Title: Online web/flash games
Post by: Welu on 16 Jul 2015, 13:18
I didn't see a thread dedicated to online games specifically.

I personally like puzzle and physic games, which there are a good amount of online. Escape the room and point-and-click horrors are fun too.

Some personal recommendations (all Armor Games because it's the only one I have an account on):

http://armorgames.com/play/10638/sugar-sugar - Puzzle/physics

http://armorgames.com/play/4839/wake-up-the-box - Puzzle/physics

http://armorgames.com/play/12586/piggy-wiggy - Puzzle/physics and ridiculously cute graphics

http://armorgames.com/play/7496/nuclearoids - Puzzle/physics and makes pretty noises

http://armorgames.com/play/12389/rebuild-2 - Save the city, build resources, defend from zombies, strategy style game

My personal favourites:

A Dark Room (http://adarkroom.doublespeakgames.com/)

Candy Box (http://candies.aniwey.net/)

Candy Box 2 (http://candybox2.net/)

Cookie Clicker (http://orteil.dashnet.org/cookieclicker/)

All of these are 'idle games'. You'll probably want to leave them idling in a browser tab for best results. Initially they don't look like much, but the game quickly starts to reveal itself to you. I do recommend seeing how deep their respective rabbit holes go.

I like browser games that take advantage of their format. Chances are you already have a few browser tabs open and are switching between them intermittently. Idle games fit in there, they can be played just by checking up on them once in a while, rather than having to devote your full attention to. I have plenty of games where I can do that already.

But as far as browser game accumulators go, I think Nitrome is a good one.

A Dark Room is a new one to me and I'm liking it so far.

I would recommend the entire Riddle School series for those who like puzzles, and Riddle Transfer 1 as well. Sadly, Riddle Transfer was supposed to be a 5 game series and jonbro kinda snapped out of the whole "Riddle" project and cancelled with 2 and 3 in development.

Order would be RS 1 thru 5. 4 is an April Fools joke, but it's important to the story. And after that, Riddle Transfer.
