my aerrogant friend is gloating about how he is building a system with sli. i told him to go with one 7800, he insists that if he gets 2 6800 GT's or ultras that he can have one handle the top of the monitor and the other handle the bottom half, this theory sounds like total BS to me, but i dont know that much about SLI can someone please explain?

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. One card does top half, other one does bottom half. IMHO, it's a bit overpowered at the moment. Give it a little while though, and it will be good.

thanks for clearing it up then, i went nvidia myself, dont care too much for ATI hear they have some driver issues going on
