Minor Threat, connected through Ian McKaye.
Yeah, an easy one ;p

Dag Nasty, connected through Brian Baker
It seems about every Dischord band shared members with other Dischord bands

Freq Nasty
Because they both end in Nasty.
That counts, right?
Too obvious you say?
Well. Um. I don't know.

I guess that would explain their collaboration of the song "Illuminate" :D
-
David Gray --> White Ladder --> White Light White Heat --> The Velvet Underground
-
Song called Velvet Divorce by Sneaker Pimps
-
Big Boi and Andre3000 are considered by some to be Pimps

-
they Might Be Giants -> did an album called no -> nomeansno :)
Just like what happened with the Tenacious D -> White Stripes link
-
nomeansno-->Stop!-->Erasure
Oh yes, it is far reaching but we are arguing semantics so on with the game!
-
YAY FOR STRETCHES!
Erasure__> connects to a pensil___> pensils draw things___> the cure
-
the cure -> cancer for the cure -> eels
-
the eels -> cancer for the cure -> no cure for cancer ->dennis leary

Led Zeppelin --> Blimp..thing. --> HIndenburg --> Germany --> Rammstein.
-
Rammstein ---> German artist ---> Kraftwerk

-
Lynyrd Skynyrd lost members in a plane crash -> Buddy Holly died in a plane crash, so Buddy Holly (& the crickets)
-
Weezer, performed the song Buddy Holly.
-
ok...a little tenuous here, but...
Weezer -> wheezing, suggesting asthmatic -> asthmatic = a song by King Adora (named after a dildo, fact fans!)
-
king adora = dildo ( or just king) = king missles did detachable penis( ooo it connects in two ways!
-
the dildo or the link?
Oh god, I've got the humour of a 12 year old boy. I should go.
-
King Missiles ---> King Crimson
-
King Crimson------->Did a song called Fallen Angel-------->Album called Fallen------------>Evanescence
-
Evanescence ----> Amy Lee == HOT ! ----> Milla Jovovich == HOT ! ---> Milla Jovovich

slowdown virginia sounded an awful lot like the cure.
-
slowdown virginia--->Slow down----->Doom Metal---->My Dying Bride
-
My Dying Bride, what time is she dying, In My Time of Dying, Led Zeppelin (one of their greatest tunes).
-
My Dying Bride, what time is she dying, In My Time of Dying, Led Zeppelin (one of their greatest tunes).
everyone in my guitar class plays led zeppelin's "stairway to heaven" and it irks me.
one kid plays only the intro to "by the way" by the red hot chili peppers, which is even more annoying!
red hot chili peppers
-
RHCP has flea, who has also worked with--->the Mars Volta
-
Mars Volta -> At The Drive-In (who's Rolodex Propaganda featured) -> Iggy Pop (and The Stooges)
-
Iggy Pop played Nona F. Mecklenberg's dad in the Adventures of Pete and Pete. Danny Tamberelli played little Pete in that show, and now he plays in this (http://www.jounce.org/) godawful jam band.
Ain't I a stinker...
(PS - If you go to the website this one is real easy...)
-
Danny From Jounce ---> Actor on a kid's show turned (or tried to and failed) music artist ---> Steve Burns (From the kid's show Blue's Clues)

Asia is a continent as is Europe! (It's the Final Countdown!)
-
asia -> of montreal - barely asian at the beefcake horizon
-
of montreal -> boards of canada
-
boards of canada -> manitoba/caribou
due to canadaness in name, as well as groovy electrobeatmaking
-
The pixies have a song called caribou.
-
there are a certain sect of tori amos fans that go to her shows dressed as pixies.
Tori Amos
-
Tori Amos had Trent Reznor sing in her song Past the Mission ---> Trent Reznor
-
trent reznor worships david bowie.
-
David Bowie wrote most of the music for The Life Aquatic, the Life Aquatic has Sigur Ros on it!
so, Sigur Ros
-
Sigur Ros is from Iceland, so is Bjork (pronounced buh-jork :) )
-
Bjork did a few songs with the artist Tricky
-
"tricky trick" was a song by lou bega
-
as was mambo number 5. Which was covered by bob the builder!
-
Bob the Builder->lots of yellow in that show->Yellow Submarine->The Beatles
-
The Beatles -> Beatles are a type of bug. --> Bugs are small. --> Worms are small. --> Arrogant Worms.
-

