This is the thread I mentioned in a newspost, where people who draw webcomics can tell me (and people in the forums) about them.
I have a few simple rules here, if everyone follows them we will all have a good time lookin' at comics together. They are:
1) Post a link to your webcomic's website. It has to be something where if people click the link they see a comic. This is simple.
2) Write a SHORT description of your comic strip so we have a rough idea of what we are about to click on. By short I mean one paragraph, no longer than a couple hundred words. Please use your best grammar and spelling.
3) If your comic is potentially not safe for people at work to look at, LET US KNOW. I don't want folks gettin' into trouble for anything they may click in here.
4) No posting images directly in this thread. Just links to comics.
5) Only comics' authors and/or artists may post links to their comics. If you don't make a comic, no posting links in this thread. I want authors to display a little initiative here- initiative is a good thing to have!
6) No negative commenting on comics posted here, unless the author specifically requests objective critiques. If I catch people being rude I will deal with them in the strictest possible manner.
I think that is it! Hopefully we will see some AWESOME STUFF here soon. Have fun!

Woohoo, a comic-whoring thread! :D
Well, I already link to it in my signature, but I draw a webcomic called 6Prime. 6Prime is a comic that follows six friends through their lives, such as they spend them together. The thread is based on rather random lines and modest sarcasm, for the most part. However, I believe this comic is most unique in that it is completely drawn in MSPaint. Frankly, I've also been told that it looks like it's drawn in a better program, too.
I welcome any critique, unless it has anything to do with the Coldplay references in the latest strips.
6Prime is rated PG-13.

Yay thanks for taking a look :)
Anyways, my comic would be located at http://www.cerealandpepperspray.com/cartoons.htm (that contains both the latest cartoon and a link to all the old ones).
Cereal and pepper spray is just random comics, hand drawn, scanned to the website. The site also has blog type things, and etc. It's been in operation since march of 2005. The last few entries have come together in that ive started to use specific characters, but the older ones are the same type of humor, with the same lack of artistic talent.
Thanks for reading!!

Aww poo, mine's not a comic. It was inspired by webcomics, though! And it is a regularly updated serial!
Yeah, I'm clutching at straws.
-
Well, if Inlander's doesn't count, mine not count, but I'm going to give it a go anyway.
Agent Aeolus
http://www.agentaeolus.com/
It's not exactly a comic strip, it's a webserial... I'm good with writing, no good with pictures, so I went with that formula. But other than the lack of pictures, it's the same idea, right?
It's a sci-fantasy story that takes place in the modern-day, following the journey of one ex-government agent known as 'Aeolus', who has decided to go rogue in search of... something that could help him. What that something is, you'll have to read to find out. It involves a large and varied cast of characters, from the real to life anti-heroes to the larger-than-life archetypal heroes. It takes strong inspiration from superhero comics such as those published by Marvel and DC, television scripting, and the narrative style of Terry Pratchett.
It's work safe, if you don't mind the occasional hard cussing.

Animals Have Problems Too (http://www.animalshaveproblemstoo.com)
Jeph, I know you've linked me before, and I just wanted to take a second to thank you once again. Your fans are probably some of the coolest people on the internet, so kudos for that! And kudos for being rad in general. I'm not looking for you to mention me again (you've been too cool to me already), I'm just hoping to pick up a few new members of the imaginary audience here and there which requires the occasional thread-whore.
Anyway, Animals Have Problems Too is a pseudo-collaborative one-shot gag strip. People send me ideas for animals to draw or problems that animals might have, and I try to make a smile out of that. I've heard it called explodingdog without so many emo song titles, which I thought was a pretty hilarious description.
The comic got a little saucy during Boner Week, but if you're reading this forum at work it's probably too late to worry about the word "penis."
-
Asthma is Sexy (http://asthmaissexy.sterileart.com/)
Kris and Guy are two average geeks, who are more than a little demented. Asthma is Sexy is an absurdist look at the world in which we live. From a pet GONK droid to supposedly homosexual videogame characters, Asthma is Sexy is part of a well-balanced breakfast.
This comic has been rated R by some people who don't like four letter words.
-
I do a small comic that references obscure ska bands. There's a bit of swearing in it. Anyways, it's 21deadmonkeys (http://www.21deadmonkeys.com)
-
Dish is a really sweet deal, I'll tell ya ^.^
Alrighty then; name of the comic would be Magnetic North (http://www.magnorth.net). Basically, it's the story of 3 kids straight out of high school trying to decide what to do with their lives and escape from the small, back-water-podunk town they've grown up in. Toss in Russian terrorists, kidnapping, a one-hour photo booth, and a totem pole. Updates Sundays-ish; I warn ye though. If'n ye can't take the swearing, stay away o.o
-
ok, I have a webcomic, that's basically why I'm posting here. It's called...
um...well, I don't actually have a name for it. It's crap, but it's professional crap, and the site is www.smileyheavencomic.piczo.com.
Gay smiley faces shall eventually take over the world, so lets all get drunk and party down with a few whores!
Sorry, editing, didn't read all the rules. My comic may be very offending to certain people, seeing as how pretty much every second word is a swear, and their is smiley nudity and sexual references. As well as homosexual referances. Basically crap I thought up well looking at porn.

Welcome to BoyGenius. Please Have a Seat. (http://www.nicklogic.com/boygenius/)
We all know Spider-Man. In his most recent movie foray, he battled the nefarious Doctor Octopus. This "elseworlds" [for lack of a better term] fan comic asks the question "What if Spider-Man and friends were all in school together?". The answer often ends in hilarity, and sometimes predicible happenings.
Recipe--
1/3 Dexter's Lab
1/3 Calvin and Hobbes
1/3 Spider-Man

Now, as excited as I was to see that this thread had been created, I'm afraid that I've only just started my webcomic, and it's kind of lame so far anyway. I only have one thing up at the moment, and I plan on updating weekly at first. Now I'll warn you, The first one's not really that funny, but I'm hoping to start leaning in that direction soon. It's called "Devastating the Obvious", and can be found at http://www.livejournal.com/users/devtheob .
Thanks for giving it a look-see, I hope to have some better stuff up soon.

The Plaza of Truth (http://plazaoftruth.sterileart.com/)
A comic about a rookie supervillain strapped for cash and what he has to put up with from his coworkers in a retail outlet that caters specifically to super heroes.
Feel bad about posting this since I'm in the middle of a hiatus, but figured I might as well anyways (initiative and all that. Maybe give me a push to get updating again, heh).
-
GARR.
I kinda feel bad signing up to the forums just so I can plug. Anywaayy...
http://hopscotch.comicgenesis.com
It's a short story about a guy and a girl. And how they want to forget.
-
Hizzaa for exposure.
Right now I write for a little comic known as Trent the EmoGoth, where my lady friend serves as artist. The comic can be located at lifeispain.keenspace.com.
The comic follows the poor Grad Student Matt as he lives with the basatrd son of the two most self-victimized subcultures- emo kids and goths. The two share many misadventures interpreting one anothers lifestyles, with the occasional appaerance of independent movie talk and promises of absurdity in the future.
-
It would figure I'm in between comics right now. When I get it up and going in a month, may I somehow submit it then? I know this is not likely, since you are already doing us a great service with this charitable linkingz, but I thought I'd ask.
Have a good 'un.
-
So, so far there's me, Jeph, and Inlander - and everyone else in this thread has approximately one post.
-
You're the greatest, sir.
I'm the author and "artist" of Insert Clever Title Here. It's mostly based on my real life experiences as a college student... and bad puns. I consider the antics displayed in the comic as everything college is supposed to be, including Road Trip-induced series over breaks. Other times are spent on other non sequidur events that are inspired by life. I try to post Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but we're all artists here, so we know that doesn't always happen. I hope you enjoy!!

