I was wondering what they were gonna do once they ran out of interesting historical settings. This looks interesting, although I've never really gotten into Warhammer. Looking forward to the first real game footage.

Nah I didnt' think they ran out of historical settings.  I'm still waiting for one about the waring states period of China, or India.  Also Ancient times when the major world powers were the Aegeans, Hittites, Babylonians, Kretans, and Egyptians.  Culminating into the Sea People (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Peoples) invasion, which annihilated all but the Egyptians.  Although the Egyptians didn't get annihilated like the other 4, the battles were so bad that their dynasty didn't recover.

I'm not the biggest Warhammer fan, but I actually like this idea. Let's be honest, they've been retreading the same ground since Empire and it doesn't look like they'll break that pattern with their historical titles any time soon. The system, however, is ripe for adaptation to other properties. How cool would a Middle Earth: Total War be? Or maybe a Game of Thrones: Total War? Both properties are also ripe for sequels given the layers of established history in both universes.
