Hey everyone,
I felt that I had to post something because it is a rare piece of work to produce such an emotional response from me. No TV show or movie has stirred me like QC. There are a few books which have made a grown man cry ( Sirius/Dumbledore death ) but QC ranks alongside them as affecting me deeply.
It is difficult to explain why this is the case. I binged on the entire collection over 3 days and then read them again a bit slower ,appreciating each comic rather than rushing through the plot. The dialogue is witty and real. The plots are engaging and you can relate to the characters ( sometimes too much). Perhaps the best thing about the comic is that interspersed through the laughs , robot hi-jinks and indie music. There are real life problems, emotional turmoil and heartbreaking situations. Two moments that hit me hardest
Dora and Marten's breakup
Faye's alcoholism and dismissal from the coffee shop
Thanks to Jeph for the comic. Looking forward to the future of QC and the paths each character will take. The hardest part is that now I have to wait patiently for each strip.
