Title: WCDT - June 27th to July 1st, 2022 (strips #4816 to #4820)
Post by: Gyrre on 26 Jun 2022, 19:31
Well, at least Aurelia is trying to get up to speed on slang.

EDIT: Not sure if Clinton would be my first choice for a crash course though.

Why is Claire having this discussion with Clinton?

Oh, yeah, I forgot that Jeph swapped over her and Aurelia's heads. The weird part is that I don't think that he meant to do that. The evolution of character art just turned out that way!

The feedback loop generated when those two meet will be more terrifying than that one CS project of Emily's that nearly summoned Cthulhu.

Not fair to just assume May will do something awful!  She has been getting better, and more time with other folk should help.

Even Pintsize has been improving.  Perhaps there is some correlation to "healthy body - healthy mind", now that they have better chassis.  Though that is just one factor, arseholes will still be arseholes; i.e. Corpsewitch :{

Yeah, May has been really super-responsible of late, and pretty damn diligent in her job.

It's also pretty noticeable how she and Marigold are just 100% brutally blunt with each other. That actually seems pretty healthy both ways. They really do trust each other.

Marigold bluntly said "no" with no hesitation or embarrassment, and a good reason. And of course May seems to have the ability to profanely bludgeon Marigold into adulting and businessing. It's a fun dynamic.

New comic!

May, don't kink shame. Even if that'd be a reason some people would be drawn in IRL, most streamers seem to more retain their viewers by their personalities than their avatars' appearance.

I think I see where this is going, now. Aurelia and Marigold both keep their online activities a secret, and I think it's those secrets that are in risk of being compromised, with more and more people in their (actually common) friend circle knowing their online identities, and finally making the secret pointless. Drama ensues, etc.

Aurelia, sooner or later you're going to have to accept that no matter how unhip (or unchill) you feel you are, your kids are worse.

that's not true, I know she'll never accept it

Aurelia will get advice from Claire, Hanners will encourage Marigold, both Aurelia and Marigold will feel better, have a coffee, maybe even say 'Hi!' to each other in passing...then leave CoD together, walk down the same streets, take all the same turns and finally end up at the Augustus house while silently freaking out about this weird stalker-person following them.  :-D

It is fermented drink. Has like half a percentage of alcohol but you can get it alcohol free.  Not that good imo.
Got myself beer with kombucha the other day cause it was 40 percent off.  Not that good either

I must say i love the current story.   Hilarious

IINM, half a percent is just the threshold for selling a drink as non-alcoholic.  If it says "less than half a percent," they made a token effort to get it all out.

Little surprised Claire's bold enough for the pride T - good for her.

Yup--and I think that's what Near Lurker was saying-- that's the trans pride flag design. I imagine it's pretty widely recognized in a place like Northampton. (Though I probably think of it as more recognized than it is. One time I went on a date to a paint your own pottery shop, and the woman I was with painted a plate in the trans flag design. When the store owner was ringing us up, she looked at the plate and said, "And yours is some lines on a plate." Which, I mean, wasn't wrong...)

Anyway, I want a non-crop top version of Claire's shirt.

I'm starting to see why Dora added 'Advice' and 'Good Advice' to the bill of fare at CoD. It seems that Northampton is filled with many lost souls whose questions can only be answered by a barista! The punch-card seems like a good idea too.

The learning? I think that Dora is the sort of businesswoman who realises that, if she can't change something, she might as well make a profit out of it!

Taste varies wildly by brand and flavor. Some folks only swear by homemade/local and insist bigger brand names "taste like feet".

In the past, I bought kumbucha in my local organic food store. It can be a very agressive drink, if you don't defuse the pressure building up in the bottle. Can't say I really liked the taste even if it wasn't terrible either, but it is said to be healthy, so I had it some times.

I tried homemade kumbucha at friends', and that was really terrible, though. It really had a moldy aftertaste. I don't think it's supposed to taste like that. Hopefully not.

I keep hearing it can be good, but I guess I'm still stuck on my first memory of a very bitterly sour drink, like vinegar. Yes, it was someone's homemade, and now that I know more, I'm virtually certain something went wrong in its fermentation.

YIKES!
Those are some bad experiences. I'm pretty basic and just get the gingerberry and pink lady apple flavors from the store. There's also a lemon/citrus one that was pretty decent.

EDIT: There's also a decent watermelon one and gingeade.
