Title: Recording gameplay
Post by: LeeC on 18 Nov 2015, 10:03
So I am trying to record game play and its been going pretty good.  I've noticed that when I play fallout 4 or SC2 my FPS drop under 60 and it looks like crap... but only when I record.  If I'm not recording everything looks great!  I'm not sure if I need more RAM (currently at 8GB), better recording software (mirillis ACTION!), or if I need to get a dedicated capture card installed on my computer.

I already upgraded my graphics card to an nvidia gtx 970.

Have you tried using the graphics card's own recorder? nVidia cards since the 660 have a recorder that records the GPU's output - In fact, that's why they created Shadowplay.

I'd use Shadowplay, but apparently it doesn't work for non-GTX cards :meh:
