I wish winter was coming, it's December, it's Wisconsin, and it's 56 degrees and raining.I'm planning on driving home to visit my mom over Christmas. I fully expect a blizzard to show up that day.
Oh, you guys mean in-comic...

As horrible as thumb-limbs?
I don't see a new comic up yet.
I think TieDyeKat confused the current one for a new one.
Jeph has posted on his Twitter thingy that tomorrow's comic won't be up until after midnight Eastern Time.
Marten and Claire are a thing as are Clinton and Emily
Seriously, something tells me that it's going to very quickly become Penny's lair; Dora and Tai are just going to have to find somewhere else to do their hanky-panky!Definitely the copy room at the library.

Definitely the copy room at the library.
Actually, I do think that this is the first time we've seen the office at CoD.
It's probably because I don't like Tai, but I find her really creepy in this one.
Marten and Claire are a thing as are Clinton and Emily
I'd want to see more evidence before making that judgement about Clinton and Emily. One weird date, and being engineered into getting left alone together in the park does not 'a thing' make. Especially as you never really know where you are with Emily.
Dora and Tai are just going to have to find somewhere else to do their hanky-panky!

What other places are still available at CoD? The bathroom (but customers can go there), the dung... basement, the back alley or the roof.
I thought the cuteness was off the charts on this one.
What's the deal with gratuitously calling Penelope "Pen2"? :?

Working at CoD means subjecting yourself to a neverending parade of inventive nicknamery (http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=729)
Or is it a message from Jeph to the timeline thread, saying "oh COD no, I'm not showing you a calendar"?The last calendar was from the 18th century, so...

That is a large box of knives in the back office.

Just an external reference. Pen2 or Pen-pen is a character - Misato's intelligent pet penguin - in the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion.
I wouldn't. At 200 dB you have a pressure of +-1 atm. That can actually rupture your alveoles. Generally speaking, 200dB are an acoustic pressure that is potential lethal. That is the definition of Daft - doing something that is potentially lethal to oneself and ones surroundings for "fun".
Man, Emily has some wide hips going on there.
Today's comic featuring Mara Wilson and her saltines.
I read that as 'saltiness' rather than 'saltines' at first. I was left wondering what was pissy about her Twitter feed, and was thoroughly confused when there was no pissiness to be found.Today's comic featuring Mara Wilson and her saltines.
I thought that adorable little face looked familiar.

The comic is up! And...Hanners looks hella creepy, or is that just me?
Hah! I have a "Mr. Burny" at my workplace too, except it's an Oxy-Acetalene torch. And when the two combine... It's Mr. Sparkle!
(But sometimes it's "The Sparkle Wrench" depending on which tip I'm using.)

I was hoping Emily would be tasked with writing on the board.
I'm kinda wondering why its Hanners who is training Emily? Shouldn't that be the responsibility of Dora or Penelope?
Since no one has said it yet in this thread... "Carpe Opus" is perfectly good Latin. Opus is third declension neuter, so its accusative form is identical to its nominative form.Dang it, ya beat me to it.
I like the "Bioware trash" shirt that lady is wearing, with the plaid. Is it a subtle reference to his new home? A random style choice? An reference to an obscure band from Halifax that makes subtle social commentary on the issue of "brain drain" from the maritimes to the central and western provinces? I want to know!
I would find it difficult to believe that a grad student has never had coffee, but I could believe that Emily rarely has coffee and has never had any this strong.Since Emily is of Japanese descent, she may well have only had tea at home. Though come to think of it, when she and her parents had a meal together (http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2330), they seem to be eating Western-style food with knives & forks.
Definitely glad that Jeph went back to drawing Hanners sans-lips. Despite the different style in the eyes, she looks much more like herself than she has done the past couple of days.Man, this forum shows how much I miss. I honestly didn't notice the lips or the removal of them until people mentioned them here.
More like "The sleeper is bouncing off the walls and vacuuming the same 3 square feet of carpet for 5 hours"That's why Hanners knows this was a mistake. Vacuuming the same carpet for 5 hours is her job.
Emily is naturally very energetic, she might not have coffee to keep herself awake. With that in mind, she might have taken up different beverages for idle periods.
My new Minecraft persona is going to be "Bleminda". What? It's taken already??That name is not found on ANY servers on Warcraft.
Either "Coffee so strong I had to file for a restraining order" or it's the first time Emily has coffee.Well, the basement does need the arachnids removed before the roasting training can progress and Emily is the one most likely to move them to new accommodations without loss of limb. Human or Spider.
"I'm going back to drawing hanners without lips because it just looks weird to me now"
Prediction: Emily turns into a Salamander, Jeph realizes that was a mistake, and we never talk about it again.
Oh dear.. This can't be good.
*heads for the bomb shelter*

Nuclear launch detected.
Emily has just had her first espresso shot. Thus begins the Apocalypse.Only if she shares with Pintsize.

I was going to say I've seen this episode but that episode
NEVER.
HAPPENED.
The fourth entry on this list (http://io9.gizmodo.com/10-tv-episodes-that-everybody-pretends-never-happened-1657886672) explains the salamander thing. I've never watched Voyager and had no idea what to expect when googling "salamander episode never speak of this" :psyduck:
So Emily has a reaction that is completely out of her control and Dora gets pissed at her? If she drinks coffee again knowing this happens I could see getting frustrated but what the fuck, Dora?

I don't think I'm going to run to watch it, either.
honestly, any time star trek brings up the theory of evolution, you're in for a bad time.Pretty much anything directly science or engineering related the new Treks somehow gets it all wrong.

That was not an ordinary espresso shot. That was the first espresso shot ever made by noob Emily. It may never be duplicated.
And Voyager was blessedly free of holodeck episodes and Q.

DS9 was the shit, but even that had the occasional awful episode. Like (shudders) Risa.

The writers don't talk to or just ignore science for the story THEY want to tell and to hell with continuity or consistency.
I think thats why Bab5 or even Captain Power was much better story wise.
