Just saw this and was agast.

Car Voltron was total crap compared to lion voltron.

Its like comparing A New Hope to The Phantom Menace.

Which is why I don't know which one to hope for in the movie version - Lion Voltron, 'cause it's awesome, or Car Voltron, 'cause it won't hurt so much if they fuck it up.

I never got too into voltron, but i did find it cool.
Im not a fan of this idea, because hollywood would ruin everything i liked about this show and transformers. Because they just dont get it.

I vote that WE direct the movie instead! Who's with me?

I agree that smart fans could make this and transformers alot better than the idiots in Hollywood.

I have horrible visions of Spy Kids or some shit.

Personally, I can't care all that much about "Voltron," since all they did was take two Japanese shows, remove all the stuff that made them cool (like the violence) and dub them into cheesy English. the animal Voltron was originally Centibestial King GoLion. The title, by the way, is a pun — the Japanese were knew English enough to know the word "go," which in Japanese also means "five." (And in Japanese, there is no difference between plural and singular) So GoLion could translate either as Five Lions or as Go! Lions! The vehicle Voltron, meanwhile, came from a show called Armored Fleet Dairugger XV.

Ahh Voltron.  For a birthday a loooong time ago I received an entire Voltron set (minus the little action figures).  I still have possession of it and never realized what kind of cult toy it would become.  Additionally I have a Voltron Puzzle set.  It's a 3D puzzle that fold up into the individual figureines and then you can build the whole Voltron.  Very cool.  I need to dig that up soon.

I had one of the original Voltron toys back in the 80s, but some report came out that it was painted with lead so it got returned.  I have since bought the reissue and he sits on my book shelf :)
