I think I'll get used to civ 5 before I start a game with anyone, since I haven't played much, but after that heck yeah. argh, I have to install it (along with the other bazillion games we've bought but I haven't bothered to install)
Title: Re: Steam-based Multiplayer?
Post by: kyomi on 30 Jul 2013, 05:14
I think the only thing I have that's MP is FPS games.. Serious Sam games, Unreal Tournament games and the like.

I'm sorry I haven't been too active other than some chatting here and there. Work and relationship break-up has been using most of my 'interact with people' emotional currency lately.

Most likely why I'm still single... I'm *not* giving up my gaming for anyone. To take a quote from today's QC they could all "suck kobold dicks"

It's too much trouble really all the money spending and time away.. I have too many games I need to finish or even play to begin with. Not to mention all the programs and remix attempts I've started.  Hope you feel better soon :)

Hey people, I have a few coupons for some games on Steam that I don't plan on using.  I figured I'd offer them up here if anyone is interested in them.

I have:
two 10 % off Shadow Warrior (http://store.steampowered.com/app/233130/) coupons
50 % off Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton edition (http://store.steampowered.com/app/225140/?snr=1_7_15__13) coupon
33 % off Foul Play (http://store.steampowered.com/app/244810/) coupon
25 % off Volgarr The Viking (http://store.steampowered.com/app/247240/) coupon
two 10 % off Toki Tori 2+ (http://store.steampowered.com/app/201420/?snr=1_7_15__13) coupons

I'm zenith1047 on Steam.  If you're interested in any of these games and want one of my coupons for them, just add me and I can send it to you.

I also play a lot of games on Steam, but I generally do single player... Lately all I've been playing has been Magic 2014.  So I could duel any of you guys in sealed play if you have it!

Yeah, I bought it about a week ago when it was 50 % off.  It's been only a week or so and I've already logged 24 h on it--which is a ton for me, a semi-workaholic with a full-time job.

I started trying multiplayer on Saturday--the match making isn't so great, imo.  About 50 % of the time it just fails to connect, and in a majority of the matches I find, the host is afk.  But, yeah... if I'm on, you can just battle me or whatever.  I don't know how inviting someone to a duel works yet...

There used to be a free version of magic that you could play.. I used it a few years ago. I think it was called "Apprentice" or something like that. There was also another program that would draft out cards tournament style to the people and then divide them up to play in Apprentice with the decks they received.  It was pretty cool and I miss playing it.. if only I could remember what it was and maybe get a group going.