running wild-->they run an awful lot in the musicvideo to Sabotage-->Beastie Boys
-
Beastie Boys--->Boys 2 Men
-
I'm just going to have to say it
Boyz II Men ---> boys ---> young boys ---> Michael Jackson
-
Michael Jackson enlisted the help of Slash on give in to me, slash was in guns n roses
-
guns 'n' roses got in trouble for covering a charles manson song.
-
Neil Young's "Revolution Blues" is about Charles Manson.
-
Menomena have a song called Twenty Cell Revolution.
-
Twenty Cell Revolution---> Rise Against's Revolutions Per Minute
-
Rise Against --> Rage Against the Machine.
-
Rage Against the Machine ---> Turing Machine
-
turing machine--> there is an album by Tom Waits called Bone Machine--> Tom Waits
-
Tom Waits------>Tom DeLonge----->Blink 182
-
Blink 182 are pop-punk, emo is mostly derived from punk, Thursday are emo. So, Thursday...
-
Thursday - comes after Wednesday - Christina Ricci played Wednesday Addams - Felt made an entire album tribute to Ms.Ricci.
-
Felt is a material. Madonna did the song Material Girl. Madonna.
-
Thursday are emo
Lies!
-
Thursday are emo
Lies!
let it go.
madonna's 'music' was remixed by dismantled.
-
I misread Dismantled as Disturbed (and was more than just a tad scared let me tell you)
-
Disturbed makes me think of Disturbing Behaviour, which sucked but had an awesome soundtrack ---> I'm Not Sick was on said soundtrack ---> Sung by Harvey Danger
-
Harvey Danger --> Danger Mouse.
-
Danger Mouse ---> Mighty Mouse, as performed by Andy Kauffman ---> Man on the Moon, sung by REM.
-
REM does Man on the Moon --> Man on the Moon is a movie starring Jim Carrey --> Jim Carrey's favorite band --> Cannibal Corpse
Have fun.
-
my ex-girlfriend passed out at a cannibal corpse show, and her best friend used to date dead flesh's drummer.
-
dead flesh - dead kennedys
-
Dead Kennedys (<3) Wrote a song called Chemical Warfare, as did Slayer.
-
Slayer sounds like Relayer which is an album by Yes
-
when the guy who owned the copyright on the name left, yes changed their name to anderson bruford wakeman howe.
-
wakeman shares many of the same letters a walkman. The Walkmen.
-
The Walkmen wrote a song called 'The Rat', Badly Drawn Boy has a song called 'The Year of the Rat'
The Walkmen -----> Badly Drawn Boy
-
Badly Drawn Boy is the most namedropped band by this guy I know ('Me and damon, we're great mates, we are...'), closely followed by Kasabian, so..Kasabian
-
the nme year book was a dissapointing arse kiss to many bands including kasabian and the libertines.
so yeah, the libertines...
-
so many potential links here!
But, I'll go with the worst of them...
Pete's been stepping out with Kate Moss, Kate Moss has been a groupie of sorts, as are Queens of Noize (for the lucky uninformed - two ex-models who claim to be able to DJ, and have got ahead in the world by shagging boys in bands) - Razorlight wrote Golden Touch about Mairead from Queens of Noize, so...
Razorlight!
That was long-winded...
-
Razorlight annoy the hell out of me...
so therefore Razorlight -----> Damien Rice
-
Damien Rice--> his debut is called O, which if you rip it apart becomes (), which again incidently is the second album of Sigur RĂłs--> Sigur RĂłs
-
Sigur RĂłs are a terrible, terrible band who by sheer misfortune I have seen live more than once.
As are the Super Furry Animals
-
Super furrys are welsh, so is kelly jones of steroephonics. Ther lastest single is called dakota which is, I believe, a place in the USA
The presidemts of the united states of america
-
easy one...
did a song called Peaches, Peaches is a singer (ish), therefore peaches
-
peaches = fruit --> song "fruits for the nation" by --> union youth
-
union youth --> sonic youth
Yay, I'm not clever!
-
sonic youth -> reagan youth
-
Sonic Youth--->were on The Simpson's Hullabulooza episode, so were The Smashing Pumpkins
SOOOOO....Smashing Pumpkins
-
Oi!
-
sonic youth -> reagan youth
i'll go with this one.
r.e.m. had a song on automatic for the people called ignoreland; it was a fuckyou to reagan and reaganomics.
so r.e.m.
-
R.E.M is a type of sleep, Longview have a song titled "Only When You Sleep" therefore, Longview
-
Easy, Longview was one of the first singles from Dookie that made Green Day popular.
-
Green Day ----> Green Album ----> Weezer
-
weezer did a song with soul coughing.
-
M. Doughty is/was the singer for Soul Coughing. He did an awesome guest vocal on an amazing track called "Never Gonna Come Back Down" by BT.
BT
-
BT is a telephone company, shed seven did a song called Speakeasy (or something similar) which was used on a phone ad, so... Shed 7
-
shed 7 --> Zero 7. easyyy
-
Zero 7 and Remy Zero both have zero in their name, and they both had a song on the Garden State soundtrack. So...
Remy Zero
-
remy zero to remy shand
-
I had someone called Remy in my class at school. He was half french. Liquido had a hit in France with a song called Narcotic.
Liquido
-
Liquido had a hit song in France -> According to the photocopied cover of the legitimate Scooter album that I found at a thrift store, Scooter had a hit in France (due to their "amazing techno sound") -> Scooter
-
Scooter has a tribute band called moped as championed by radio 1 DJ chris moyles. Moyles covered Guns don't kill people, rappers do by GLC :-
Goldie Looking Chain
-
I'm gonna be lame
Goldie looking Chain - Ball and Chain - Social Distortion
-
the name social distortion makes me think ov socialburn. and i'll be sad if noöne here knows who they are.
-
Socialburn ---> Broken Social Scene
-
Apparently, everybody wants to be a part of the rock scene.
Athlete, god help us
-
Atheletes are fit. There are many fit musicians also, including Charlotte Hatherly.
Charlotte Hatherly
-
my girlfriend is called Charlotte, she likes Pink Floyd, so do I so...
Pink Floyd
-
Pink Floyd -> Lookout! Records comp called "The Thing That Ate Floyd" -> One of the bands on this comp was ISOCRACY!
woot, Isocracy, run with it
-
Isocracy ---> Democracy ----> The Presidents of the United States of America
-
The Presidents of the United States of America--> The President`s Heart
-
The President's Heart --->Bill Clinton's heart surgery ---> George Clinton
George Clinton
-
really really tenuous one coming up...
George Clinton - Hilary Clinton - Hilary Swank - Hilary swank was in a ilm called boys don't cry - after a song by the cure, so...the cure!
-
The Cure curated the Curiosa tour, which had Interpol, Mogwai and The Cooper Temple Clause on it also.
The Cooper Temple Clause have the most fun name out of those three.
-
Cooper Temple Clause > Hangin' With Mr Cooper > theme song: "Hangin' With Mr Cooper" by Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy. > Xiu Xiu song called Little Panda McElroy... so,
Xiu Xiu
-
Xiu Xiu sounds like 'shoe shoe'. you wear shoes while traveling. Wanderers travel a lot. lyrics in the song Benedictus by The Strawbs say "the wanderer has far to go"
The Strawbs
-
strawbs sounds like strawberries. the wild strawberries. they had one great song and, about sixteen lesser songs.
-
strawberries are a fruit, so are oranges, bowl of oranges is a song by bright eyes, so..bright eyes
-
Bright Eyes------>Conor Oberst--->just saw his emo face with Tilly and The Wall and CocoRosie---->CocoRosie
-
CocoRosie consists of Bianca & Sierra Cassady. Their last name is similar to David Cassidy's, who starred in the Partridge Family which first aired in 1970 the same year as the Apollo 13 launch. The Apollo 13 movie made in the 90's starred Kevin Bacon! 6 degrees to Kevin Bacon! I win!
-lofin
-
Can't argue with that.
-
everyöne refers to my friend kevin as bacon, and his favourite band is slayer.
-
Slayer started out as a Judas Priest tribute band called Dragonslayer, so Judas Priest
-
Judas Priest's lead singer is Rob Halford, who is gay.
George Michael is also gay.
-
George Micheal was in a band called wham! roy lichenstien did a painting called whaam! (note the extra a) which depicted a fighter plane. A plane is a form of military hardware, as is a warship - of which the UK used to have the most in the world.
British Sea Power. (also, they are from me/muffys town!!)
-
British Sea Power have Eamon (the mad one who sometimes wears a colander on his head when he's in a good mood) who also plays in brighton supergroup Brakes (who are currently the best band in the entire world eer, period, no arguing) who played with The Others in Brighton on Tuesday at the Concorde, so...The Others
-
If you squeeze "Blood Br" in there you get "The Blood Brothers!"
YAY, the Blood Brothers!
-
Blood brothers is a musical, as is the rocky horror picture show. Many have tried to copy songs from there, but the true original great of the picture was......
.....
.....
.....
Meatloaf,
yeah, meatloaf, he'll do
-
Meatloaf is food. food is made of cows. Black Cow is a song by Steely Dan
Steely Dan
-
steely dan - cowboy dan
modest mouse
-
Captain and Tenille performed 'Song of Joy', which could also be called a 'Celebration Song', by Unwritten Law. It's a stretch and i know it.
Cap'n and Tenille ==> Unwritten Law
-
i've seen modest mouse live twice.
the only other band i've seen live twice is ani difranco.
the first time she had a 2 hour long opening act called ladysmith black mambazo.
therefore, Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
-
Paul Simon did a bit of work with Laydysmith Black Mombazo a couple of decades ago, and popularised world music for the masses.
Therefore ... Simon and Garfunkel.
-
Garkunkels first name is art, as is art alexasis' of everclears. Everclear, from what I understand, is booze (we don't get it here!), George best was addicted to booze and he played for manchester united. Machester united 'doing the double' (come on you reds) song was performed with status quo.
Therefore
Status Quo
-
Status Quo had an album called "Hello!" and Poe also had an album called "Hello." (slightly more subdued with no exclamation mark.)
Matt Sorum played Drums on Poe's album, and he was also in Guns n Roses and in ...
The Cult.
-
the Cult ---> My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
-
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult were on The Crow soundtrack along with Helmet. Helmet were mentioned in QC strip no "245: Eclipsed by their own sound" ... as was ...
Slipknot.
-
Slipknot had a song called Only One -----> Makes me think of Only Hope, by Switchfoot.
-
switchfoot -> sounds like the tenderfoot, a brighton
band who are pretty cool, so..the tenderfoot
-
tenderfoot...
