Okay, as no-one else has done it, I guess I've got to step up.
A spontaneous poll: What consequences might Claire's new job bring? Oddly enough, I think that all of the suggestions I make are probable in different degrees but, if I had to choose one, it would be that Marten starts hanging out at CoD again. It's just a feeling I have that Jeph wants to rediscover some of the old magic.
What do you all think?
-
There are so many jokes I want to make when "thanks for the tip" was said in the same conversation that mentions blowjobs.
But I am better than that. I think.
-
oddtail, no
-
When helping goes wrong
-
Ha! You know, it's been so long I kinda forgot Dora was Marten's ex?
-
Boundaries!
I think that not only Martin but also Elliot will start hanging out at CoD more often.
I miss Martin interacting with his male friends and he did used to have interactions with Elliot.
-
Dora yes!
..I can't be the only DBZA fan on here, can I?
-
I voted Destiny, but only because I want to see Jeph draw power armour (https://twitter.com/NerdApprentice/status/1166329833078571008?s=20).
-
Yeah, while knowing what your problems are is the first step, the next of actually making progress can be quite difficult.
-
"Other":
CONFLICT! One obsessive micro-manager (Hannelore) clashes with another (Claire) over the right way to do everything in the shop...
-
I'm reading all of these in the voice of the Clone Wars opening narrator, just so you all know.
-
Awww. Elliot and Clinton are SO CUTE.

Today's comic reminds me of this:

Please don't start a beverage flame war. I drink all these drinks and more, so no judgement from me.

*Forumite who drinks all four1 enters the room*
1. Not simultaneously; except in the case of mocha, which is delicious

*Whisky drinker enters the room*
*mixed drinks*
At least no beer drinkers yet....

*Ahem... 1
1. Not exclusively or anything, but am not averse to a brew 2
2. Fussy South Australian drinker, so boutique brands for me... :-D
-
BTW I've noticed that the side-effect of Ben creating his first WCDT thread in awhile is that the thread title format has flipped again.

Anarchy!
-
Sheer madness, I tell you.
-
Maybe he needed a glass of cider first to clear his mind.
-
I suppose there’s always snakebite, which covers a couple of bases.
-

so, what, Coopers Pale? :-D
-
New comic.
Well, that's a nice mental image to reflect upon for the rest of the day :D
I like how it says 'Pocket Dimension' on Beep's bag.
-
Hey, Roko! :D
I assume they'll hit Union Robotics next....
Faye: "WHY does your poster have human/Robot sex?"
-
Being very nice.
-
Faye: "I like this poster very much!"
Beeps: "You know the human is offering a piggyback ride, right?"
Faye: "Oh, yes."
Beeps: "No, I mean... okay, never mind."
-
In before that "Pocket Dimension" purse is an actual item you can buy
-
Was the problem all about Beepatrice's lack of artistic talent or was this the AI version of a Freudean slip? With Beepatrice, I assume the former but can't rule out the latter.
-
Beeps works on many levels

Or both!
-
Today's strip reminds me of when I was on the Toronto Pride board in 2000. We had the loveliest logo of dancers forming 2000... then when we started printing them out in greyscale for the volunteer badges the colourful pattern turned into boobs.
Recommendation, run any artwork past Pintsize first
-
Beeps works on many levels
You mean, she doesn't work on many levels?
-
Oh no, Hannelore...
(new comic)
-
It makes it better in _some_ aspects...
The speech balloons in today's comic do not have tails. Are the characters communicating with their minds? Or is it 'guess who is talking' day? ;)
-
I think no one commented on it when Jeph put it up on Patreon yesterday.
-
You can easily infer who is speaking by the positioning.
-
And also by the shape of the speech bubbles. I know :)
-
PFFFFFT That made it WORSE.
-
Sometimes, all censorship ever proves is that 'suggestive' is something entirely in the mind.
-
Dora yes!
..I can't be the only DBZA fan on here, can I?
You are not ;)
May will probably want the sharpie "corrected" poster won't she?
-
Oh no. Accidental clanker not-quite-porn.
[not kink shaming]
EDIT: 'Clanker' is the colloquial term for someone sexual attracted to robots. It's usually not accompanied with the same derision that 'furry' tends to get used with. At least not from what I've seen.
[Sidebar: turns out a lot of folks have a thing for Starscream. Lindsay Ellis even did a video on that specifically.]
-
I was laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath.
Seriously, the faces in the last panel... and Roko not saying a word in the entire comic... Just priceless.
-
Yes, todays comic was quite funny. :-D
Ha! You know, it's been so long I kinda forgot Dora was Marten's ex?
Wait, what ? Marten and Dora SPLIT UP ? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO !
I thought something was weird about the comic recently. :-D
Today's comic reminds me of this:
Not enough mineral water. I feel left out.

Yeah, the black rectangle brings the flyer from "maybe they will fuck" to "they are definitely fucking"
-
*Forumite who drinks all four1 enters the room*
1. Not simultaneously; except in the case of mocha, which is delicious
And you can also put whisk(e)y in a mocha, which makes three of the four in one drink.
-
I think no one commented on it when Jeph put it up on Patreon yesterday.
And apparently nobody commented on the spelling error (reather) either?
-
Cantilever?
-
No, Hanners, no NUKING IT FROM ORBIT.
-
I really hope that Hanners didn't just nail her foot to the floor after she dropped the knife...
Also: nukes evil! Bad Hanners! No murdering your friends (https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1576)!
-
*Whisky drinker enters the room*

A reminder (if one was needed) that, if Claire an Clinton lack chill, they are amateurs compared to Hannelore in this field!
Wait, why is Dora shouting what I'm assuming is an abort code? Most importantly who is she shouting it to? The obvious answer is Station but the post-human sci-fi thinker in me can't help but wonder whether it's at Hannelore. At what point was she hypnotically (or maybe cybernetically) programmed with a shutdown code? What else did Station put in Hanners' head when he put in the implant 'phone?
-
'Cantilever' was the passphrase that Hannelore put in the newsletter so Dora could prove that she read it.

Do you also happen to have the link for when Future Hannelore gives the order (to destroy civilization, I assume) over the protestations of some minion dude? Thanks in advance.
-
I must confess I don't really get the joke. How and why do we go from "there is a typo in the newsletter" to "let's nuke the area"?
-

The joke is a comical exaggeration of how Hannelore feels about making mistakes that she'd thought she could avoid making. She's so horrified, her first reaction is to end it all (and go out with a rather impressive, literal bang) rather than face the realisation. I think that's all there is to the joke.
EDIT: YMMV whether the joke is "Hannelore sure overreacts here", or whether Hanners herself is making a joke. If it's the latter, it sure seems like a dangerous way to joke around, if Station doesn't catch on...
-
Hanners has a long history of defaulting to mass murder to hide her mistakes.

Or at least freaking out and briefly wondering if this is a viable course of action.

That would be 2443! (https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2443)

Now I am waiting to see where that knife landed. I hope the service ferret wasn't hurt.

There's also the slightly more justified spider extermination via orbital bombardment (https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2468).

Spiders are our friends.
-
Unless the spider is right up in my personal space, I try to leave them alone. Better a spider I can see on the ceiling, then the other bugs they would have eaten where I cannot see them.

So far she hasn't killed anyone (that we know of).
EDIT:
Spiders are our friends.
Come on, you all.
Am I the only person in this forum excited to play the new Weaver race[1] from that Fools Gold campaign?
[1]they're spiderfolk that look like spiderfolk (glares at Ettercap design).