Fixer-Upper (http://www.con-whores.com)
Fixer Upper is about four people who purchase a run down house...which happens to have a secret robot city underneath it. It's hard to explain, so it's easier to just have a look through. It's still fairly new (only 30 comics in the standard continuity) and we've had a few hiccups in the updating, but that's being fixed. There's a bit of language issues, but nothing that you'll get fired over if you view it at work.
-
Wow! Who knew how many people in the world drew comics?
Hmm... well, I also draw one that's read by pretty much 100 people everyday. Which isn't a whole lot. But I do think that it's gotten better and better and better, so that's all that matters to me.
COMIC NAME: 8 1/2 by Eleven
LINKAGE: http://www.lucastds.com/webcomic
SHORT DESCRIPTION: One of my readers wrote the following recently: "It's an earnest story done with drawings, and sometimes a bit experimental, and overall enjoyable. With some intelligence behind it all." About some 20-somethings. Living and figuring stuff out.
RATING: PG-wholesome, like cornflakes.
UPDATES: Weekdays.
-
Sorry 'bout those links. I'm used to a different kind of code. Also, usually Insert Clever Title Here is readable anywhere, but occasionally... well, like I said, it's college ^^

hey! sup folks?
first off, love the comic! one of the best comics i've seen. truely puts mine to shame...
well, my webcomic is still new. i barely have a month 'under my belt' so to speak. the following link will get you to the newest comic:
http://arichard3.photosite.com/nawc/?page=16
Unfortunately due to my current lay-out, that page has no links to the archives or news areas. Sorry, the URL for that area is http://www.notanotherwebcomic.tk
Basically my comic, named "Not Another Web Comic," is a myrad of random things, so far. A few video game related comics, a few 'real life' comics, and a few random filler drawings. Hopefully I'll get it settled down soon, but until then, enjoy my random-ness.
-
well, SUS3AN, your link doesn't work. but you'd know how to make links if you were a member of QC forums for any reason other than plugging yr comic. that goes for everyone. including me!
wait.
i have no comic to plug.
i just like QC.
-
...if you were a member of QC forums for any reason other than plugging yr comic. that goes for everyone.
hey! i represent that remark!
anywho, i've been meaning to join but it seems whenever i'm on QC i only have enough time to read the newest comic then its off to something stupid... however, free advertising... how could i resist!?

Woo comic pimpage!
Anyways, my comic is called Sam and Eli's Adventures (http://sameliadv.comicgenesis.com) (http://sameliadv.comicgenesis.com). It stars two characters: Sam and Eli. Who would have guessed? Now, I have no art skills whatsoever, so I use my Patented Stick Art™ (patent pending). Check my avatar for an example. Most of the strips are totally random and unconnected but I have, in the recent comics, added a completely nonsensical story. It boils down to this: Sam and Eli want to keep bees, forget what they were doing, and go to Jupiter.
At present, the update schedule is a bit chaotic because I got sick and have no buffer, but I'm working on that.
Please forgive the web design not working in IE. I'm working on fixing that. I'm also working on fixing the scripts that do such things as tell you what my handwriting says (because it's hard to read and often completely illegible), which currently work only in IE and Firefox, but can't really be activated in IE. Whoops.
People can feel free to bash my comic all they want. I know the art is pretty (i.e. really, really, really) bad. I try to make up for that with funny content, but it's not up to me to say if I succeed.
[EDIT] I forgot to mention... My comic contains some swearing (maybe seven times total). No nudity, though (as that would be almost impossible with stick figures). Violence? Just a slight bit, but it's crappy stick-figure violence. Do note that the newsblog thing contains quite a bit of swearing, though it comes and goes. [/EDIT]
And if I'm allowed to pimp my second "comic", check out These Translations Suck (http://mybadmanga.blogspot.com) (http://mybadmanga.blogspot.com). Here, I "translate" Japanese comics into English, and by "translate" I mean "make stuff up". I am currently "translating" Negima! and the story, at present, isn't really developed yet. The update schedule for this boils down to "when I have time", which isn't very often at the moment.

24 and a half Water St. (http://www.24andahalf.com) (rated PG-13 at worst)
'24 and a Half Water St.' is the story of an ensemble cast of 20 somethings who live in(or around) 24 1/2 Water St. A coming of age story with aliens(?), an oracle, and an ever growing cast of cliche characters. Updated 2 days a week(starting Oct. 11th) and occasionally animated. Over 100 comics in the archive and plenty more to come!
Take THAT Luke. Now were up to X people :D
(X = the current number of regular forum goers)
edited to stay current!

I just began a comic called Un-Awesome which might be enjoyable. By the way I'm just really exited about a "big" webcartoonist taking such interest in the little guy. Really great! The link is here and in my profile.

