Dear all,
I need to get something off my chest. I didn't know QC until about a week when I stumbled across by accident. I have been in a strange condition ever since. So here's my story:
I used to work in chem lab when one day I got new intern. She was a skinny redhead girl in her mid twenties, with huge blue eyes and glasses. She appeared a bit too smart, nerdy, but I later learned that this was basically her insecurity because she didn't have any experience in love and never had a boyfriend before. Someday she told me how much she likes to be at the hairdresser because she loves when somebody plays with her hair.
Long story short: Two years later we get married and have been happy ever since (well, at least most of the time), and it has become my ritual of love to play with her hair.
Now I come across that "Floofy" scene (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2799 (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2799)) and... wait a minute! What we got here? A skinny redhead intern in her mid twenties with huge blue eyes and glasses, who has never kissed a guy before, enjoying getting her hair played by a guy in love??? What's going on here?
So, after I got the whole story, call me stupid, but I am just so happy for Claire. I can't stop wondering why I care for a fictional character, but I can't stop reading her story over and over again and just feel so happy for her. My wife appreciates it very much as well, because she's getting a huge surplus of hair play these days.
Best wishes,
That lab tech

Life imitates art.
Welcome!
(I'm happy for you too).

Greetings Newbie
And an interesting comparison between art and life
Oh, and *Melts your Lug Wrench*
-
You mean to say: my life is art.
-
Art, life, what's the difference?

Price.

"The Game of Life" used to have a picture of Art Linkletter on the box in the 1960s.
-
Life is performance art, maybe? Or maybe it's only some lives.

Hi, me again.
Wanted to say another thing: Reading Claire's story somehow triggered something inside me. It's like it "rebooted" the crush I used to have on my wife when I first met her. And I catch myself telling my wife things like: "You're cute when you're reasonable." and "You're super pretty and I'm really into you."
What is happening to me??? Never mind, feels good!
-
Does she know about this?
-
Sure, I told her.
And she told me how much of a crush she had on Luke Skywalker...
-
Ummmm
Pardon me for asking another Mod about his/her motivation, but how come this got shifted to here from where it was?

Read first post. Letter of introduction.

Obvious - the lug wrench.

By the way: are the characters on QC getting older at all? How old is Marten by now? 35?
-
Time in QC runs much slower than in real life, though paradoxically the date remains current when real-world events are referenced. There is a thread with a fairly detailed chronology (https://forums.questionablecontent.net/index.php/topic,30197.0.html) of the strip.

Hey, Nepiophage!
Much thanks for bringing that word to my attention! Turns out to be my new favorite!

You're welcome. I just happened to be surfing and I came across it. Complete with blue eyes and red hair! What would Arthur Koestler say to that, eh? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Roots_of_Coincidence)

"This must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays."
No, wait, wrong Arthur, never mind...
