Title: RIP Frank Kelly
Post by: TheEvilDog on 28 Feb 2016, 07:18
The Irish actor Frank Kelly passed away today at the age of 77. (http://www.thejournal.ie/frank-kelly-rip-father-jack-2630816-Feb2016/)

Mr. Kelly was most famous for his role in the Irish/English comedy series, Father Ted, where he played Father Jack Hackett, a drunk elderly priest.

If you were around my age, then chances are you grew up laughing at the antics of Ted and Dougal, but it was Father Jack were drew the biggest laughs. Chances are, if you were to ask someone to quote the show, you'll either get "The money was only resting in my account" or more often one of Jack's lines, "I'm soooo sorry!" being a particular favourite of mine.

I got the chance to talk to him very briefly when I was in college and I have to say, I could not have met a nicer man.

In a strange bit of coincidence, he passed away 18 years to the day after his Father Ted co-star, Dermot Morgan, perhaps proving God does exist and he has a sense of humour.

Bye Frank, thanks for all the laughs.

Feck! Arse!  In his honour, I'm giving Father Ted a re-watch.