The Berkshire Hunt is a blog (http://www.berkshirehunt.blogspot.com) and a webcomic (http://www.berkshirehuntcomic.blogspot.com). The webcomics are posted in a seperate blog every thursday and linked to in the main blog. It's not really necessary to read the blog to get the comics but I like to think that if you enjoy one you'll enjoy the other.
"During the day, they drink, play video games and bitch about womens. At night they drink, swear and chase womens. No one is quite sure when they make time for sleep but they aren’t dead yet so it must happen some time. This is the Berkshire Hunt."
Some swearing.
Also, Jeph, thanks for the opportunity aye. Much appreciated. Your comic is good too :P
-
I write and draw a poorly-handled web-comic about astronomers. It is called konspiratsia (http://www.drunkduck.com/Konspiratsia) and named after a Bond chapter. Admirable idea of yours, if also suicidal.
-
Muffin Time (http://www.muffin-time.com) is a daily (weekdays) strip, that goes the slightly random and philosophical route of humor. Often considered a gag strip, but there is the occassional storyline.
I started this comic to share a simple, yet colorful type of humor, that isn't seen very often in today's comic scene.
Slight swearing in older strips.
-
What Happens Next is the site that my brother and I run. It follows the misadventures of Burk and Locke, two roomates, as they deal with gaming, friends, and work. Deals with a many things geek and otaku. It runs thrice a week with stand alone strips as well as different story arcs. We've been running for over a year and are currently working on a new site with our own domain. Thanks for checkin' it out.
-
As my occasional comments on the snarkoleptics livejournal community will attest, I am a longtime fan of QC. But yeah, I joined this forum because of the chance to get one of my favorite cartoonists to take a gander at my own work.
I do a comic called "The Angriest Rice Cooker in the World" at http://www.angriestricecooker.com. It's one of them repeating-image deals, like Daily Dinosaur or IndieTits, although it owes perhaps more to PartiallyClips (http://www.partiallyclips.com/), among others. It's about a fuzzy-logic rice cooker who attains sentience, though he isn't particularly happy about it. I do my best to be gigglesome.
EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to mention that there can be "strong" language. But unless you're offended by high-contrast line art, you probably won't see anything offensive.
-
Doin' It Up (http://ibroketheinter.net/forum_viewforum.php?12)
I just started a webcomic called Doin' It Up. We're still working on the site and all that jazz, so the comic is set up through the forum section right now.
Basically it's an artistic version of what goes on in my life with as little added as possible. The comic and the site are... I'll say "peppered" with obscenities so be careful if you're the type to be offended by that sort of thing.
-
I'm not sure if this is going to count either, because there's no actual site up. We're working on it. It's called "Stick Kid". And I'm sure the idea's been done a hundred times before. But I'm not going for originality. I just wanted to make people laugh.
You can find Stick Kid, updated daily, on my LiveJournal --> here.
And you can see his new home being built here. So there's that.
Even if nobody really cares... because it looks like there's a ton of people that responded to this... I just hope you get some laughs... and can relate. Thanks for this, Mr. Jeph. I think we all appreciate it.
-
I just joined the forum so that I can respond to this thread, because I am a whore. I'm sorry. I might decide to start posting on this forum every once in awhile now so that I feel less like a horrible person. Hurray! Also, I don't think you quite realize the floodgates you have opened with this thread. I do not envy you for having to wade through the undoubtedly insane amount of responses you're going to have to it.
Anywayyyyyy...
My comic is called Edwitch, and it lives here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/edwitch/
It's the story of a little witch in a big city, trying to learn to get by in a world that she cannot help but feel alienated from. But, um, it's funny! Sort of. I swear! It's very much a comic in its baby phases, and I'm deliberately taking it slowly right now, though the plot is finally starting to reveal itself. I'm currently posting it on livejournal, but I'm starting to consider getting a website for it once I've wrapped up the first story arc (which won't be for awhile at the rate I'm going, but heck, I like to plan ahead!) I tend to update about once a week. I hope you like it!
(Sweet, I probably just came off as sounding really pretentious! That's awesome! I'm awesome!)
EDIT: Oh, and there's a fair amount of fowl language in it, and there will later be a bit of mature subject matter. Just as a warning.
-
I do a small comic that references obscure ska bands. There's a bit of swearing in it. Anyways, it's 21deadmonkeys (http://www.21deadmonkeys.com)
Wow. I am a HUGE fucking fan. Good on you.
-
I write/draw this really awful little monthly comic entitled The Misadventures of Silent Boy.
It focuses on a 17-year old kid named (obviously) Silent Boy, who lives in an awful little place called Gruesome Town. It's mostly situational comedy. It's pretty dark, macabre humor with a touch of silliness.
Warning: Contains coarse language, violence, and gore.
Enjoy.
-
Fuck it then.
My non-comic is called Instant Life Substitute, and can be found at the following cleverly abbreviated U.R.L.:
http://www.inlisub.com
As I said in my earlier post, it was inspired by webcomics - I like to think of it as a kind of bastard child of the webcomic scene. It's an open-ended serial which has been going since January, and by sheer coincidence today's episode will be number 150. It follows the lives of a bunch of 20-somethings living in Melbourne, Australia, and can be summed up by one of the taglines I use on the site: "A little more conversation, a little less action." I guess one of the underlying themes of it is that people usually aren't what they appear to be on the surface. Which makes it sound much more supernatural than it actually is (given that it actually is not even slightly supernatural). There are occasional swearing and sexual and drug references, but nothing particularly excessive or out of the ordinary.
Sorry Jeph, I hope I didn't break any rules!
-
I only started about a month or so ago so it doesn't have much on it yet and I don't update it as often due to the *backwards idea* of the webcomic.
Mine's called Not Really Bored. Its really about being bored and basically features a girl on a couch who changes position in each strip and comes across other characters whilst bumming on this couch. At the moment its a penguin...
So far there isn't any swearing as such and is suitable for little kids. I hope...
-
Hello! My friend Urishimo and I co-write (and I draw) a webcomic called Normality, about a high school in Japan where every student is assigned special powers to save the world -- except a boy named Yukio, who only wishes he could be 'normal'... like all his magic-using, mech-piloting friends.
We're having a short break now that I've started college, but we'll be back with more craziness in a few weeks!
The URL is http://normality.foggleflicks.com
EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to say, thanks so much for this opportunity, Jeph!
-
Pandimaniacs (http://www.pandimaniacs.com/) - Rated PG13ish
An ongoing story about two students looking after a pyromanic demon. My brother writes, I draw and we've been doing that over 2,5 years - we just recently hit 600.
There's an English version and a German one and the strips exist in PNG, SVG and TXT. The archives are keyword-searchable... or any word, for that matter.
Thank you.
-
Woo-hoo! Jeph, this means the world to me -- QC was one of the strips which initially inspired me to start my own, back when I started reading just over a year ago. It's a huge honor to be allowed to plug on your forum.
Updated every Monday, Avatars (http://www.avatarsonline.net) follows the adventures of a novice cleric, Ruroshen, and his ragtag guild of misfits, the Striders, as they explore the magical world of Zoronha, confront evil wherever they find it, and generally run away screaming. An ensemble comedy disguised as mideival fantasy adventure--if you like EverQuest, World of Warcraft, or Guild Wars, you'll love Avatars (http://www.avatarsonline.net)!
There's only about eighteen strips in the archive so far--it's a weekly, after all--but I haven't missed an update yet! I'm proud of what's there so far, and I hope you'll enjoy it. Thanks again for the opportunity!
-
Wow, this list is starting to get long. Thanks for taking the time Jeph.
Isolated Instances of Non-Gravity (http://www.non-gravity.com/)
I started in July and I update every Monday. Right now it's a diary comic, just me and my chinchilla and our day to day. But I have a stockpile of stories I'm going to start adapting soon.
Critiques are welcome. Thanks again Jeph, the majority of my traffic comes from your message board as it is (with Truth & Beauty Bombs making up the rest).
:)
-
Hooray for random plugs! Thanks Jeph!
Okay. Okay. Here's the deal. I run this little rag online at http://www.tastyhumanmeat.net , which features DAILY COMICS (well, besides the weekends - that would be CRAZY). I'm a contestant in the Daily Grind Ironman Challenge (http://www.crowncommission.com/dailygrind) and don't plan to lose anytime soon, which is a near GUARANTEE that there will be content, IN SOME FORM OR ANOTHER, posted on my website every Monday through Friday.
Let's see. There's a few different comics going on, but the main one I am working on right now is one of fishy apocalypse: how the world would run if it was flooded and everyone was turned into marine life. That's about it. I really just do it because I like drawing crabs and pufferfish.
Anywho, its totally lame but some people tell me they like it, so you should check it out!
TK Longmire
http://www.tastyhumanmeat.net
EDIT: I reread this, and I totally implied I only did comics on weekends in one sentence. Oops.
-
I've started a project I call '24-a-day' (http://aciddimensions.com/view/index2.php?url=comics/24-a-day/index.php?). Essentially inspired by Ryan Armand's 168-hour comic, I planned average 24 pages every day until next summer. I'm ridiculously behind atm, largely thanks to a month-long depression thing. But I'm gonna go all-out now and catch up.
The comics vary tremendously. Tuesday is coffee-stained post-it note day. Friday is becoming full-colour day. Sundays self-referential day. Some comics are silly. Some are meant to be profound.
I only spend about 4-6 hours on most of the comics and am gonna reduce that time. But I like to think some are enjoyable to read.
Oh, and any negative criticism would be enjoyed by me.
-
This is experimental in the sense that I can't really draw nor am funny, but decided to give it a shot anyhow. Bad idea? You all can be the judge. It's about guys who go to school and like music and there will someday be a lot more characters introduced. Archives are 3 episodes old, so you can hit them all pretty easily. It's been left alone for a long time because my music is #1.
Everything In Moderation
Does anyone get the jokes? Critique away!
Thanks
-Luke
PS Comic Sans was used out of neccessity... I have like 5 fonts. Apologies.