Speaking of delicate extremities
Deerhoof.
-
thee only deerhoof song i have is on a throbbing gristle tribute.
-
One of the members of Throbbing Gristle was named Chris Carter - the same name as the creator of the X-Files.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds had a song on one of the X-Files albums.
-
Nick Cave --> Microphones
the microphones sing a bitchin song about a volcano that invites a weeping lady into his mossy cave
ps, does anybody have that song, because I've seem to have LOST it somehow
-
Can't say I've actually heard anything from the Microphones (that I know of) - are they good?
Since we're on the topic of caves.. Muse happen to have a marvellous song called cave, so let's run with:
Muse
-
When I saw Muse, they were supported by Hundred Reasons
-
yes the microphones are good (note they're mostly one guy named phil) run out and get glow part 2, because that's a fine album
-
When I saw Muse, they were supported by Hundred Reasons
there are atleast 100 reasons not to listen to puddle of mudddd
-
Puddle of Mudd are the epitome of terrible music, a title they share with equal pioneers of tedium Starsailor. So, Starsailor.
Ooh, and Will, I tried to pm you but the thing didn't work it would seem - gah to dying computers and such!
-
muffy hates starsailor. however muffy likes Rylo Kiley, Rylo Kilry had 'unipines' in one of their videos. Less than jake have a song on (borders and boundries??) called 9th at pine
Therefore
LTJ
-
Pssst! Catflea - It's spelt 'Rilo Kiley'!
-
Less Than Jake is a ska punk band, another ska punk band is Reel Big Fish
-
reel big fish did a song called "she has a girlfriend now" which was about a girl ditching her bloke for a Lady. Spunge did a song along the same lines (but I can't remember what its called now)
spunge
-
Less than jake have a song on (borders and boundries??) called 9th at pine
Losing Streak
Anyway, I saw [spunge] the day before my 16th birthday. Around the time of my friend's 16th birthday, we went to see Alkaline Trio
-
on saturday, i got alkaline trio stuck in my head, followed by keane
-
the name keane sounds like keanu as in keanu reeves, he was in a band called Dogstar
-
Keane illicit the same response from people as Travis and Coldplay did a couple of years ago (a sort of mocking indifference). Travis had a song called 'why does it always rain on me'. I put this down to the fact that him upstairs was slowly trying to drown the guy, but that's just me. Another person who has been blighted by being rained on (the clouds opened as he took to the stage at a festival, the rest of the band remained dry) was Elliott Smith.
So, Elliott Smith.
Edit - oops, I spend too long typing these things - sorry!
-
My Spanish TA is in a band that sounds like Elliot Smith, and today he had us listen to a Spanish Indie band by the name of Maga.
So, Maga.
-
Spanish being the link...
Desaparecidos' album is called Read Music, Speak Spanish, so..
Desaparecidos.
-
Spanish being the link...
Desaparecidos' album is called Read Music, Speak Spanish, so..
Desaparecidos.
theyre ont he same record label as sorry about dresden
-
Hmmm.. Sorry about Dresden.. to one of my current favourite bands...
Dresden Dolls.
:)
-
dresden dolls--->murderdolls.
-
murder ---> death
dolls ---> cute?
stick them in a cab, and you have
death cab for cutie
a band i have been semi obsessed with for about a month
-
Death to murder:
Murder City Devils
-
murder city devils--->devils--->devilish--->jason 'devilish' mcninch--->sister machine gun.
-
sister machine gun... not rocket science to jump to
Machinegun Fellatio.
-
machine gun fellatio
by way of ballistic weaponry, I connect it to
nuns with guns
-
nuns with guns --->The movie the flying NUN starred Sally Field --->Strawberry FIELDS Forever was a song by The Beatles, so...
The Beatles
-
The Residents edited the cover of The Beatles' Meet the Beatles album for their first album, Meet The Residents.
look it up, it's fairly amusing.
The Residents.
-
nuns with guns
admit it you made that up didn't you?
Theres a recordshop in brighton called resident that stocks local bands releases. A good localband is silvermaker (who live just down the road in fact)
Silvermaker sounds much like silverchair
-
Silverchair - Alice in Chains released a track called 'Angry Chair'. (I am aware of my obsession and I am currently taking classes to beat it).
-
My friend also has an unhealthy obsession with Alice in Chains - another band she obsesses over (much like someone else on this board :) ) is Nine Inch Nails...so, NIN.
-
after beďng in nine inch nails for years, chris vrenna jumped ship and started his own project: tweaker.
-
tweaker sounds like something you might do with a pair of tweezers.
Take the t and s off, and you get...
Weezer!
-
Wheezer appeared on the Muppet show, as did Elton John!
-
Elton John's drummer for many years was Nigel Olsson, who had previously played with........... Uriah Heep.
[/showing age]
-
Uriah Heep reminds me of the crapper for some reason.
crappers are also known as johns. bad ones can be pretty rotton -> Johnny Rotten -> Sex Pistols
-
The Sex Pistols were from the UK >>
on the topic of the UK, Pistol rhymes with Bristol, and a very chilled out groovy outfit by the name of Portishead hail from there.
Portishead.
-
Massive Attack did "Nobody loves me (Sour Times)" with Portishead.
-
Portishead reminds me of a running back from the Washington Redskins, Clinton Portis.
There is a small little band from DC called Fugazi
~~Willis
-
christ you!!
Fugazi come from the Washington DC area
and so did
DISMEMBERMENT PLAN
re: nuns with guns: didn't make them up, they're a local band with a great name
-
Simple Plan (ACH!)
-
Jessica Simpson is very "simple"
(sorry...)
-
Easiest connection ever here:
Jessica Simpson --> Ashlee (Why the hell is her name spelt ashlee, damnit?) Simpson.
-
Ashlee Simpson.... um, Milli Vanilli :D
-
Milli Vanilli were name checked in a PJ and Duncan song.
I actually know this, and should possibly be embarassed, but hey,
So..PJ and Duncan
-
PJ = Polly Jean Harvey
~~Willis
-
P.J. harvey was referenced in a rather offencive rasputina skit.
-
Rasputina as in Rasputin?, if so another finish band would be HIM
ps Isnt AQUA Finish?
-
One of Aquas albums (or singles or whatever) was called cartoon heroes,
the gorillaz were a cartoon band.
-
Gorillas are big animals, animals poo on the floor. McFly have an album called Room on the 3rd Floor.
Fuck yeah, McFly. \m/
-
McFly are a rip off of Busted, Busted broke up so the one with the eyebrows could start Fightstar so: Fightstar
-
Fightstar are shit. So are... um... Rancid. Yeah that'll do, Rancid.
-
Rancid includes Tim Armstrong who was married to Brody Dalle who is the frontwoman for the Distillers so: The Distillers
-
You distill water, water freezes into blocks of ice; Bloc Party.
Huzzah.
-
Bloc Party have a song called Helicopter, helicopters fly, as do birds. A band with a rather obsessive love of birds is British Sea Power, so...British Sea Power
-
British Se Power- Britain- a band that came from Britain is...
PINK FLOYD
-
pink floyd is a crap band who wrote songs ov which other people have done beautiful covers. the same goes for bob dylan.
-
malice, i hate you forever, and that comment warrents the most horrible death imaginable. thought id say that
-
pink floyd is a crap band who wrote songs of which other people have done beautiful covers. the same goes for bob dylan.
*gasp* Blasphemy!
Bob Dylan --> Did an album called "Hard Rain" --> "Purple Rain" was done by Prince [or whatever symbology you want to use to represent him]...
So......Prince
-
Ozzy Osbourne is the prince of darkness, so i have to say Black Sabbath
-
Black Sabbath >> Ladysmith Black Mombazzo (who were mentioned earlier) were also mentioned in the movie Mean Girls. One other song in Mean Girls was "dancing with myself" which is a cover of a Billy Idol song performed by:
The Donnas.
-
The Donnas contributed a song to the soundtrack of "Detroit Rock City" ("Strutter"), a movie about KISS, but since I don't really like KISS I am going to say the Ramones since KISS did a track for a Ramones tribute album.
-
the ramones did a song called I Wanna Be Sedated, you get sedated in a hopsital, the song "girl anochronism" sounds like she should be in the hospital which is done by "the dresden dolls"
-
my first idea for this was murderdolls, but then i remembered that dresden dolls popped up before, and i replied with murderdolls, so this seems to be some kind ov loop. and that works, because there's a band called loop.
-
The Ramones -> Joey Ramone did a cover of "What a Wonderful World" which was also a Louis Armstrong song.
So Louis Armstrong
-
Louis Armstrong--->Stretch Armstrong(The Doll) --->Stretch Arm Strong (The Hardcore Band)
-
Bloc Party have a song called Helicopter
The easy one would be a reference to "Helicopters" by the Barenaked Ladies. Opportunity missed.
Louis Armstrong -> Lance Armstrong -> Lance Bass -> N*Sync
Cry. Cry for the future.
-
N*Sync -> Justin Timberlake -> "Where is the Love?" -> Black Eyed Peas
-
BEP opened for No Doubt in Berkeley
-
stephen perkins played drums on no doubt's 'spiderwebs' as well as on 'i do not want this' by nine inch nails.
-
Trent Reznor is a no-talent ass clown. According to Mike Bolton from Office Space so is Michael Bolton.
Michael Bolton!
-
henry rollins wants to have michael bolton's vocal cords severed in his standup
-
Henry Rollins hosted "full metal challenge" which involved buidling vehicles to meet challenges, much the same as scrapheap challenge (junkjard wars to our american cousins?) which is hosted by the delectable lisa rogers and Robert Llewlyn (I can't spell). Rob L played Kryten In red dwarf, where Lister believed he could play guitar like the ghost of hendrix.
Jimi Hendrix (who played our student union back in the 60s)
-
Jimi Hendrix -> foxy lady ->a foy lady is Karen O, so...yeah yeah yeahs
-
The Yeahs Yeahs Yeahs are a shit band my friend Steve likes.
As are Brand New
-
James Brown - Papas got a <brand new> bag
-
Papa's got a brand new bag was used for an advert for PG tips, which featured lots of monkeys. The most famous monkey man in music is Ian Brown of the Stone Roses, so...the Stone Roses
-
stone roses -> factory records -> tony wilson -> 24 hour party people -> steeve coogan -> baby cow productions -> size of a cow by the wonderstuff
-
the wonderstuff -> the wonders... u know, "that thing you do"
hehehe
-
