I just dropped over $100 on The Prisoner box set. Anyone ever seen this show? it's a British spy show from the 60's, but it's really weird and kinda sci-fi. On that episode of The Simpsons where Homer starts a gossip website, the second half on the island is a parody of this show.
I <3 Patrick MacGoohan.

one of my favorite british spy shows from the 60s, hands down.

Fantastic show. I've watched it through a couple of times, and it gets better with every viewing. The exception being that I was charmed by the finale the first time and now I find it gets more incoherent and frustrating with each subsequent viewing. Ah, well. McGoohan rules. I try to pimp the series out to my friends whenever I can.

the place where it was filmed, Portmerion, shows episodes of the Prisoner every night. I've stayed there a couple of times and seen some episodes. It's really weird but I quite liked it.

that was a pretty cool show, i used to watch it on PBS.

Actually, no, I've never seen it. Was that the one where there was a possibly sentient bubble that would catch you if you tried to get off of the island?

it was the one where a big white bubble would catch you if you tried to escape.

I knew that had to be from something. Thanks, I'll have to track it down and watch it some time.
