The Steam sale thread! (By which I mostly mean major sales, but whatever's fine as well)
This year's Christmas loot (so far):
Invisible, Inc. (http://store.steampowered.com/app/243970/)
Stealth-based roguelike. Very fun. Details to follow after I've played it some more. Would definitely recommend, though be careful of LP videos out there since they may be of older builds. I watched a couple of SplatterCat's videos and it's gotten a lot better since then. Very fun.
Shadowrun Returns (http://store.steampowered.com/app/234650/)
Looks pretty good. Haven't played it yet.
Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut (http://store.steampowered.com/app/300550/)
Also looks good. Haven't played it yet.
Amplitude Endless Pack (http://store.steampowered.com/app/289130/)
Haven't played yet. A tad wary about this one, but from what I've seen of it it looks fun.
What have you guys got?
-
I picked up civ5 a few days ago + Castle Crashers a few weeks ago and I'm waiting until I have more money in steam to buy anything else (I believe I'm getting steam money for Christmas).
I have most things I want atm, but if some stuff goes on sale significantly I'll probably buy them. Depending on the money I get I'm looking at XCOM, anno 2070, Rome 2 and Dark Souls 2.
-
Transistor is a tempting grab... I am not sure if I should get it though

Did you like Bastion?
-
If yes, then get Transistor. If no, then get Transistor.
-
If no then get Transistor.
-
If [null] then buy Bastion.
-
Well if you haven't played either I'd get Bastion first. Mostly because it'll be cheaper. If money isn't as big of a deal to you as it is me though then I guess you have 51 minutes to get Transistor before it goes off sale.
-
No, the offer lasts until the day after as well. Also, The Stanley Parable is on sale now. It is a superb game, one of the best and funniest ever, you should get it if you know enough about games to see it deconstruct them in such a brilliant way, and if you're reading this thread, you most likely do.
Oh I almost forgot: Play the demo. (http://store.steampowered.com/app/221910/) If that won't convince you I think nothing will.

The reviews are all hilarious:
Only game I've ever played where I've been perfectly happy to voluntarily sit in a broom closet for 10 minutes.
-
I got Terraria as a gift
And I bought both KOTOR games and Audiosurf 2
-
So I got $20 in steam money - but I don't know what to spend it on. Truly a dilemma.
Kinda banking on Galactic Civilizations 3 to go on sale, but I doubt it considering it was released just months ago.
-
I got myself £50 in Steam credit. Now the question is: "Will I run out of money or space first?"
-
What a luxury, to be limited by money or space. My most limited resource is time.
-
What's the point of getting Steam money? I just pay via PayPal and thus don't have to put forth a fixed amount of money that can only be used on Steam.
-
Or just buy the game through steam individually. Whichever, really.
I have been able to buy games with money I got selling items on the marketplace though.
-
Blah been trying to make a purchase but the site keeps crashing for me. :-P
-
I've never spent too much, or even more than I wanted to, but if I limit myself to buying games in the sale with Steam money then I'm less likely to fill my library up with games I'll never play.
-
I noticed they changed the Marketplace from how it was...uh...well, back when it launched.
Seems like it makes it harder to play it. Probably for the best.
-
Civs 3-5 with all DLCs and expansions on daily deal right now. Total of about £10.
-
I've honestly not gone all that crazy on the steam sales this year, or even been all that interested. I picked up a couple that have been on my wishlist for a while because they were 50-75% off. But I'm starting to reach game saturation point here. I have so many unfinished or even unplayed games and so much of what is out feels so samey to me. It has to be something really impressive to make me want go crazy for something.
-
Yeah I'm finding I have most games I want already. The only things I have picked up were some indie games and Wolfenstein: New Order which I heard was fantastic. After seeing the DOOM gameplay last night at E3 I may have been wrong to avoid Wolfenstein last year.