wonders -> Tom Hanks -> Philidelphia (the movie) -> Bruce Springsteen
-
Bruce was on the Vote for Change tour, as were REM...
-
One of REM's best known songs is "The End of the World," which is, in the religious world, sometimes referred to as the Apocalypse.
Therefore, I present:
Apocalyptica
-
Apocalyptica is similar in spelling to Apocalypse. Apocalypse Please is the name of a song by Muse.
Therefore, I present Muse.
-
Muse can be found in the words "Throwing MUSEs".
So, Throwing Muses.
-
Throwing Muses -> Throwing Copper -> Live
-
I saw "Live" play live a few years ago, and I was less than impressed. Another band I was slightly disappointed with when playing live was "Dallas Crane".
(ps - neither of them were 'bad' as such - just disappointing.)
-
Dallas is in Texas, a band that came from texes is ZZ Top
-
ZZ Top sung "gimme all your lovin" I'd Like to giver Charlotte Hatherly of ash all my lovin'
that was kinda predictable.
-
*thinks* aaaaah, revenge for the Conor thread...
Ash are a third rate band who should never have made it past their college audition, but survived on the basis that every bloody indie kid in the world listened to that 'Girl from Mars' song.
A girl from Mars would possibly have a friend, say, Another Girl, but they may possibly be from Another Planet, so...
The Only Ones
-
I bought "The Only Ones" by The Only Ones about a month ago. On the same day I also bought Hejira - Joni Mitchell, If I Should Fall From Grace With God - The Pogues, Small Change - Tom Waits, Moon Safari - Air, If You're Feeling Sinister - Belle and Sebastian, and
Mingus Ah Um - Charles Mingus
-
Well, I knew a cat named Mingus once, and Eartha Kitt was not only one of the coolest Catwomen ever, she also voiced a kitty [if only briefly] in The Emperor's New Groove. Therefore,
Eartha Kitt
-
ok, thats been there too long, I'm gonna cheat a little.
Supervixen called eartha kitt. Supervixen has Magenta from Rocky Horror as an avatar. The Rocky horror picture show has many famous tunes in its soundtrack. Most of which have been covered by punk bands, Such as
'The Swinging Utters'
-
OK...let's see...
Utters. Cows have utters. "Weird Al" Yankovic samples a cow mooing on "Smells Like Nirvana".
Therefore, "Weird Al" Yankovic.
-
no, cows have udders.
Weird al, also covered american pie (bill clinton song)
so therefore Don Mclean.
-
Mcleans is a brand of toothpaste. Along with toothpaste, you should use mouthwash for good oral hygiene. And amazon reliably inform me that mouthwash (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000058BDX/qid=1109779929/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_10_1/202-2699016-5766260) released an album on Epitaph in 2001.
-
Listerene is a mouthwash brand, and the word listerine has a passing sembelance to Glycerine which is a song my Collective Soul
Collective Soul is the band now
-
Collectives are large groups of people, which may include family members, such as brothers. Funk Soul Brother was performed by Fatboy Slim.
-
Fatboy Slim is married to Zoe Ball, a former Radio 1 breakfast show presenter. Her successor (for the show, not atboy slim) was Sara Cox, who is now with that dude from The Prodigy
-
The Prodigy was my favourite band on this mixtape I had when I was 10, as was Marilyn Manson.....so
MARILYN MANSON
-
Manson used to be buds with Trent Reznor, so the new band is
NINE INCH NAILS
-
NIN sang "I wanna fuck you like an animal".
Which sounds remarkably similiar in intent to "you and me baby ain't nothing but mammals, lets do it like they do on the discovery channel"
Bloodhound Gang
-
who is now with that dude from The Prodigy
Keith Flint? That could be amusing!!!!
its Liam Howlett isn't it?
-
NIN sang "I wanna fuck you like an animal".
Which sounds remarkably similiar in intent to "you and me baby ain't nothing but mammals, lets do it like they do on the discovery channel"
Bloodhound Gang
The Bloundhound Gang were unable to gain permission to sample "Close to me" by the Cure so instead had to use live musicians just playing the hook on trumpets. Which leads me to the band Butt Trumpet.
-
Which leads me to the band Butt Trumpet.
which leads me to the Butthole Surfers
-
which leads me to ask WHAT THE FUCK?
-
The Butthole Surfers had a song on the Romeo + Juliet soundtrack.
Radiohead wrote a song for the Romeo + Juliet soundtrack.
-
(bah. this will be weak. bite me.)
Radiohead = on an episode of I Love the 90's (PART DEUX OMFG)
Dave Navarro = on same episode.
Dave Navarro = (was) guitarist of Jane's Addiction.
Thus. Jane's Addiction.
-
WEAK!
-
I WAS GONNA SAY THAT! I guess you beat me to the punch=(
-
Perry Farrell is in Jane's Addiction - he organised Lollapalooza which featured in an episode of the Simpsons (may have been called Homerpalooza ?) and Homer Simpson won a ficticious Grammy (for outstanding soul, spoken word, or barbershop album of the year) whilst in a barbershop quartet named:
The B-Sharps
-
The BSharps broke up, just like another band recently
Blink 182 (might as well use them, cant think of another)
-
Blink 182 videos often featured midgets.
As does the new John Mellencamp video.
John Mellencamp.
-
John Mellencamp was Johnny Cougar.
A cougar is a cat.
Therefore...
Cat Stevens!
I should do this for a living.
-
Thats easy
Cat Stevens -> Cat Power
-
Cat Power recently guested on the new Handsome Boy Modelling School album, as did Alex F Kapranos from Franz F Ferdinand, so...the Franz.
-
So my sister bought the Franz cd on the same day she bought the garden state soundtrack, and the Shins are on the Garden state soundtrack. So
The Shins.
-
shins are a part of the human body, as is an elbow. Elbow are a nice but dull band who did a comedy cover of Destiny's Child - Independant Woman, so Destiny's Child.
-
The producer on Mark and Lard's radio show (the dark prince) did a mix of "Survivor" by Destiny's Child and "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor. Travis once played live on the Mark and Lard show from Robin Hood's Bay, when they did a cover of "Hit Me Baby One More Time", originally by Britney Spears.
-
Britney Spears married a grease-bag. Andrew W.K. is a grease-bag.
ANDREW W.K. !!!
-
Andrew W.K. --> I have a friend named Andrew, whose nickname is Stumpy. --> A waitress called me Stumpy once [because I'm short], and her name was Billy Jean. --> Michael Jackson did a song about someone named Billy Jean.
So.
Michael Jackson
-
Michael Jackson and Woody Allen have a few indiscretions in common.
Woody Allen's latest movie Melinda and Melinda features a lot of songs by
Duke Ellington.
-
I could go on with jazz forever, but not everybody can, so get ready for a very labored linking.
Duke Ellington had Ray Nance sing "Take the A-Train", Mr. Nance plays trumpet and volin, and the best band to ever have violins are Dexy's Midnight Runners
There, you happy?
-
Dexy's used violins, and in the song "No Leaf Clover" so did...
Metallica
-
Metallica -> song "Enter Sandman" -> song "Mister Sandman" by Pat Ballard -> Emmylou Harris did a cover of "Mister Sandman" -> Emmylou sings backing vocals on Bob Dylan's "My Blue Eyed Jane" -> song "Sweet Jane" by the Velvet Underground
Velvet Underground
Shoulda gone further with jazz...
-
A Velvet Underground album has a banana on the cover. The Dead Milkmen parodied this cover with their "Smoking Banana Peels" EP.
-
OK, Dead Milkmen...
Inside that band name, there's "milk". The video for Primus' "Tommy the Cat" featured a ridiculously large amount of milk being spilled and thrown and ingested, ergo...
Primus.
-
Primus has a really good bass player, as does
Red Hot Chili Peppers
-
Hot Peppers were eaten by Homer Simpsons in that episode where he hallucinates of his "spiritual guide" coyote. The voice of that coyote was done by Johnny Cash....
JOHNNY CASH
-
Okay, this has been sitting too long.
Johnny Cash --> When he died, the lead singer of Flogging Molly wrote a song called "Don't Let Me Die Still Wondering" and dedicated it to Johnny Cash.
So, Flogging Molly.
-
Flogging Molly is a band from Ireland, and using the the Ireland angle, one could connect them to The Cranberries, and also, as I'm told, many of Flogging Molly's songs are about drinking, as are The Dropkick Murphys
So take your pick.
-
cranberry is a fruit so is lemon so - The Lemonheads
-
I'll take The Cranberries, since not too many of FM's songs are about drinking, whereas the Dropkick Murphys....anywho.
The Cranberries did a song called "There She Goes" which was confusingly covered by Sixpence None the Richer on the Snow Day soundtrack, which starred, among other people, Iggy Pop.
So, Iggy Pop.
-
iggy pop was the only musician to have two ov his songs covered on the jared louche and the aliëns album covergirl.
-
Radiohead have a song called "Subterranean Homesick Alien" so I pick:
Bob Dylan.
-
That's too easy, Bob Dylan wrote a metric buttload (which is quite a bit more than a standard buttload) of songs that other people covered, one of whom was the late, great, Jimi Hendrix with All Along the Watchtower.
-
jimi hendrix was rather nicely referenced on an aliën sex fiend promo.
-
Garbage did a song entitled Alien Sex Fiend...
-
Garbage is an old band touring now. As are the psychodelic furs.
-
A friend of mine once loaned me a Furs album, along with another cd by
"The The"
-
... who have a repetitive name like Duran Duran.
-
Who was a Character in Barbarella starring Jane Fonda who's hot as hell...
oh yeah, the game...
Who's "Rio" was covered by Goldfinger
-
Goldfinger also covered 99 Red Ballons, which was originally sung in German by Nina. David Hasselhoff has a few hit records in German.
David Hasselhoff
-
David Hasselhoff was in Baywatch, Also in baywatch was a certain Ms. Anderson who made Home videos with a chap called Tommy Lee - from Motley Crue (if my memory serves)
Motley Crue
-
Nikki Sixxs side project is called 1958. In 1958 the movie The Blue Men was released. The Blue Man Group consists entirely of blue men.
The Blue Man Group
-
the blue man group relies entirely on a stupid gimmick, as do kiss.
-
KISS' Gene simmons released an album named asshole, and Dave Mustaine is an asshole, so MEGADETH
(I knew i'd get them in somewhere!)
-
The outcome of a death, whether mega or not, is usually a funeral. There are many bands that could be linked to funerals (ffaf being one) but I don't like them very much, so instead I'll use the album title link - Funeral - Oh yes... The Arcade Fire.
-
The Arcade Fire have a song called "Wake Up" as does a fantastic band by the name of
