I love you all that much more now.  It might be silly to like somebody more because they like certain bands, but god damn do I love In Flames, and Jeph made my day (er....early morning) by including that in the update.  My respect for his musical taste grows by the day.

I liked In Flames, I just didn't like their latest album much for some reason. I'm keeping a little hope up for the new one, though.

I didn't like their newest album nearly as much either, and Reroute To Remain was good but I think their best stuff is on Clayman and The Jester Race.  I love those albums more than I love most of my family.

In Flames pretty much sucks anything post-Colony, IMO.

And their better stuff isn't anything fantastic, just typical melodeath.

For swedish metal you are better off listening to Dissection or At The Gates. In Flames is just no good.

Haha. Is that a Dark Tranquillity shirt in the middle frame?  

Of course their old stuff is good, and I sort of liked Reroute to Remain, but in general both At the Gates and Dark Tranquillity destroy In Flames.

Dissection isn't really death metal, so I'm not sure what they have to do with At the Gates vs. In Flames.  If your talking metal from Sweden in General, what about Candlemass or Katatonia? Or Vintersorg?  Or Hammerfall? There's a huge variety of awesome bands from Sweden.

Yahr it is. I am actually deliberately parodying the dress of one of my friends who holds that opinion about In Flames there, but it works as a general archetype of the less poserish MDM fan, I think.

This all makes me want to go listen to some old school In Flames now....and laugh at the guy from Metalcrypt for trying to be tr00 while liking the latest album.

Because then we just go around like a bunch of hippies and never have objective talk about the fact that some bands just suck and they suck for various reasons...helping us to understand music and all. As I've said before...if you just say nice things...it all comes down to the "so you are too?" convo.

Yeah, I never dug much In Flames besides the songs "Moonshield" and the second instrumental on the Jester Race.
