Title: Bumblebee (one for the *nix folks here)
Post by: hedgie on 21 Feb 2019, 10:57
My Lenovo laptop has hybrid graphics (both intel, and an nvidia card).  Right now under Linux, only the intel is being recognised despite both being active in the bios.  Okay, known issue.  I installed bumblebee and everything needed to activate the nvidia card, and most tests seem fine.  However when I tried to launch Steam using the nvidia card, all the processes decided to hang.  Is anyone here familiar with bumblebee and how to get it working?

Apologies for the double post.  I reverted to a previous snapshot and started over.  This time, I got some new errors.  I hope that means progress.

Problem solved.  And lesson learnt.  Do not fuck with Bumblebee on Optimus systems.  Nvidia prime does much better and without the headaches.