"Eskimo Joe" (check em out if you haven't heard them - their first album "Girl" is excellent. )
:)
-
I'm going to a Funeral tomorrow.
But, anyways, although I haven't heard of Eskimo Joe, they apparently have an album called Girl - which brings us to Girl by the Beatles. So, the Beatles.
And I'll check Eskimo Joe out! QC Forum-goers have never led me the wrong way, music-wise.
-
the beatles heavily influënced charles manson.
-
Wasnt he the guy who had the neo-nazi cult that went around killing people? what does that have to do with music?
-
Charles Manson was a sociopath, and murderer.
Certain members of Mayhem were sociopathic murderers, and possibly cannibals. Great story, that is...
-
If you wanna get technical, Charles Manson didnt kill anybody, he just had his cult do it for him.
-
and a musician. he recorded an album called lie, which was actually quite good. bluesy (yes, he was racist, but still his musick was very blues-oriënted) folk.
-
I don't care, I just want people to look up the Mayhem story, because it's just messed up and ridiculous and somewhat funny.
-
Didnt they ask someone to comit suicide at a show?
-
Possibly. But no, that's not what I was thinking of.
You see, the ironically named lead vocalist, Dead, committed suicide in 1991 by shooting himself in the head. Drummer Hellhammer apparently made a necklace of the fragments, and the guitarist (I believe), Eurononymous reportedly cooked and ate pieces of his brain (Mmmm...Kuru), and was then stabbed by the band's bassist, Count Grischnakh, because he thought Eurononymous had a more evil reputation. Go figure. Although some people think he did it, because he stabbed the guy 23 times, to out do the drummer of Emperor, Faust, who killed a homosexual acquaintance in the same fashion...what wonderful people, eh? Crazy crazy crazy story if I ever heard one.
-
WHAT THE FUCK?
-
Finish ze connection!
-
Charles Manson and Marilyn Monroe heavily influenced Marilyn Manson, who is said to have named himself after "the two most influential people of the century."
So, Marilyn Manson.
-
marilyn manson's first drummer (sara lee lucas) was in nocturne (for about two weeks).
-
a Nocturne is either an instumental dreamy piece of music (usually for piano) or alternately a painting of a scene at night time. The cover of one of Bright Eyes' new singles contains one such Nocturne. BE's Connor Oberst, the singer songwriter that everyone loves to hate, or loves to love, or hates to love, (most people seem to feel fairly passionate about their attitude towards the fellow) is also in a band called:
Desparacidos.
-
Desparacidos looks kind of like Despistado.
-
Despistado record with Jade Tree Records, another label named after a tree is Jarrah Records, and among the artists who record on that label are:
"John Butler Trio"
-
"John Butler Trio"
Hmm, something about the ominous silence since this post tells me Mr. Butler & Co. might not have quite cracked the international market just yet.
Anyway, John Butler is an American transplanted to Australia, as is . . . Ben Folds (unless he's got bored of Adelaide by now, that is).
-
Benfolds - benfolds five - Robert sledge-International Orange
-
---> the (international) noise conspiracy
-
Willard Grant Conspiracy
-
they have a song called "If Bojangles Couldn't Dance", and mr Bobby Cole has a song about a something called Bo jangles, so
BOBBY COLE
-
Easy...
Bobby Cole ---> Nat King Cole
-
Nat King Cole
-
Nat King COLE
Holly COLE tiro
-
I'm assuming you mean Holly Cole TRIO?
If so, then I'll go with the obvious:
Holly Cole Trio - Holly - Cole = Trio.
Trio
-
trio + 1 = quartet, so kronos quartet.
-
Trio = Trio Niskalaukaus (& Timo Rautiainen)
-
Alkaline Trio. (Bleh)
-
Alkaline - oposite to acid - Lysergic acid diethylamide - comonly known as LSD- Lucy in the sky- The Beatles
-
the beatles influënced almost every consequent band in the known üniverse, including outkast.
-
Outkast has an old single that I remember listening to, called "Ms. Jackson", so I'm going with
JANET JACKSON
(Please don't connect her to Miachel)
-
Janet Jackson found more fame recently when her tit popped out on TV, which isn't quite the same as having pop out on the radio, but all the same, it works as a link to
Scisssor Sisters - Tits on the Radio
-
i enjoy a good tata.
i am in a band called the ramonas
-
Scisssor Sisters - Tits on the Radio
Scissor Sisters - Bladed Weapons - Axes of Evil - 3 Inches of Blood
-
3 inches of Blood- Blood and chocolate- ELVIS COSTELLO!
-
Easiest connection EVER.
Elvis Costello --> Elvis
-
Elvis was apparently the king.
King Diamond.
-
King Diamond -> King Crimson
-
King Crimson => Kings of Crunk => Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz
*prepares to hide from flying objects*
-
Lil Jon ruined "Crazy Train."
Therefore, Ozzy Osbourne.
-
Ozzy Osbourne got a reality show. So did Ashlee Simpson. (Let us pray that it gets canceled soon)
-
Ashlee Simpson => Pieces of Me => I Fall to Pieces => Willie Nelson
-
Willie Nelson always reminds me of Merle Haggard....I don't know why.
but yeah...
Merle Haggard
-
Merle Haggard reminds me of Milton Berle
Milton is a character from Office Space
The song "Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangster" was in that movie as performed by....
the Geto Boys
~~Willis
-
the Ghetto Boys implies that they are boys in a Ghetto.
50 cent, despite the absurd fucking amounts of cash he has, still raps about how he's still in the ghetto.
Therefore, Fitty Cent. (ACK)
-
Fiddy was rather badly bottled at Reading. Another band to get bottled off the stage at the festival was Daphne and Celeste, who were known for such as musical gems as 'ooh, stick you', 'UGLY' and a comedy raping of fAlice Cooper's 'school's out'. So, Alice Cooper.
-
alice cooper. i once saw an interview with him on tv where he was making fun of marilyn manson. "hey, here's a fantastic idea...let's use the first name of a girl for my stage name! no one's ever done that before."
marilyn manson.
-
Marilyn Manson had a few legal proceedings to deal with from Charles Manson's estate, as did northern British scallies Mansun, who named themselves after a Verve b-side. The Verve were shite, but the link works, so go with it :)
-
The Drugs did work for Mick and Keef, who co-penned "Bittersweet Symphony" with Mr Ashcroft. so
The Rolling Stones
-
"But everybody knows the boss
A rolling stone who gathers no moss"
Jimi Hendrix.
-
Jimi Hendrix has been done before, but Living Colour did a cover of Crosstown Traffic, which is a Hendrix song.
They also have the distinction of being the only all-black hard rock band. Ever.
-
Egads. Sorry about the Jimi Hendrix repeat. I only thought you couldn't repeat the same connection between two bands.
Apologies.
-
Vernon Reid was the guitarist for Living colour, who at one point recorded with Public Enemy.
-
I just want to say that Vernon Reid is also awesome. That is all.
-
Public Enemy released an album called "There's A Poison Goin' On," a clear link to everybody's favorite Glam-Metal band...
-
poison: a crazy ass glam-rock band
\/
\/
\/
the darkness: also a crazyass glam rock band
-
One of King Diamond's most famous songs is 'A Mansion in Darkness. It's from the album Abigail. There is also a band called Abigail.
so Abigail.
-
Abigail was the lead character in the 1993 animated film, "Once Upon a Forest". The theme song was composed by Will Jennings, who wrote "Tears in Heaven" with Eric Clapton.
-
Clapton used to play with derek and the dominoes, dominoes are black and white, much as is the "hello dave, you're my wife now" character in the League of Gentlemen, which is set in a village called Royston Vasey which is clearly intented to be in the valleys of wales (my opinion - don't shoot me if yours differs) another character in the programme is Les McQueen.
Therefore McQueen
-
I sincerely wish I knew the name of a homosexual Scottish musician.
-
I sincerely wish I knew the name of a homosexual Scottish musician.
Well, there have been rumors about that Annie Lennox girl.
-
I really can see why.
-
Mcqueen ---> McLusky
-
Dude! McQueen were in the guardian this week, only thing is, my mate appears to have left the band...
Anyhoos, back on track...
McLuskey have a song called 'Dave, stop killing prostitutes'.
A band with a member called Dave is The Killers.
However, I doubt he's ever killed a prostitute.
Anyway, The Killers.
-
the killers, minus the 'er' = the kills
-
One of the members of the Kills is Hotel. There is a Hotel California, therefore, the Eagles.
-
the eagles.... eagles are birds.. so...
the byrds
to everything turn turn turn
there is a season turn turn turn
-
David Crosby was in the Byrds.... oh, and that think with his name in it... Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.
CSNY.
-
Take CSNY, ditch the S and rearrange a little, and you have NYC, a song by Interpol.
-
The Beastie Boys suck now, but they used to be cool...
just like The Alkaline Trio
-
NOFX once released an EP comprised of a single 18+ minute-long song.
Just like the Decemberists.
-
colin meloy from decemberists loves morrisey, so, morrisey
-
Morrisey is a twat. So is Jon Anderson from Yes
I like Yes, but Jon Anderson is one of the biggest pompous twats every, constantly spouting on about bullshit...
-
Yes reminds me of The Who.
So, The Who.
-
The Who ----> The Postal Service
That was SOOOO lame
-
Lame, and it brings us inevitably to The The.
-
The Strokes need to cut their hair.
Metallica cut their hair, and people got pissed.
-
Metallica wasn't Kirk Hammett's first band, but
EXODUS was.
-
Exodus is most likely one of those vaguely similar thrash/speed metal bands who came about before Metallica and Slayer and influenced them.
So I say Kreator. Yes. Kreator.
-
Kreator made the same typo as Kataklysm when naming their band.
-
Kataklysm is Canadian.
Avril Lavigne hails from Soviet Canuckistan as well.
-
If you want Soviet popstars, try Tatu.
-
T.A.T.U. used the same naming process as W.A.S.P.
-
The guitarist from W.A.S.P. once was knocked unconscious onstage when a slab of meat hit him in the head.
Which is fucking hilarious.
Just like Tom Lehrer.
-
Stephen Lynch --> Stephen Malkmus
~~Willis
-
Stephen Malkmus >> S.M. >> S&M >> Metallica & The San Francisco Symphony Orchestra
-
The San Francisco Symphony Orchestra is nothing compared to the behemoth, legend, and talent that is the Cleveland Orchestra
~~Willis
-
Cleveland Orchestra => Cleveland Browns => The Five Browns

