I've been reading this comic since 2007. Holy shit. Comic 1000 had just happened when I started. I think I've gone through four different regular usernames since this one. Figured since it's been so long, I may as well make a new intro thread.
It's also hard to believe that there are still message boards that haven't been killed by social media. S'what happened to my old one, anyway.

The very fact that message boards are not social media is what appeals to me.
I can reveal things about myself on here, even with my face as my avatar, with a level of deniability and without my family in the immediate vicinity or my full name involved. On other forums I'm more anonymous than on here, even.
This forum is like my port in a storm now...

You know, I don't have my real name on Facebook for that exact reason, nor do I have any family other than my mother (who is a bit more agreeable). While I wish it hadn't killed forums, that's essentially how I use it, minus the fact that I keep my list of contacts brief.
With that said, is there any way to change your nick here?