On the Rocks (http://ontherockscomics.com)
This comic is about a loveable Polar Bear, Wally, that winds up in Antarctica where he pals up with an odd little penguin, Osbourne. At which point hilarity ensues, everything from dark humor to physical comedy. It's a multipanel strip in newspaper format. It varies from single gag strips to short storylines or themes over the course of several comics. It appears in full color (well, several shades of blue and orange) Monday through Friday.
If you start HERE (http://ontherockscomics.com/index.php?date=2005-06-27) at the beginning and read about a weeks worth you should get a pretty good idea.
------------------
My referrrer tracking said I got a visitor from this page a little bit ago, so I came here to see what it was. Obviously there wasn't a link to my comic here, so I guess it must have been some little elf showing me the way. Kind of funny. So there's a link now. Thanks for inviting all to share their comics. =)

NAME REMOVED (http://nameremoved.com)
(that is the actual name of it)
It is about the adventures of some monsters who get into arguments, who say and do ridiculous things, who receive frequent physical traumas for laffs, who are adorable and strange. Updates on Tuesday and Friday and is in colour. Rare cussing, occasional gore.
I totally just registered to post this. I'm scared of forums, yet full of love.
Oh! Yeah: feel free to tell me what you think of it, my email address is on the site if you want to do it that way.
-
I do a comic called The Other Goths (http://tog.hoodoo.co.nz/pages/recent.html). In the interests of saving time, this link goes straight to the comic. There's a blog page in front of it...
It's a gag comic about a goth and a punk, based on myself and an old flatmate, with a mix of random stuff that just comes out of my head. There's updates every monday.
Soon there'll be a new comic on the site, a more story based thing, but that'll come later on once I've got more written.
-
Hey, name's Nicolas W. Shogun. I've frequented QC for ages, but have never been much of a forum-goer.
My comic's called Jan-Ken-Po.
http://www.livejournal.com/users/jankenpo/
The comic centers around Addison, last human in the solar system, and her crew of alien sweepers, who retrieve wanted men from other planets. She is currently scouring the galaxy for any information on the whereabouts of Earth, which disappeared from this dimension forty years ago, along with every human on it.
The cast contains a rich flavor of languages, appendeges, etc. There are some four-letter words that your grandma may find unsettling.

A comic whoring thread? Too good to be true!
My name is Kev. I draw a webcomic with my two best friends, Ryan (tech-guy, website designer) and Dean (Writer). It's called Accidental Obscurity (http://www.accidentalobscurity.com). We appear as ourselves in the comic, but there is really no storyline. The comic is essentially just totally random, sometimes not even trying to be funny.
There are gaming jokes, music jokes, random/obscure jokes, interesting historical tidbits and - most recently - a little 'English Major' humour.
I'm quite proud of it... I haven't come across anything else quite like it on the net.
Anyway, I hope you like it Jeph! If you do, drop any of us a line, or post in our forums, or somesuch!
Thanks for your time.

http://www.gregcrescicomics.com
Greg Cresci Comics is my semi autobiagraphical comic that takles the issues on video games, sex, cynicism, racism, and violence. It uses MS-Paint animation cells and usually is only 3 pannels. There is little to no continuity so if your looking to check it quick the random button is the way to go. I recomend 600-800 those are my best.
Edit: yeah some of them (around 80 out of the total) are pretty offensive so I wouldnt read in work. Some of the humor may not be "tolerated" be some, but it's nothing worse than shows like South park and the like.

Phantast Staffing Services (http://www.phantaststaffing.com)
Fictional Jobs For Fantasy People
Follow the employees of temp agency that supplies henchmen, heroes, and data entry specialists to the universe. Rated PG-13.
Think Doonesbury or Bloom County in terms of content. 150 strips or so in the archives. Actively looking for an artist interested in a partnership to take over the drawing end of things.
Well, this thread should keep Jeph out of trouble for a while. Just remember man, you asked for us. :)

1/3 Spider-Man
The Spidey comic was ok, a little cutesy, but I'm really digging this Murphy's Law comic that was linked at the top of the page from the "boy genius" one.
-
Well damn if this isn't just slightly intimidating.
Sockyspace (http://www.sockyspace.com) is based around the lives of Socky and Gaffa, 2 flat mates who work in a video store. I originally started with comics that don't follow on from eachother but then I started a story arc about Gaffa dating a girl that Socky once broke up with on the basis that she's "bat shit crazy loon." After this arc I'll probably go back to one offs. I'm always changing the artwork trying to get a more set style, as you can see, the characters sort of change shape in every comic, I'm working on that. I do have a habit of not updating on time, I'm working on that too.
....I feel so dirty.
-
Oh sure, you SAY you feel dirty, but I note it takes a self-whoring thread to bring you back to these fair shores! People having been MISSING you, man.
-
People actually noticed me? blimey. I've posted a couple of times this week...just nothing worth while...mind you, when did I ever post anything worth while. Well there was the cardboard tube battle with Sideways, but that goes down in legend.
-
There was also the Ghostbusters pic, don't forget.
Anyway: see how much we wuv you! (http://forums.questionablecontent.net/viewtopic.php?p=231481)

Feral Chicken: http://komejo.com
Feral Chicken is a 'lost in the wild' tale of a chicken, Sam. I try to make most of the animals act in a reasonably correct way, except when they step out of the main storyline. I've been posting three times a week for just over a year.
I've been writing (http://komejo.com/writing/) for many years and this is my first attempt at cartooning. There's a pretty radical curve in the art over that last year as a result, though I find that interesting as well. :-)
Regards,
Joe K

Hi. Nick here, long-time listener, first-time caller.
I do a comic called I Always Wake Up Lazy (http://www.alwayslazy.com). It's one of those rare ones about housemates who sit on the couch with the occasional imporobable hijink, and talking inanimate objects. There's also a lot of sarcasm. And Richard Dean Anderson. And Chuck Norris. And that's it.
I also do a journal/blog comic called Braindead and Useless (http://www.alwayslazy.com/braindead/index.html)
Wait, am I allowed two?
Anyway, that's it. Jeph, you're a dude for doing this.
-
Whoa do I feel out of place in this crowd, but here goes:
NGB (Nice Guy But)
An autobiographical webcomic that just doesn't think about you that way.
http://www.dingosatemybaby.com
Bad art and hopefully better humor. It's conversational, thus far only involves the two main characters and breaks webcomic conventions out of equal parts intent and ignorance. I've been a fan of webcomics for years now and this is the beginning of my first attempt to put my money where my mouth is.
Mmmmm, tastes like nickles...

Neato! Hey, well here's my submission - Computer Blues: http://www.simianportal.com/computerblues.html (http://www.simianportal.com/computerblues.html).
Computer Blues is a comic I started as a reaction to all the stress, frustration, and general spite for computers that I developed while getting my BSc in Comp Sci. The story...well, there isn't really much story, it's just a bunch of crazy computing science characters, their antics, and their socially questionable behaviour. There's the occasional reference to pop culture, geekdom, politics and whatever else I can pull a joke, kicking and screaming, out of. I pretty much just make it up as I go along.
And hey, thanks for the chance to show off my comic. That's totally cool.

Sacred Pie has been around for a few years on certain corners of the Net ... and best summed up by the artist/writer:
"Sacred Pie is the science fiction tale of three ordinary guys on whom the fate of the entire galaxy depends. Roonas, Sid, and Bob suddenly find themselves in possession of the most powerful weapons in creation and are thrust centuries into the future. Now, they must endure space pirates, alien overlords, galactic empires, bounty hunters, and hordes of Demons-even Lucifer himself- otherwise, all of existence will cease.
Sacred Pie has been online at www.sacredpie.com since March 11, 2000, and boasts nearly 1,000 full comic pages (including 17 fully animated pages in Chapter 12: War). Sacred Pie updates 3-5 pages every Sunday without fail(along with, but never replacing pages for, sketches, alien indexes, maps, and other interactive features). Sacred Pie is the life's work of Phil "Bob" Shaw (writing/drawing) and Tom "Roonas" Civill (writing/editing)."
I happen to be that particular Roonas ... and will guide you to our first page, and a recent example of what we're up to art and plot-wise now.
http://www.sacredpie.com/sacred1.html <--- First page of our prologue,
http://www.sacredpie.com/discourse32.html <--- a recent page in the latest chapter.
As you can see from the difference between the first page, and the subsequent work, the art-work has grown considerably in 5 years.
We have an outlined story, and defined it into 3 particular books. Book 2 is almost done ... probably within the next year or so it should be complete, and then it's on to Book 3.
Hope you enjoy the story, and any critiques are welcome ... (we've faced some harsh criticism before and are still standing) ...
-Roon
P.S. Thanks to Malk (dunno his SN on this board) for pimping this to us here @ Sacred Pie HQ's.