*draws breath*
5ive?
{sorry!}
-
5ive has done a greatest hits album, and so has toto.
toto it is..
-
Toto sings a song about Africa.
The African Queen was a movie.
Queen is a band (and a good one to boot)
~~Willis
-
Queen--> Queens of the Stoneage. Pretty obvious right?
-
QOTSA have a track on their new album called "In My Head", as does No Doubt.
-
one of my fave pink floyd songs have the line "the lunatic is in my head"...
PINK FLOYD
-
Pink Floyd is AWSOME, and the opposite of AWSOME, is HORRIBLE, and Lnkin Park is HORRIBLE, so Linkin Park
-
Linkin Park did that split with Jay-Z, who does Heinikan adds and what jerks are infamamous for drinking it?
THE STROKES.
-
"The Strokes" just sounds like a masturbation reference.
The best euphamism for masturbation ever was in a song by Elvis Costello ("Now that your picture's in the paper/ Being rhythmically
admired").
-
elvis costello sang alison
and the Pixies sang a song by the same name...
THE PIXIES
(alison is my name and Pixie is one of my nicknames... thought it was intresting)
-
the pixies did a song for fight club. dust brothers did the rest of that soundtrack....dust brothers is like blood brothers.
-
Brothers in Arms is an album by Dire Straits
~~Willis
-
'Dire Wolf' is a song by the Grateful Dead
betcha didn't see that one coming-
-
Grateful Dead is awsome, can you believe someone stole my only cd i had from them, and they also to my Pink Floyd cd, those fucking assholes
-
Greatful Dead. --> Wake the Dead --> Praxis. (<3)

