It would be less expensive to buy a new one and have him sign it at a con. I predict it'll go to an insane price-point even if he doesn't sign it.

Bidders will determine. What did that Vol. 1 with the misprinted cover go for, again? I recall Jeph expressing amazement. Amusement. Maybe both.

Until you come across some of his personal... stash. Things that should never ever be PONDERED let alone discussed. Things that make the worst deprived fan-speculation and shipping seem tame.

And of course the super-secret file that contains the REAL ending to the series.

I'd probably too worried to check the ending.

I remember a certain 7th book of a series...

He went and did it. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-Macbook-Air-11-plus-a-whole-bunch-of-QC-goodies-/331073156834) It's at $660 as I type this.

EDIT: The strips come on a USB stick at PNG web resolution.

Tai's word bubble in the last panel should have a question mark, not a period.

I hope Jeph doesn't change it. :parrot:

Rhetorical question, or statement in the form of a question. Either way, it's fine the way it is

It doesn't lack a question mark because it's rhetorical, it lacked a question mark because it's being said like a statement (as in, no raising in pitch at the end). Like "what."

More Dora/Tai cuteness.

Dora certainly is showing a more mature attitude here as is, surprisingly, Tai. Definitely a fair bit of character growth and change for these two here.

There's actually a pretty cool collection of QC goodies that come with it. Don't think I would buy a laptop just to get them, but if I were after one (and he shipped to Australia, which he won't), then it would be tempting.

Actually the inflation got so bad that those don't exist anymore (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7859033.stm), so if you're trying to use Zimbabwean dollars you actually bid fifty trillion US dollars (http://www.economist.com/news/finance-and-economics/21576665-grubby-greenbacks-dear-credit-full-shops-and-empty-factories-dollars-they), at least for now (http://www.thenational.ae/business/industry-insights/economics/unpopular-zimbabwe-dollar-set-to-return).

I really laughed out loud at the look on Dora's face. Also, I like the censorship; it'd be a shame to lose the tradition of funny strategic placement of random items that the strip has had for so long.

I was picturing Dora exasperated and Marten looking sheepish like he knew he shouldn't ask but couldn't help it, but your way might work even better. :-D

It's a smart academic pun. In the US dissertations are done after extensive studies that require you to pass an initial oral examination before you are allowed to start researching for the dissertation.

Basically, Tai has a PhD in lovemaking :-D

Yes! I don't think we've ever seen Dora and Tai dancing together, much less booty-dancing, and I know it'd be hilarious in a cute way... Remembering Dora's very lady-like booty dance re:Marty, and then considering that Tai's used to dancing to techno at wild college parties, I so wanna see it.

Dancing could also be prefaced by Faye & Marty nervously asking them if everything's ok.

Of course, booty dances are usually for the first time a couple has sex, which this clearly wasn't... But it seems to have been the first time for something.

1) I'm not sure we've established that Marten is all that bad at relationships. I know of only two, Dora and Padme. I'm not sure if there is a list of relationship fouls, but he didn't seem to commit any that I saw. They seemed, at best, a joint effort at relationship dissolution. I'm not sure what would constitute 'bad at relationships' for dudes. I dated very little before my first marriage, and my second foray was me in LTRs wherein I ended the relationships after six months to a year after serious soul-searching and a decision this wasn't who I wanted to marry. (After 35 and wanting kids gives a diff. timeline than dating in the 20's).
2)Re: Christmas music. LOL. There is a vaccine for Christmas music. Its freaking awesome. I start playing these after Thanksgiving, pretty much continuously. Have for years. Anymore, when I hear the real songs, my mind just automatically inserts the 'proper' lyrics.

Yeah, I don't know that either. The only thing I remember is the series alluded to some girl he came across the continent to follow, and then stayed in MA after they broke up. But it was all prologue.
I actually went back to the beginning to double-check. It was 1) abortive relationship with Faye, 2)Dora, 3)Padme, 4)Chick on space station if you want to include her. I remember because there was a whole "Are you SURE its okay?" with Faye when Dora and Marten started dating. I mean, its been like four years since I first read the whole series, but I'm 90% sure there wasn't anybody between Dora and Padme.
Edit:Thanks Carl-E. Can you refresh my memory who this Vicky is? Also, wow. Dora really is/was kind of nuts if thats not play-jealousy.

Dora and Padma are the only ones in series, but the comic Carl linked mentions his four high school girlfriends. He's mentioned Vicky in college (and we don't know how many others in college). We know he's slept with at least three people (I don't know if he slept with Vicky, but he lost his virginity in the back of a small car before the strip started).

Maybe a little discontinuity, or maybe he doesn't count all the girls who "dumped him" in high school as having attained true "girlfriend" status, 'cause just recently he said he'd had "four or five girlfriends" with Dora as #4 and Padma as the or-five. http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2569

Not intended to test the mods limits of patience, just out of curiousity: Is shipping two characters that are in a relationship really shipping in the exact sense of the definition? A lot of the unpleasantness of 'bending the plot to suit your favorite fiction until it breaks' does not come into play in that case, no? (If one ignores the annoying delightfull tendency to blend the floating bodies respective first names into ... interesting & aesthetically pleasing neologisms, that is)

However when her mother did arrive, they managed to bond (http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=921[/url) a little. When Beatrice told Hannelore she loves her, (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=922) Hanners seemed to say it back with relative ease (despite peeing).

Hanners also seems to like her dad, she seems aware between his work and the state of her OCD during her childhood, a close relationship was always unlikely. She definitely doesn't come across as resentful about it anyway. (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2146)

It can also be speeded up by branch prediction. Enterprise deployments are facilitated by the accompanying Plant Manager® software.

Okay, I have seen plenty of wood cabinets for PC's on the interwebs, after a cursory search.

But seriously - a wooden APC would have to live in a sterile environment and have regular dust filter removal to be viable outside someplace like HannerDad's space station.

It's not like I'm knocking wood, of course...

Not in origin; "mare" (English) is from "*marhijō", a feminine form of "*marhaz", horse (possibly of Celtic origin), while "mær" (Icelandic and Old Norse) is from "*mawī", a feminine form of "*maguz", boy (of PIE origin).

In Danish, however, "mær" means mare, not maiden ...

Oh, and in French, "maire" (from Latin "major") means master, and gave rise to Middle English "mer", "mair", meaning mayor. :)