The Amazing Adventures of Bill
It's a journal comic - all true stories about life in New York City, updated about three times a week. It mostly involves poverty, drinking, and failed attempts at romance. It's an exciting life.
The only thing that's NSFW is buried about 100 comics back in the archives, during the scandalous "Hawaiian Hook-up" story-arc. Casual viewers should be fine.
Thanks, Jeph! Hope you like it!
-
Damn you Jeph you've managed to drag me out of lurkage ;)
Well hey all, long time reader, admirer and hardcore lurker!
So here is Tea For Three (http://www.teaforthree.co.uk) - it's not about music, or gruesome in any way - it's pretty fluffy and universally friendly. It is only a baby site, 10 issues old today!

Harmless Free Radicals
http://www.harmlessfreeradicals.com/
I go by the name Fenmere, the Worm, even in the newspaper.
My comic is sort of a cross between a parody about life in a small college town near the border of the U.S. and Caneda and a tale of the battle between imagination and reality. The lead characters are a band that formed one day when someone won "the band name game." They have a comic, their own icecream, a whole line of merchandice, a strange and rabid fandom, and even a roadie, but no music yet.
A gag a week version is currently published in the Whatcom Independent, (http://whatcomindy.com) and those pages are displayed on Fridays. I'm attempting to go daily with the rest of the comic, but have been seriously struggling with fitting it into my personal schedule. It's been going for five years, so I've also divided the archives into books, to make it easier to navigate.
Anyway, you might want to just read Don't Touch That! (http://www.harmlessfreeradicals.com/dtt.php?strip_id=0) and Cell Phones & Cigarettes (http://www.harmlessfreeradicals.com/cnc.php?strip_id=0) if you're short on time or attention span. They're my most recent work on the story, and should do an OK job on introducing you to it. Glance at the very beginning of the comic, though, to see some... interresting.. artwork.
And thank you so much for the opportunity to share our works!
-
well, SUS3AN, your link doesn't work. but you'd know how to make links if you were a member of QC forums for any reason other than plugging yr comic. that goes for everyone. including me!
I'll admit, this topic was what inspired me to register for the forum, but I have been catching up on the other topics. There are a lot of them, though, so it'll take me some time. The reason my links didn't work the first time through was because I'm used to the -chevron- a ref = "http://icth.moravec.net/" -chevron- Insert Clever Title Here -chevron- /a -chevron- format. It's habit by now. I'm sorry I'm an inadequate human being because I code differently.
On a completely unrelated note, I can vouche for "6Prime" and "On the Rocks". I've been reading the latter for a while, but the former kept me up until about 1:30 this morning reading it, and I'm going to keep with it. As for the rest of the comics posted in here, I'll give those a chance too, but as for now, I have to go to work. I'll try to be a better person in the future.
-
I'm trying to imagine Jephs reaction to this thread. So far I've got him slapping himself on the forehead, and possibly saying "Oy vey, what have I done?" Then kicking a rabbit or something, we all know Jeph loves to kick rabbits.
-
Willrad (http://www.willrad.com) is my webcomic.
Willrad is mostly a gag-a-week with geeky stuff (like comic book conventions and robots) and relationships thrown in.
We don't usually do continuity, though we have continuous characters, but sometimes it happens anyway. Willrad varies in styles, sometimes I scan drawings, sometimes I do the whole darn thing in Illustrator. My man and I write it, and I draw it. Umm, hilarity ensues?

Shades of Grey (http://shadesofgrey.rydia.net/) is a drama-based comic with adventure, romance, and fantasy elements.
Following the afterlife of a naive young woman named Grace, Shades of Grey takes place a land seemingly divided between black and white. Yet power can come from unlikely sources and good and evil are often found in unexpected places. As Grace struggles through the unknown dangers of her new world, she discovers an even more perilous arena: The hidden depths of her own soul.
Large archive, story-based, updated once every week with two to four pages. Rated PG-13 to R for violence.
Thus ends my shameless plug, and with it my lurker-dom. Ack! I have now posted, and am thus exposed. Eep!

Dang, everyone's eyes will be worn out by the time you get this far into the thread. Grab some visine and jump in:
no frailty (http://www.nofrailty.com) - it's about life, love, family, and evil. Currently a couple of government agents, one from the Bureau of Evil Elimination (BEE) and the other from an even more secret group are on the trail of Lamashtu, the original vampire, the Daughter of Heaven herownself. But their personal relationship seems to be much of their focus so far.
I'll be happy to receive all comments including constructive criticism. As long as you're nice (as the rules state).
now to dig into the stuff in this list.
-
Ritalinboy and Jake (http://www.ritalinboyandjake.com)
A comic about rude, useless punkrockers. A chronic ADD-er and an olympic stoner, living with their feminist goldfish and the kid with amnesia that just moved in with them.
Does contain some strong language from time to time, so don't let your mom see you're reading this.
-
This (http://spaces.msn.com/members/skylore) is my "comic". You'd think the fact that there were no pictures would require there to be an exeptional standard of writing, but you'd be wrong. Due to the nature of the site it's hosted on I couldn't link straight to the archive, but it's only one click away from the homepage. I even left instructions, because that's the kind of guy I am this week.
The comic itself is about 2 guys who write and draw a webcomic (stop me if you've heard it), and I've recently introduced a couple of female characters just so something can actually happen. I've been working on it for a few months but I don't get to update very often, so it shouldn't take you more than a couple of minutes to get through.
One more thing. The archiving system puts the newest entries at the top, so you have to start reading from the bottom for it to make sense. I'm sorry. It's probably not even worth the effort. Feel free to leave comments, criticisms and praise as your opinion may warrant.
Thanks guys!
-
hey guys.
My name is Joanis and I make Rockstar Weekend, an indie rock comic about just-post-college life. Beer, indie rock, pop-culture, the hazards of dating, etc. It's pretty rooted in the newspaper comics aesthetic, and the precurser (On Campus) ran in the college newspaper (2000-2004) with some of the other comics on the site. New comics five days a week, so you can follow Erik, David, Lily, and co. Rock.
It runs over at Big Cheese Press with some other awesome comics and columns. So.. go check it out.

http://www.collectedcurios.com/sequentialart.html
OK, first off, this isn't my strip, but the work of a far more talented artist: Philip Jackson, who also posts on http://www.b3ta.com as JollyJack. There are three characters sharing a house:
Art, an artist who suffers the same artistic and other frustrations we're all familiar with.
Kat, a perky female half-cat, who aids, abets and occasionally defuses said frustrations.
Pip, a nerdy penguin who acts as the third point of the triangle.
Their interaction is funny, plausible, extremely absorbing and well-drawn by Jackson, of whom I am in awe.
B3ta is one of the most consistently funny sites you'll ever visit; it has a board membership of around 40,000, and a distinct life and personality of its' own- pull up a kitten, you'll never leave...
-
well, I might as well chime in.
Be warned, I like to make jokes, and write. I'm new to this whole comic thing, but I learn a bit more every day. I only have a few (less than 10, don't recall exact number) comics posted so far, and my only audience is close friends and my ever-loyal bride.
I cannot draw, at all. This is not an attempt to garner compliments to boost my self esteem. if somehow you think the artwork is good, you should commit yourself. I work my comic alone until I someday happen to find an artist who likes my humour and would work with me.
Try to endure the art, and hopefully enjoy the humour.