Rearrange "Praxis" and you get the words "rap" and "six". Jurassic 5 is a six-person rap group.

Jurassic 5-->Word with letters-->Electric 6

Wow, props for that connection. Props and cookies.

Wow, props for that connection. Props and cookies.

Yeah, that was very impressive
Back ontopic...
Fatboy Slim's video of Praise You was directed by Spike Jones who has directed an assortment of videos including Crush With Eyeliner by one R.E.M.
~~Willis, who always feels the need to plug R.E.M.
-
Michael Stipe from REM has been offering his endorsement to Now it's Overhead (who are fantastic, and from Omaha - there's definite correlation between coming from this place and being brilliant). NiO feature Maria Taylor and Orenda Fink, better known as Azure Ray, who are also brilliant, so Azure Ray.
-
Well thanks, folks, I do what I can.
In this case, it's noting that Orenda Fink plays Garrison guitars. Jess Stinco of Simple Plan has been known to do so, too, so Simple Plan.
*Sits back to watch all the Snooty Indie Kids twitch*
*twitches*

"I'm a dick- I'm a dick- I'm addicted to you
Might as well face it I'm addicted to you..."
That doesn't sound right.... Robert Palmer.
-
Dean Palmer is a baseball player.
Dean Martin was a singer.
~~Willis, likes giving unconventional answers
-
Chris martin is the singer for coldplay, who did some tracks with faultline - so, faultline
-
line - --- the starting line
-
The Starting Line -> The Stars of Track & Field -> Belle & Sebastian
-
Sebastian was a character from the Little Mermaid which featured the song Under the Sea which was by Alan Menken
~~Willis, providing yet another unconventional response
-
Alan Menken also wrote 'A Whole New World' ---> 'Around the World' is a song by Daft Punk
-
Still the daftest punk ever to live, was Sid Vicious.
-
Sid Vicious, of Sex Pistols fame, was a Britlander (I know that's not a word, but it is now, suckas!)
The Clash, also of London, have a song called "The Guns of Brixton."
-
Genaside II has a song by the name of "Streets of San Fran Brixton"
so...Genaside II
-
Genaside II ---> Boys II Men!
Bwahahaha.
-
The New Kids On the Block
-
...may have a party, on their block, to celeabrate being new and all, and call it a Bloc Party.
Oh, the hilarity.
-
Bloc party has song called "Like eating glass",
Primus has a song called "Glass sandwich", so
PRIMUS
-
primus has the brown album ---> James Brown
-
James Brown has had 17 songs reach the #1 spot on Billboard R&B charts, and so has Aretha Franklin.
-
Aretha Franklin is on Time's list of top 20 influential artists and entertainers of the 20th century.
So is Bob Dylan. :]
-
Right now, I'm listening to Social Distortion's cover of Don't think Twice, It's Alright.
Social Distortion
-
(Damn it! I finally work the kinks out of my Dylan -> Shatner link, but I'm too late! Nooooooooo... ;))
-
Social Distortion are namedropped in 'Riot Girl' by Good Charlotte.
(I'm really surprised noone's said them yet.)
-
I can't come up with anything remotely clever, so I go with this:
good moaning is a song by Dead Meadow
-
Dead Meadow were influenced by the same genres as My Bloody Valentine.
-
My Bloody Valentine > My Funny Valentine > one of the too-many people who sang that... CHAKA KHAN
-
Chakka Khan is to Scared of Chaka, the only band I know of from New Mexico, who happen to also rock.
-
New Mexico-->Alberquerque-->Wierd Al Yankovic
-
Weird Al hasn't done an original song in his life. Neither have Good Charlotte.
-
Good Charlotte have completely shit haricuts, as did/do Status Quoe.
-
"The status quo, built on suspect..."
lyrics from The Decline by NOFX
-
NOFX is four letters, as is SOAD, aka
System Of A Down
-
Bright Eyes has a song called Down in A Rabbit Hole
Therefore Bright Eyes
-
bright eyes --> song "in my eyes" by --> minor threat
-
minor threat -> a minor forest
-
A Minor Forest - Styx
Both have a song named "Lady"
-
Gus Gus has a song called 'Ladyshave'
therefore Gus Gus
-
The Devil made me do it:
Gus Gus - a band named with one name, repeated. That can only lead me to (shudder) Duran Duran.
-
I have a soft spot for Duran Duran, especially that video they had with the woman wearing a lampshade on her head, I forget who it is...
Anyhoos, a band who seem hell bent on replicating their sound (with added bursts of Shed 7 for good measure) is
The Killers
-
the killers were on tour with the futureheads
-
Weird, I was gonna continue that link to get to the futureheads, for the exact same reason...
Obvious progression...The Futureheads' last single (and their best) is a cover of Kate Bush's Hounds of Love...
which is loosely about Dogs.
Dogs are an average band still playing the toilet circuit, but recently they played with The Boxer Rebellion, who are actually quite good, so...
The Boxer Rebellion.
-
'Da Mystery of Chessboxin' is a song by the Wu Tang Clan
-
The Futureheads' last single (and their best) is a cover of Kate Bush's Hounds of Love...
I'm so disappointed that you didn't leave the link at Kate Bush!
-
RZA is a member of the Wu-Tang Clan, and helped to do music for the Kill Bill movies. The 5 6 7 8s also did music for the Kill Bill movies.
-
5, 6, 7, 8! Mah boot scoot'n baby, drivin' me crazy

MWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!
-
oh wow, i think i killed it.
now I'm torn between *cackles maniacally* and *sobs uncontrollably*...
-
there is an british genre called two-step and there is another british genre called UK Garage, in this genre there was this really shitty band called So Solid Crew, therefore-
So Solid Crew
-
So Solid Crew were the first UK 'group' to my knowledge that achieved fame through the chav market. Another person to do this, more recently, was Mike Skinner, of The Streets
-
"The Street Giveth and The Street Taketh Away" was an album by Cat Mother and the All-Night Newsboys, produced by Jimi Hendrix.
That should provide plenty of link words!
-
Hendrix performed All Along The Watchtower,
which was written by
Bob Dylan
-
Bob Dylan's real name is something ridiculous.
So was Elton John's.
-
how is robert zimmerman ridiculous?
oh well.
elton john has been knighted.
so has mick jagger
who is of the rolling stones
like the song "cover of the rolling stone"
by DR HOOK
-
DR Hook -> Dr. Bombay
I am so sorry :(
-
Bombay is a brand of Gin
--> The Gin Blossoms
~~Willis
-
The Gin Blossoms---> Blossom the TV Show ---> The chick from Blossom had a big nose---> Humpty Hump had a big prosthetic nose ---> The Digital Underground
Awesome.
-
...resisting the urge to link the 'digital' to something Bright Eyes related...
Okies - Underground...Girls Aloud had a (rather ace) song called 'Sound of the Underground'. They also raped The Pretenders' I'll Stand By You. The Pretenders were fronted by Chrissie Hynde, who is name checked in Peaches' 'Fuck the Pain Away' with the line 'check out my chrissie be-hynde', rather charmingly, so...Peaches.
And please don't say presidents of the usa, I beseech you..
-
You could've said 2pac because he was in the Digital Underground, but indie fucks will be indie fucks.
Peaches did a song with Iggy Pop called "Kick It"---> which has a similar songtitle to A Tribe Called Quest's "Can I Kick It?"---> which samples "Walk On The Wild Side" by---> Lou Reed
-
Lou Reed was in The Velvet Underground which has an album feathuring a painting of Bannana by Andy Warhol, this was spoofed by a band featuring his name The Dandy Warhols
So-----> The Dandy Warhols.
-
The Sea and Cake
because, the structure of the name is the same, captain relates to the sea (what else would he sail on?), and cake just because it's damn good, like good music! I hope that makes sense =P
-
oups, bad webpage upload on my computer! well here it goes.
The Dandy Warhols ---> Antony & The Johnsons
because of the album cover picture of Cindy Darling who was related to Andy Warhol (can't remember how, but I think she was one of the artists he worked with). Deep stuff.
-
Antony & The Johnsons ---> Cleopatra (obscure teen girl bandthing from a few years ago)
-
Cleopatra=Egyption
Walk like and Egyptio by THE BANGLES

Bangles are a fashion accessory, as are some items of clothing, so...
My Morning Jacket

The Replacements was a movie featuring Keanu Reeves.
Keanu Reeves is in a band called Dogstar
~~Willis
-
Dogstar -> Star -> Stars
-
stars-->Moby have a song called We are all made of Stars.
So Moby
-
Led Zepplin had a song called Moby Dick. So Zepplin.
(that is right, correct. Or is my brain making up stuff again?)
-
Led Zepplin- when John Bonham died, two of the remaining members were going to for a band with two other members from Yes called XYZ.
So, Yes.
-
Yes---->no------>No Doubt
-
No Doubt -> Gwen Stefani
EASY ANSWER'D
-
Gwen Stefani---> Wishes she was a "Rich Girl", which was produced by---> Dr. Dre, who was the producer for---> N.W.A, which had the member Eazy E, who died of AIDS, much like---> Freddy Mercury who was the singer for---> Queen, who were the first Western rock band to be legalized for sale in Iran--->"I Ran" is also the name of a popular 80's hit by---> Flock Of Seagulls
-
Flock of Seagulls --> animal --> Modest Mouse
-
The Mouse King is the antagonist in the ballet, The Nutcracker which was composed by Tchaikovsky
~~Willis
-
Antihero had a song called 'Tchaichovsky gave me nightmares'.
Antihero are a band from Bury St. Edmunds, as are Miss Black America (evil fucktards) and The Dawn Parade, who are ace, so The Dawn Parade.
-
The Dawn Parade --> The Love Parade --> is in Berlin --> Berlin is in Germany --> Einsturzende Neubauten is german so Einsturzende Neubauten ;)
-
Einsturzende Neubauten is German, and so is
*Tugs at collar uncomfortably*
RAMMSTEIN
-
Rammstein > Lamb Stein (BBC TV Chef)http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/roastloinoflambwithk_71903.shtml
BBC Radio 4 used to be called The Home Service, which is also the name of a 1980's folk group
-
The home serive (the radio thing) would always turn on at midnight after Radio Solent (yay! BBC local radio!) shut down for the night, I first heard of 10CC on radio Solent
10CC
-
CC is a unit used to measure medicine and blood, and there's a song called raining blood, so
SLAYER
-
Slayer did a song with Atari Teenage Riot.
So Atari Teenage Riot
-
Hahaha...Hanson were teenagers...so Hanson
-
Hanson look like girls so i guess you could say the "Spice Girls"
-
Mel C of the Spice Girls features on this remake of the Sgt Pepper cover: http://www.guardian.co.uk/thebeatles/story/0,11212,962235,00.html
Also featured is Elvis Costello
-
Straylight Run ddid a song called Costello.
-
(RETARDED STATEMENT REMOVED)
I apoligize for my blunt stupidity.
-
Er, you might want to have a glance just one post further up than you did last time . . .
-
Straylight Run ddid a song called Costello.
Abbot and Costello
Abbot rhymes with rabbit.
There is a rabbit on the cover of Superchunk's Foolish album.
There ya go, Superchunk.
-
Actually I think the connection has to be with Straylight Run.
-
Thom Yorke screams "run, run, run, run, run." in Creep, so Radiohead
-
Korn had a guitarist called Head...Korn
-
Runrig have a song with these lines:
So shine on harvest moon
Cast your might on the ripening corn
So Runrig
-
BTW - Runrig is an old Scottish system of agriculture - much respect and many bonus points if you can make a link that uses that!
-
In agriculture you can produce corn, there is a movie called Children of the Corn, and if you replace the "the corn" with Bodom, you have a shitty metal band,
Children of Bodom(or is it boredom, I can't remember)
-
OH SHIT! 666 REPLIES, YO! THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST AND SHIT.
PANIC AND TERROR
Continue.

