Title: Personal Social Media Sharing Thread (totally voluntary)
Post by: Jimor on 30 Nov 2022, 18:32: For anybody who wishes to either share their social media for others to follow (or not), or are open to DMs to make connections or share email addresses, etc.

BIG CAUTION: Once the forum is locked into Read Only Mode, you will not have a way of deleting this information!!!

If this is something you worry about, you can request DMs instead, or you can at least make it a little bit of work for bots scraping the forum to put together the information. Of course this also makes work for anybody who wishes to follow, but is a reasonable precaution that everybody should understand.

(Hint: if you want to be able to update info after the forum goes read-only, link to somewhere under your control, not directly to the social media. (Note that anything you post outside of DISCUSS and RELATE can also be scraped, and with the announcement of the forum shutting down, probably will be scraped by someone.))

[1] though, someone did try to sit on the handle for both Twitter and Tumblr. Jokes on them as I already had accounts on both using the full version of the username 'Gyrre' is short for.