'Seinfeld meets Rage Against the Machine'
For all you news junkie bush hating blue staters...
I do a daily political webcomic called Death of the Party.
www.deathoftheparty.com
I'm currently in the process of assembling my next submission to the comic syndicates so I'm doing a black and white style, but normally I'm in full, glorious color.
Hope you enjoy it,

I'm trying to imagine Jephs reaction to this thread. So far I've got him slapping himself on the forehead, and possibly saying "Oy vey, what have I done?" Then kicking a rabbit or something, we all know Jeph loves to kick rabbits.
I see your "kicking a rabbit" and raise you a "stomping on modem/box of internets"
Wow, there's some really great stuff in this thread! Pandimaniacs caught my attention first off but there's plenty more in here... this has become my new official procrastination thread!

How about kicking a rabbit into his modem/box of internets?

I can vouche for "6Prime" and "On the Rocks". I've been reading the latter for a while, but the former kept me up until about 1:30 this morning reading it, and I'm going to keep with it.
Whoo! Sorry to keep you into the night. :-)
I have to go read some webcomics now...

Like most I just joined to try and get Jeph to at least look at my comic.
*Bow's before all mighty QC creator* I offer, you Stars on the Ceiling. You can find it at reggieatfefan.tripod.com (http://reggieatfefan.tripod.com).
It's basically a comic journal. Everyday I give people a glimpse inside my head. This comic is me, every form of me. From the real life funny things that I encounter or think about to my thoughts about my life. It's 100% true and 98% accurate. Sometimes it'll be funny, other times a little bit more serious. Luckly, most of the time it'll be on purpose. You'll be confused, you'll be sadden, but mostly you'll just laugh out loud.
Also on the site is my music comic strip, As of Yet Untitled.
I encourage everyone and Jeph to check out and give me feedback. Be honest. I can take it.
Thank you.
-
There are a lot of people who joined the forums to post their comic. Self-whoring? Plugging? I don't know... I for one don't have anything to 'plug' really, as I'm not actively searching for readers, nor actively updating my comic. But if a fantastic comic artist offers to look at it and possibly give feedback, then I'm going to jump on that chance. I'd just like to know if what I'm doing for fun is going to matter to other people; if it's even worth doing. Not so much 'plugging' as 'please verify my existence.'
I'm sorry all the board veterans are upset because their beloved forum is now subject to newcomers. "I liked the QC board better before it sold out..."
Sorry if that's mean.
I looked at all the comics on pages 1. Here's some comics I loved (if anyone cares):
Isolated Instances of Non-Gravity: Great/unique art, easy to relate to.
Muffin Time: To the point, very nice to look at. Fast loading.
Name Removed: I laughed out loud. Nuff said.
24.5 Water Street: Good lord, a flash site that's practical and fast loading! Funny to boot. Super detailed/clean art. I don't see many comics I can zoom in on.
On The Rocks, The Other Goths, also funny/well-done.
These 6 comics have all found another regular reader. I haven't even got to the second page yet.
-Luke

Whoa...dude... who's ticked we've got new blood in here? Any comments I've read concerning all the <10 post people I read as "Whoa, lots of new people! This thread ASPLODE!!!!" Don't hop on the defense train until you're sure "all the board veterens are upset".
Glad you liked my comic though :D

http://www.betterthenyou.com
Erm... I spent way to much on these little plastic marvel superhero toys..., I was bored one day, and I made a comic and posted it on myspace. I had about thirty readers and they all encouraged me to make a website. The comic is called Better Than You, but in the QC post-ironic fashion, you get the URL. The comic is about whatever I feel like and it consists of web cam photos and insanely... mediocre Photoshop effects.
There's some language, but nothing that wouldn't be work safe.
-
How about kicking a rabbit into his modem/box of internets?
Shit man, that'd be dangerous! Have you ever owned a rabbit? They are by far the most vicious hate-filled creatures I have ever encountered. That modem/box of internets wouldn't stand a chance!
Personally, if I were Jeph, I'd settle for huddling in a corner, rocking back and forth, shaking uncontrollably.
(Also, I'm really enjoying that "8 1/2 by Eleven" comic! Kudos to "tedzee" for being all-around awesome!)
-
Jephs too manly for that, he'd go on a rabbit kicking rampage, no rabbit in the state is safe. And he'd yell "OWNED IN THE FACE" after each whack of a wabbit.
I'm gonna stop replying in this thread now, stopping the spam.
-
Keeps bumping the thread so that we who posted links get noticed. I feel like I'm in a giant hole with a bunch of people. Its like a mosh pit but the band playing is Cake... so it sucks.... more than... er... being in a hole full of people without Cake.

Do you think being trapped in a hole full of people while listening to Cake would make you less or more inclined to hurt people than if you were trapped in a whole full of people while not listening to Cake?

Plugtime!
I write/draw a little webcomic called Nosve Release. It is a hand-drawn comic (usually black and white, sometimes with color Photoshopped in) about a bunch of college students at the Claremont Colleges, a bunch of schools in southern California. (Incidentally, that's where I go to school...quel surprise!)
The comic updates three times a week, except in cases where I get run over by a cement truck's worth of homework. Been writing it for a little over a month now, and I'm still not alienated/dead, so I'm taking that as a good sign.
-
I'm going to join the throngs of 'posts:1' people and put a little thing up about my itsy bitsy comic
The first thing you should know is it is on livejournal and is FRIENDS ONLY, apart from 1 comic, so you need to add it to your friends list to see it. Sorry. I just didn't want lots of random people putting stupid comments on it and trying to get first comment....it annoys me when I see it elsewhere.
Anyway, it's called MiniMCR (My Chemical Romance) and was born from the oddness of my fangirl friends. Basically, it's the band as Minis (like manga chibis, only, er, wider, I think. And with sillier expressions.). The humour probably works best if you know about them/have a fangirl friend who tells you everything she sees about them. Most of the comics are your rubbishy pencil on paper scanned in, since I started them in my own journal as a laugh, but the most recent one (and a half that I'm still doing) is coloured on the computer.
It has some mild bad language, but nothing too harsh.
It updates when I get an idea. Sorry.
And for those people who skipped the blah and want a link, its: http://www.livejournal.com/users/minimcr/

I think that everyone would scream will rolling about in a fetal position. I'm sure some people would suffocate, but that's the worst. If enough people pass out/suffocate you can pile them up and then escape! dammit, I found a use for Cake besides ending parties.

I totally registered for this =|
Anyway!
Linkie --> http://www.drunkduck.com/Caves_And_Critters (if you get a "cannot be found", then my host is temporarily dead =p Try it again later, it is the right URL)
Caves And Critters is an epic fantasy/comedy/drama/action/romance Graphic Novel (focused on a central plot more than just spontaneous giggly strips), following (mainly) the adventures of Therandeman Elfine (aka Theran) as he seeks to make a name for himself with his various friends and allies.
Oh, and he's possessed by a demon seeking the absolute destruction of eveything around it.
And there's this other guy, Jax? Yeah, he's possessed too. Twice, no less.
Laughs, gasps, plot twists twistier than a Twister and giggles galore ensue 8D
Some occasional gooey bloody stuff and bad language. So keep teh kiddiez away. No nudity though, past the occasional shirtless guy =p
-
Hate Song (http://www.hatesong.com).
It's a comic about a 30 year old skid named Orest who lives at home with his father and his father's 13 year old mail order bride. There's a slew of other characters that make the strip interesting as well. I think it's pretty work safe, unless you count swearing and such to not be work safe.
The strip is more metal than shit. For real.
-
Cold Feet In Bed (http://www.newbsoft.com/coldfeet/comics.php)
A graphic representation of my sham life. Includes:
Drunk checklist
Contraception shopping
Drug hunting rats
Chucking a sickie
Updated weekly(ish)
Inspired by QC but no indie references.
Probably not safe for work
-
Random Whiskey Stew (http://www.caldel.com/index.php?mod=comic) is the comic I write for. My name is Andrew Prenger. My Buddy Kevin McKenzie does the art for it.
Basically it is just a weird little comic about three guys who live in a college town that also has giant ants, zombies and the like. Drew is the anti-social drunk, Baines is the hyper sensitive guy who can get a girlfriend and Kevin is an in-between guy who keeps the peace. They have little adventures or just sit around talking about comic books.
The comic is the main feature of the site, but it is not on the main page. There are also random articles about video games and comic books and also longer prose that I've done for the comic to give background to the characters since it is a weekly comic and I don't have the time to tell them without taking a year.
Relatively safe for work. There is no swearing (yet), but there is violence.
Questionable Content rocks!
-
Stuff I like so far (by no means complete or exhaustive, I'm just pulling these off the top of my head):
Cold Feet In Bed
Edwitch
Twentyfour and a half water street
Animals Have Problems Too (I cannot stop laughing! Damn you!)
-
ok, so i don't personally draw it or really do anything for it except support it, but two guys i'm close have put together a pretty nifty little comic for the past year or so.