HAHA
Number of the beast was originaly by Slayer but was covered by Billy Corgan and played durring the opening of the movie Spun.
-
Number of the beast was originaly by Slayer but was covered by Billy Corgan and played durring the opening of the movie Spun.
Number of the Beast is by Iron Maiden, not Slayer.
edit: Also, Children of Bodom are awesome. I mean, come on, have you heard Triple Corpse Hammerblow?
-
Ignoring Happybirthdaygelatin's incorrectness, Iron maden did Number of the beast. Maiden is british metal, and so is
JUDAS PRIEST
-
A priest...a vicar....a stripping vicar...and you get to... Mansun! - Stripper Vicar..
-
. . . And from there we get to "Nick the Stripper", by The Birthday Party.
-
edit: Also, Children of Bodom are awesome. I mean, come on, have you heard Triple Corpse Hammerblow?
Yes. the Hatecrew rox my sox. The whole HCDR CD is like a buzzsaw of melodic tech-metal aggression. No CD could open with 'Needled 24/7' and be bad.
Anyway
Mansun sounds identical to Manson. Marilyn Manson produced Jack off Jill's first album, so Jack off Jill.
-
What, am I invisible now?
Fine. I guess I'll just go and do some work then.
-
. . . And from there we get to "Nick the Stripper", by The Birthday Party.
The Birthday Party's Rowland S Howard wrote several film soundtracks, and The Locust appeared on the soundtrack to the film Cecil B Demented.
-
Inlander posted as I posted. Also, on a sideline, The Locust are shite. Even more shite than The Dillinger Escape Plan. And that's a feat.
-
I always got the Dillinger Escape Plan and Dillinger Four confused last year...so Dillinger Four
-
Dillinger Four -> Herbie Hancock's album Head Hunters only has 4 tracks on it, so.. Herbie Hancock
-
Herbie Hancock was the pianist in the second great Miles Davis Quintet (mid-60s). The pianist in the first great Davis quintet (mid-50s) was Red Garland.
-
I maye be fucking up the order, but Herbie Hancock played on Jaco Pastorius' solo album, so I gotta say, Jaco motherfucking Pastorius.
-
Jaco played bass, Flea plays Bass.
So Flea played for red hot chili peppers
so red hot chili peppers
(sorry this one kinda sucks but you went super obscure.)
-
Jaco Pastorious is obscure?
-
Unless you are into Avant-Garde Jazz, yes.
-
Well excuse me if I happen to be into avant-garde jazz.
-
Red Hot Chili Peppers once featured Dave Navarro, he is married to Carmen Electra who has 'a nice pair', you could go as far as to say that they got her to where she is now, sooooo........
Dolly Parton
-
Dolly the sheep was named after Dolly Parton, as she was cloned from a mammary cell. Dolly has had some medical problems. So Sheep on Drugs.
-
sheep on drugs are some sheep that are on drugs (Apparently), and Anthony Kedis isn'e exactly known for saying no to heroin, so
THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
-
Dude, again?? You've got to read a little further back into the thread!
-
It's far enough back; I don't care
-
Okay. Arguably the high point of the Chili Peppers' album "Mother's Milk", was a cover of "Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder.
-
The first track on Dimmu Borgir's album 'Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia' was 'Fear and Wonder'. Dimmu Borgir translates into english as Dark Fortress.
-
Jaco Pastorious is obscure?
I dig I dig
Any way Dark Fortress is a cheesey fantasy type name as is Iron Maiden.
-
Iron Maiden --> Iron & Wine
-
Iron and Wine covered Such Great Heights by Postal Service
-
The Shins covered We Will Become Silhouettes by the Postal Service
The Shins!
-
Shins - legs - walk
So:
Walk on the Wild Side - Lou Reed
-
Lou Reed was in Velvet Underground and so was that weird german model called Nico
-
Velvet Underground -- Velvet Revolver ?? gah ?? how the eff should i know
-
Meh...the singer from velvet revolver is currently capitalising on his crack usage to gain publicity for himself. Another band to do this rather more shamelessly is The Libertines, or, more recently Babyshambles.
-
who has a song called Kilmangiro, which is about killing a guy for his money --> a one-hit wonder called Las Ketchup was obviously only after easy dinero as they would say. Stereolab made an album a long time ago called Emperor Tomato Ketchup,
so Stereolab
-
stereolab --> stereo --> mono --> mono für alle!
-
stereolab --> stereo --> mono --> mono für alle!
Dead Kennedys - "California uber alles"
-
dead kennedys -> dead -> dying -> ben folds - "the luckiest"
Next door there’s an old man who lived to his nineties
And one day passed away in his sleep
And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days
And passed away
-
ben folds - "the luckiest" --> comic cowboy lucky luke --> name of the dog in that comic: rantanplan --> german ska punk band rantanplan
-
wow, you sure like those obscure ones. :)
-
Ran-tan-plan -> plan ->
DAMAGEPLAN
-
Damgeplan - The Damage is done by Yo La Tengo. So Yo La Tengo.
-
Yo La Tengo did a (slighlty odgy) reworking of You Stole The Sun from my Heart, which is by Manic Street Preachers.
-
Preachers usually are on some sort of path or ministry, so
MINISTRY
-
Stormtroopers of Death covered 'Stigmata' and 'Thieves' on Live at Budokan.
-
Stormtroopers of Death covered 'Stigmata' and 'Thieves' on Live at Budokan.
budokan sounds like budokai
dragon ball z: budokai is a videogame
dragon ball z is an anime
my friend nicknamed dragonite likes dragons
BAD METAL BAD, DRAGONFORCE
p.s. way to almost kill my monsterr
-
Just because you can't handle the guitar solos making up 60% of each song.
You're calling them a bad Metal band, well a Metal band, also from London who actually do suck:
Labrat.
Lame but I haven't had my morning tea yet.
-
Labrat -> Da Brat
-
Da Brat->in the Surreal Life with Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Go's. So the Go-Gos.
-
The Go-Go's are an all girl group well known for badgirl behavior
just like
The Runaways
-
an original member of the runaways was joan jett
who should NOT have been included on rolling stone's "100 greatest guitarists of all time" list
just like kurt cobain...
...of NIRVANA
-
Noooo! I can't believe you linked to Kurt Cobain instead of Del Shannon!
-
Noooo! I can't believe you linked to Kurt Cobain instead of Del Shannon!
okay, but kurt cobain was number 13 or something outrageous like that
-
Also with their sights set on the afterlife (and just as crap...) - Heaven 17!
-
Heaven 17 -> Carrie Brownstein's pre Sleater-Kinney band EXCUSE 17
-
17 + 1 = 18 -> Hangar 18 -->
MEGADETH
-
Pssht. Why not include bands I don't even like all that much. Yay for mainstream.
Megadeth-->Mega-->Megalomaniac-->Incubus
-
Incubus---->Demon
Slayer---> Songs about Demons
So Slayer
-
Slayer is one of the original "4 best metal bands"(also see Metallica, Megadeth, and
IRON MAIDEN
-
Iron Maiden --> Iron and Wine --> Wine is like champagne --> Champgane For My Real Friend, Real Pain for my Sham Friends by Fall Out Boy!
-
(don't listen to em, but first thing to come to mind)
grand theft autumn by fall out boy => from autumn to ashes
-
Necromance'd!!
Autumn to Ashes -> Autumn -> September -> Wake Me Up When September Ends -> Green Day
-
As said in High Fidelity:
Green Day were inspired by The Clash and Stiff Little Fingers! (Who I don't even really dig at all...)
-
La Creme you don't dig SLF? really? I thought you said somewhere you liked *good* punk... is it the northern ireland politics you don't understand (some people state that as a reason)? Personally I LOVE SLF they are awesome live, even now, dispite the fact that they are ancient, but then again I am Northern Irish.
Um.. yeah.. sorry off topic. :) Prolly cant bring it back its 4:30 am here... Will maybe when I'm actually sorta awake.
-
I've just never really had reason to like them. Maybe it was just who I was when I heard them or something of that nature. Who knows? Maybe I'd like them now. My tastes have gotten progressively more acclectic over the past year and a half.
On the other hand, I do likes me some good punk, say like the band that is your avatar. I haven't been able to find the first disc of "Thank You Very Little" for 2 years now. Got it in 2002 at the Warped Tour (I was twelve... oh god... please forgive me... actually it was a good year... because they had Reel Big Fish... so fuck it) and it makes me proud that they are one of those bands that I just saw the name and the cover and everything and I just said "I think I'm going to like this band..."
-
As said in High Fidelity:
Green Day were inspired by The Clash and Stiff Little Fingers! (Who I don't even really dig at all...)
Stiff Little Fingers ---> Little ---> Qualitative measurement of size ---> They Might Be Giants
-
Might ---> Maybe I Caught Fire (a song by an unknown band, I heard it one time but didn't catch the band, but which was probably a blatant ripoff of...) ---> I Caught Fire by The Used!
Yeesh, that one sucked...
-
The Used played that one shitty song Box of Shap objects --> Two Swords is a song about sharp things --> The English Beat play Two Swords
@Merkava: Nice.
-
Beat --> Beating involves touching --> A Little Less 16 Candles, A Little More "Touch Me" by Fall Out Boy --> Fall --> Autumn --> From Autumn to Ashes has a sound like that of Atreyu!
-
rawr, I am thinks yours go a little too far into the extreme regions of obscure...
-
Atreyu is the band all the other screamo bands that exist now came from, methinks.
-
No no, I mean you go through like, six or seven stages to get from one band to another. It's supposed to be a gradual thing methinks. Whatever. It's just a game, so however you have your fun.
= ) maxors.
-
I didn't wanna use FOB twice :)
-
Atreyu -> begins with an 'A' -> as does Anal Cunt
-
Cunt can be an insult --> Smother My Brother by tFDQFP13 has numerous insults --> The frontman of tFDQ is also in The Murderdolls!
-
Helloween do a song called Murderrer, so Helloween!
Goddamit, Helloween are terrific.
-
Hell --> Hell has Demons --> a very very early Marilyn Manson song is called Lucy In The Sky With Demons --> their ex-bassist Jeordie White is in A Perfect Circle
-
A perfect circle is good to make out to (or so i hear)-->Sigur Ros is great to make out to so, Sigur Ros
-
A Perfect Circle > Are perfectly circlular > Circles > The Unpoetic Circle > a song by Ephel Duath
(also, just as a point of interest, I'm not sure everyone here would get The Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 just by an acronym)
-
Ephel Duath's The Painter's Pallette album, is based on the correlation between sound and color, as is Miles Davis' Aura album. so MILES DAVIS.
-
My roommate has a Miles Davis t-shirt, and he also has a GANG OF FOUR t-shirt.
-
Gang of Four --> Lamb has an album called Fear of Fours
so Lamb
-
L.A.M.B. is the name of Gwen Stefani's clothing line, and she's the lead singer of No Doubt, whose opening act two years ago was Garbage.
-
"House Full Of Garbage" is a song by Shellac, which is the band of Bob Weston who produced one of the albums of June of 44.
-
Garbage > Garbage Inc. is a derogatory phrase used by metal elitists for Metallica's 'Garage Inc.' > Metallica's cover of 'So What?' on Garage Inc. exposed a lot of new people to the ANL > The Anti-Nowhere League
And Shellac sounds a bit like 'So What?'
The Anti-Nowhere League
-
The first timem I listened to the Anti-Nowhere League was in a small record store in Santa Barbara, which was also the place where I bought my first GWAR cd!
It was "This Toilet Earth" btw.
@Kai: Also nice. Aura is kickasssss.
-
GWAR sort of sounds like YARR and certain bands like it when you yell YARR at them, for example Minus The Bear.
-
I always liken the members of The Magic Numbers to bears, in the way that I'm sure I could hug them.
-
Kitty Wu has a song on their second album Rules of Transportation called Rule Number 9.
-
This ones kind of a given.
Kitty Wu sounds like Husker Du! (sry I dont know the command key for umlauts...)
-
alt 129
Another band with umaluts is Motörhead, but they are spelt correctly with alt 0246
-
Motorhead covered God save the Queen, originally sang by Sex Pistols.
(i need a nap.. my typing is dreadful)
-
If your foe is packing a Sex Pistol, you want to pack one or more Sex Machineguns
-
a sex firefight would most likely yield sexy results -> death from above 1979
-
death --> goth --> the Cure
-
o is for 'Only teengoths listen to The Cure'
(or 'Connection is too nebulous')
Death From Above 1979 > 1979 > The Smashing Pumpkins
-
O is for shut up! Ray listens to the Cure!
pumpkins --> Halloween --> is a song by the Misfits
-
The misfits sang songs about horror movies (famous monsters), horror movies contain ghouls i give to thee the Groovy Ghoulies
-
Ghoul --> The Murderdoll's drummer's nickname was Ghoul --> their bassist is also in the band called the Napoleon Blownaparts.
-
Napoleon Blowparts ends with S, which brings me to Strike Anywhere.
-
Napoleon's forces fought at the Battle of Waterloo, which is a song by Running Wild. Who also have a song called 'Raise Your Fist' and what can you do with a raised fist? Strike. Anywhere.
-
Running wild is a segment of lyrics in "Wild Child" by the Doors ==> "Wild Child" is on the same CD (The Soft Parade) as the voted worst Doors song "Runnin' Blue" (which I actually quite like) ==> The first line of "Runnin' Blue" makes an allution to the death of Otis Redding, so Otis Redding it is!
-
Redding is the name of a town in the game Fallout Tactics --> Fallout Boy
-
Fallout Boy is a band that seems to be used way the fuck too much in this game ===> Another thing that gets used too much is the word "awesome" ===> Liquid Tension Experiment truly are awesome.
-
NURRR FALL OUT IS TWO WORDS NURRR
Experiment --> experimental --> experimental rock --> Deerhoof!
-
NURR FACE. Sorry. I um... don't... care. = P
-
I didn't expect you to :D
-
Colin Meloy likes Deerhoof, so ---> The Decemberists
-
"December" is a song by Collective Soul, as is "Shine", and "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" is a song by Pink Floyd.
-
My freind has a cockatoo named Pink Floyd, and he listens to a lot of AC/DC!
*EDIT* My friend, not the bird...
-
AC/DC are from Australia but many laypersons assume they're from England. One of my friends is from England and most people assume from his accent that he's from Australia. And this friend of mine is absolutely in love with Guns and Roses.
-
i played Axl Rose in a Airband contest. i played Lars Ulrich in a different airband contest. so Metallica
-
Metallica are (or at least were, in the day) heavily inspired by Mercyful Fate
-
Fate is not really all that mercyful, and plus's usually aren't bad, so The Bad Plus!
-
Plus, Plus ... hmmm ... there was a song about AIDS few years ago named plus/minus performed by caliber .44
-
.44 reminds me of June of 44 -> who I found via a epitonic.com -> another band I found there are Ruins
-
You could say that William Hung's career was based on ruining ears.
-
William Hung to William Shatner because their names are both William and neither of them can sing.
-
William Shatner should not be singing and neither should Ringo Starr!
Seriously, he's supposed to be the quiet, surly, oddball one.
-
The fact that the Beatles were so high, they let Ringo sing a couple of tunes was chronicled by the illustrious comedian Bill Hicks, who had a band called The Marblehead Johnsons.
-
Johnson is another name for the penis.
The penis is located in the same area as the testicles.
Testicles are spherical almost orb like.
Ergo; the orb
-
"Orb" sometimes refers to the moon.
Ozzy sings "Bark at the Moon".
-
Ozzy was in Black Sabbath. The last part of the name of the band (Sabbath) is very similar to the totally kickass Sabbat.
-
Sabbat is close to sabbatical, which is another word for vacation, and one of the best vacation songs ever is "Escapade" by Janet Jackson.
-
Janet Jackson -> Justin "Fag" Timberlake
connected by janet titties :P
-
Justin Timberlake = fag
as does
Bright Eyes
-
Eyes ... Angel's Eyes ... Aerosmith ... I don't like them much, but this song is pretty cool ....
-
Steve Tyler's daughter starred in the recent film rendition of Lord of the Rings, a subject of many Led Zeppelin songs.
-
Led Zeppelin is one of them awesome old bands my parents and I absolutely adore, as is The Who.
-
The Who are not to be confused with the Guess Who, who sucked, according to a song by The Weakerthans.
-
the weatherthans and the constintines always tour together. I'm sure there attached in another way as well but I just don't know it.
-
the weatherthans and the constintines always tour together. I'm sure there attached in another way as well but I just don't know it.
-
Constantines > Constance Eternal > Song by Skyclad
-
Lil Kim is scarcely clad
-
lil kim was in a video with tommy lee drummer for motley crue (i didnt pay attention to the umlat lesson earlier)
-
Tommy Lee was in the video Get Naked.
-
Tommy Lee ? Pamela Anderson ? Kid Rock ... I'm frightening myself :D
-
kid rock did a song with Sheryl Crow
-
Joy Division cover ['dead souls' by NIN] was in a movie "Crow"
-
Joy Division is considered a goth band, like the far totally awesomer Inkubus Sukkubus. woo for goth music!
-
Interpol is often compaired to Joy Division
-
A succubus is a demon from hell desgned to steal the souls of men with her song.
Mariah Carey.
-
The Who are not to be confused with the Guess Who, who sucked, according to a song by The Weakerthans.
Dude, they wrote "American Woman". DOW DOW DOWDOWDOWdowDOWDOWDOW DOW DOW DOWDOWDOWDOWdowDOW MEEDLEMEEDLEMEEEEEERRRHDEEDLYDEEER etc.rawk.
Hmm. Mariah "Obviously Fake Tits" Carey's initials are MC. So, MC Honky.
-
Deborah Harry from Blondie was the first female honky rapper.
-
When I look through the used stacks at the record store, I always find Blondie albums where my beloved Blonde Redhead should be.
-
There is an O in blonde, which brings me to Oasis.
-
Liam Gallagher of Oasis, who totally suck and Liam is a total shithead, called George Harrison a "Nipple". so George Harrsion.
-
george harrison was a beatle (duh?)
-
The Beatles wrote the song She Said, She Said, which was covered by The Black Keys on their first album.
