I love the first day of class. There's no teaching, and I get to see all the people making fashion choices they're gonna regret in a few weeks.
All downhill from there. That dude with the thick-rim glasses, fedora and denim jacket is gonna realize he looks like a serial killer, and I'm gonna have to actually do classwork.
Side Note:
I realize there's a decent chance of me being just as embarassed by how I look. That's why I chose a Spiderman shirt over the brand new 'X-Mark brand lawnmowers' shirt my dad gave me. Much as I love that shirt, and plan to keep it in good shape for ironic wearing, I don't know how well irony translates on first impressions. I'm waiting until I've been in enough class discussions to let people know I'm not ACTUALLY a redneck.

With my girlfriend teaching and my kid in school, the first day of class for me is mostly an empty house after 6 weeks of holiday.

I just wanna start teaching again (maybe that's just because what I've been doing over the summer is for shit?). Haven't gotten sick of kids yet, wonder when that starts to happen.

Sell it to an undergrad wannabe marine biologist for $125. You're still taking a loss, but at least it's more acceptable.

It's now 2 editions old. Could probably get $20 on ebay or some shit, but I mine as well keep it now. I do have to brush up on some of that stuff, especially since I want to get my teaching certification in science.