My friend commanded me to post here so:
1) www.toastcomics.com
2) A slightly toasted piece or bread and his pet pear encounter everyday situations. This is funny because toast is slightly stupid and over-joyed by these stupid situations.
3)Only bad thing is a "fuck" here and there.

I write and illustrate a comic called Paradise Syndrome and it resides at http://www.strawpixel.com/index.php?cat=9
It's basically about two geeks who watch TV and make fun of... stuff. Or more accurately it involves one geek being mean to the other. The mean geek is based on me. I'm nothing if not self-aware.
Enjoy.
-
Hey Mike (http://heymike.spiderspawn.com) is a webcomic I started inspired by reading too many newspaper comics and discovering webcomics in the same week.
It's a gag strip telling the stories of Mike and his friends. It's stories may be somewhat weird, but it is still a young story and it may (or should I say WILL) get weirder in time.
Thanks for the chance for the plug, don't forget to leave comments if you visit.[/u]

I've been writing and drawing My So Called Knife (http://radewagon.comicgenesis.com/) for a little over a year now.
I don't really know how to describe it. Many have said that it lacks direction, and it probably does most of the time. But I like to think of it as just a funny comic that isn't about video games. Also, it's going through a radical change right now, so, i unno. Read, and I hope you enjoy.
-
I don't feel *too* bad about posting here, as my post count is at least over 1...
Anyway, the comic I co-create is The Mediocres, a semi-autobiographical comic with all the names changed--I like making up names. It's generally mildly realistic with frequent flights of fancy. It's almost two months old, and only updates twice a week, so the archives aren't very deep yet...
Nine out of ten Shaolin Masters find this comic worthy!
(perhaps not as worthy as QC. But we're trying!)

Incorrect! That sort of code works fine on this forum. See? It didn't work because you typed this:
<a ref="http://icth.moravec.net/">Insert Clever Title Here</a>
But you should have typed this:
<a href="http://icth.moravec.net/">Insert Clever Title Here</a>
That is to say, it's href, not ref. This applies everywhere.

This is my comic: The Wrong Band (http://thewrongband.keenspace.com)
It's the story of a band in Seattle and the people in it. The jokes are just as often about something completely random as they are about music. That's the basics of it, although it's slowly becoming more of a character piece than a gag comic.

Damn, my "hello people from QC" news post probably wouldn't have been up... I should have thought of that and help off.
-
Technically this is more of a blog-with-comics than a webcomic, but there are a few comics, and art at the end of blogs and i intend to start a full-on webcomic as soon as i have some inspiration. and i've been told that the blog is quite funny. by my mom.
http://spaces.msn.com/members/tothamax/
The title of the blog is Nothing But Evan, so i guess that is also the title of the comic. Basicly the comics accompany my blogs and are wild exaggerations of events from my life.
I dont think i swear much at all.
Basicly, i think it'd be cool if I could say that Jeph Jacques visited my site.

A comic that I have created is called Eli and the link is http://elicomics.tripod.com
Unfortunatly I just started this comic a little under a month ago so I only have three comics up so far but I update the comic every Sunday so just check out the archive for the past three updates and enjoy them from there.
Thank you,
Jordan from Eli

Well...Feeling extremely guilty about signing up to the forums just to post this, but screw it. Judge all you want, I've been a QC fan since there were just 30 comics up.
Anyways, my comic is called Gothic Gretal - Life Minus Legal Repercussions. She has a quite a few strips that have been drawn and featured in my 'zine, but probably about 7 are up on the net currently. So there are lots more to come when I get off my lazy ass.
LINKAGE - http://www.livejournal.com/users/gothicgretal/
Blurb - Gothic Gretal is a somewhat violent little girl who dislikes bimbos and has a boyfriend called Gothic Greg who likes bimbo's as long as they're dead. Other characters include a polar bear who is convinced he's black and the bimbo's themselves.
Probably not for work reading, as it has references to necrophilia and some swearing.

Hey all,
I write and illustrate The Amazing Big Top Traveling Carnival, a long form story about said carnival and the dastardly going-ons currently plaguing the carnies. 32 pages are online; I update with one new page per week. So far outside help has been enlisted to assist in finding out why the Two-headed Wonder is down one head, why the Lobster Man is missing his claws, and where in the world Gregor the Little Man got off to.

Tact and Civility
So I do the backgrounds and the text bubbles for T and C and my friend writes, draws and colours the comic . I love this comic and I think it has some great potential, but I'm a little biast. Here's the basic description:
"Two guys, the ruler of the underworld, an evil sock puppet, and a manchild. All livin together under one roof......Except for the last two. They're next door. It's Tact, it's Civility. It's....just combine those two words."
BTW some of the jokes might not be to great for a work enviroment or may offend but my mom thinks it's funny.

Malakhim (http://www.malakh.com)
May be unsafe to look at during work hours - some scenes have graphic violence.
Malakhim follows the life of a murdered child, Ben, who has become the unlikely companion of the angel Nathan. Ben finds himself a pawn manipulated in an ancient war between the angels that has torn the heavens and earth for thousands of years, and has only now begun to change into something unspeakably savage, breaking age-old rules and unprecedentedly pulling humanity into the violence.
For Ben, the world he knows now is starkly, incomprehensibly different to the one he knew before he was killed. It is also one where he has lost everything he loves and knows, and finds himself unable to rely on anything, except perhaps faith - and faith may be all he has.
We zombies run Malakh Studios, which produces the comic - the artist/writer/creator is Aleph, and I just do PR stuf, like this ;) Thanks for taking a look at it :)
Cheers!

I actually run an entire website, http://www.yournameisinvalid.org/morscata12/ which has a lot of cartoons and games on it. (I make/update all of them)..
Rav and Nash is a twice-weekly updating cartoon http://www.yournameisinvalid.org/morscata12/Cartoons/ravAndNash/
about two friends, bonded by an appreciation for electronica music but not much else. It's an interesting storyline, which will eventually dirverge into time-travelling and such.
http://www.yournameisinvalid.org/morscata12/Cartoons/mysterycrew is a collection of pixel-drawn cartoon adventures about a bunch of teenage "detectives" (I assume they're teenage..they don't act very mature) "solving crimes." Most of their adventures end up being rather silly and ironic.
-
Hello. You might not remember me, Jeph, I wrote you a couple of years ago and said your comic had been a great inspiration for me to make my own. A few failed attempts later, here we are.
http://odaw.comicgenesis.com isn't far gone yet, but it's coming along okay. It's a superhero comic, exploring the important question. You know - the interesting thing about Superman isn't that he can break a mountain with his bare hands, it's how it makes him feel. Well, so far it's just about this girl livin' it up in the New York city night as only a post-human can. Oh, and it's not safe for work.
-
On the Rocks (http://ontherockscomics.com)

Yeah, that was me Tyler :P
I posted, then re-read the OP, and saw the part where you need to be the artist, so removed the linkage :)

Captain Obvious (http://users.telenet.be/kristoF-)
Somewhat absurd comic about a Captain, his wife and his enemies. I aimed for the "this is so bloody not funny it is almost funny" effect.
I realise my first post here is one pimping my comic (tho the comic is pure fun for me) but that's ok considering QC created this thread for that goal, right? Anyway, I do read qc on a daily basis.
I particulary liked the Hopscotch comic which was advertised in this thread as far as drawings are concerned, absolutely brilliant imo, but QC 4 teh win :)
Thanx for any replies, u may post negative critique on my project. I realise it doesn't really meet up with standards; and I won't fall down and cry if you don't like it. All I ask is, read all 6 (sic :) ) episodes, because I don't like the first one myself anymore :)
-
God this looks bad being a first post. A self promotiobot scumbag. And I don't even have the ultralame "long time reader" spiel. The shame!
Anyways, Protractorbeam (http://conditionals.net/comics/) is my geometry themed webcomic. There are only 12... and there was no "golden age", they were all terrible.

