Trailer (http://vforvendetta.warnerbros.com/trailer.html)
I'm curious to see if their screenplay turns out to be an actual good adaptation of the graphic novel. They've been working on it for years.
-
I wonder if the release date is going to be pushed to 2006 considering the current climate of London right now. This particular film might be kind of hard to swallow.
-
I hope not.
It needs to be released Nov. 5, 2005.
Besides, the English aren't nearly as weak and whiny as Americans about terrorism.
-
It needs to be released Nov. 5, 1997.
-
We'll probably release it just to piss of the terrorists.....
-
Hopefully the Wachowski brother and sister don't fuck this all ter hell, by like showing V's face or some nonsense.
-
I just know its going to involve a shot of Keanu Reeves' ass. I still wake up screaming from nightmares...
-
wait wait wait is keanu in it?
-
No. THere is no Keanu.
Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving.

Hooray! That's all we need, another comic book to film adaptation. We haven't seen one of those made for aaages!
-
Just watched that trailer, and it looks good. But I've never read the original comic. Can anyone tell me what this is all about?
-
Basically, after world war two, Britain experienced economic hardship, and just like how the nazis got into power, a group called the Norsefire (yay, more bad rep for us vikings!) got into power. Turned britain into an Orwellian society, got rid of all the malcontents, did experimentation on the public, and V pops up to take it all down in favor of true anarchism.
-
WOOO! ORWELIAN SOCIETY! Seriously, I'm totally pro going orwellian. It'd solve everything. I mean, what bad could come of absolute dystopia?
I'm totally going to have to go see this like eight times, and then read the comic and realize just how dissapointed with it I should have been, had I known that it was really crap, and not a really good movie. (the same thing happened for me with League of Extrordanary Gentlemen. I liked it, but then I found out that I was supposed to think it sucked.)
-
That's why I kinda have a rule that, unless I get told the original material is really, really good, then I won't read the book / comic / whatever if I saw the film and really enjoyed it.
But yes... I'll also probably be going to go see this, looks good... plus Portman is my (other) goddess.
-
I am majorly excited. It looks like Vertigo is finally starting to do what its fans know it must: mainstream itself, and then, when the general public hates all the movies that get made from vertigo, they will become cult classics.
Hurray cult film!

Someone's bitter about Constantine. =P
-
Hey, when veiwed as a totally seperate entity from the comic, Constantine didn't suck that bad. Besides just about everything in it. Still, I will remeian optomistic.