Creative Block Comics (http://www.creativeblockcomics.co.uk/)
This is mine and a mate's new website, just launched today on a twice weekly schedule (i'm co-writer and webmonkey). Briefly just describing the life of chubbah (the artist) and his friends. it's black and white, with a few colour strips now and again
This site is as safe for work as can be.

http://mycrappycomic.lunarcry.com
Uh... yeah. Hi. I'm Lloyd Jones. I have a comic called My Crappy Comic just because I couldn't think of a name for it. It's about 5 college students, I normally just take whatever's going on with me or whatever's on my mind and make them act it out in a comic strip every Sunday. So it's sort of autobiographical. The characters do mostly have their own lives though and there are storylines.
That's the jist of it, really. Hope you like it, or at least don't hate it.

http://mindmistress.comicgenesis.com---old fashioned Silver Age comic book super hero stuff, with a strong accent on a sense of wonder, and an absolutely unique secret ID (for comics, anyway)---a modern Athena, as Flash is a modern Mercury, Superman a modern Hercules, and Sub-MAriner a modern Neptune.

My comic sucked, so here's a better one by a friend of mine. It's garbage, but its certified and Professional Garbage.
-
Hi!
My name is Laura Beth, and I make Everyone Drunk But Me. It's an autobiographical comic, and lately it has been about my year abroad in Russia. Pretty soon I'll start grad school. Then it'll be about that.
It runs five days a week at Big Cheese Press, with some other cool comics and stuff.
-
Hi, I'm Kat! A friend of Lu who's on the forums. This is my first post and i'm not up to date with QC if i'm going to be honest, my webcomic reading habits have taken a turn for the worse due to things like uni and work coming into play. So yes, i draw a webcomic with my co-creator Dave called Two Sides Wide.
http://www.twosideswide.com
It's daily, full colour and about the lives of well, us, and our abortive comic making ideas. Kat, Dave, Treh, Lu, Ben, Puppy and Doug appear in short storylines and 3 panel gag strips. Over 500 strips and counting! Come tell us what you think!

LBB - your avatar alone intrigued me towards your comic, but the links on your webpage don't seem to be working for some reason.

1) The New Scum (http://www.thenewscum.net)
2) Two stoners and their comic books, supported by a major university. Done following the footsteps of Bill and Ted, Wayne and Garth, Cheech and Chong, every famous duo, come Wade and Patrick, two students at Washington State University. This is a print comic as well, and has a lot to deal with the college town of Pullman. Pop culture and political references are common. Fairly lighthearted and not scared to be obscene (two words for you: Schindlers Lust.) Some strips and news posts are definitely not safe for work. Avast mateys, there may be boobies and drug references!
I'm a new artist who hasn't really had much in the way of schooling or experience... but i'm learning and i've got a nice little style thing going.
Also: beware the guest-book! We've been hit hard by the porn-bots and it not be pretty!

Luke, your avatar made me think of orange juice. I don't know why. But I bought some. 7-Eleven quality fruit juice is underrated.

I've got a comic
http://peachykeen.tk
I'm thinking about starting to update again... I just might if people start reading

I suppose now is as good a time as any to try my hand at self whoring...
Random Assembly is a partial journal comic that is drawn for... well, it's drawn for no good reason, really... and has been an experiment in online comic making for three years now. Currently Random Assembly is hanging out with the biscuiteers of Biscuit Press.
Hey, if I'm going to whore myself, I might as well whore my friends as well.
Woo woo!

Not Included (http://not-included.net)
This comic is about adventures with a magic cow. It's currently in the middle of a rather actiony arc, but tends to concentrate on strange journeys and random laughs. It also changes art styles far too often because my attention span is negative.
-
down to business: http://www.jewelvixens.com
PG-13
I don't typically self-whore my comic... Then again, my comic's page is a sickly purple haze not of my design, with the quaint subtlety of a hit counter and all the culture of a petri dish...
Jewel Vixens takes place in the 1970's and is intended to be something of a spy parody/action comedy. The starlets are eight supermodels turned superspies by the mysteriously well funded benevolent organization, "F.U.T.U.R.E.", to combat the diabolical, yet color-coordinated evil organization, "S.P.E.C.T.R.U.M." It showcases anthropomorphic characters and has all the typical blatant innuendo of a good spy film, plus all the awful situations and ludicrous villains of a bad one.
If it sounds rotten, you're spot on.
-
Hey.
I have a comic at http://www.fallcomix.com
It's a sort of gods-and-demons myth in a science-fiction setting. I am aiming for a mood reminiscent of Phillip Dick's work- the idea that recontextualizing an archetype and then changing it at critical points can force the reader to really think about things they would otherwise take for granted. Stylistically it falls somewhere between Sin City and Cowboy Bebop- It's got some of the elements of a space western in it as well. Overall it's a scifi epic that has a fairly different take on the genre.
By the way, I've been reading qc since mid last year when I found it and worked my way through the archives. And just in case I just registered for a plug anyway (as this is my first post) I linked QC from my site, so hopefully my karma is intact.
have a nice day
-
nah, they work. maybe you need firefox.
Maybe I need to be less jumpy. The links are working today. However, it's 2:37 AM, so I shall browse your archives later.

I'm not really a web comic artist...except for one thing. I do draw a comic. Irregularly, but it amuses me. This comic is hosted on my company website (Which is currently undergoing maintainence and redesign). To be honest i'm kinda whoring my site through the comic, not the comic itself. I only hope someone veiws it, sees what my site is hoping to accomplish, and is interested enough to contact us to learn more. One can only hope. So please do look at the site, and by all means glance at the comic. Comment, I'd appreciate feedback.Truth be told I am rather proud of the progress I've made art wise in the past 5 months. It doesn't at present have a story line and it's not faboulous, but i like it. It's mainly dumb things myself or my friends have said and done. the first ... 5 are mainly inside jokes, aimed at mocking my friends and myself, so hopefully their lack of humour can be forgiven. Since then people have requested character development and plot driven stories, so I've decided to give it a shot. However the comic is slow going as I am focusing on other aspects of the business at the moment, along with working a "real job". I appologies for this big block of text, but jeph did ask for one paragraph.... Please visit

I... liked the way there were actual food stains on your comics. Who said postmodernism isn't good taste?

I write and draw Pinch of the Glass, which is based in England and concerns an underfunded immigration control department who deals with the supernatural. You'll have to see for yourself, you'll get the idea- and there are tanks!

It's about an interplanetary garbage man.
I think you need a better description than that. I was gonna skip past your comic until I saw the banner(which looks great). So if anyone skipped The Fall because of the description like I almost did please go back and give it a looksee, s'pretty nifty

The New Scum (http://www.thenewscum.net)[/quote/
God title! Warren Ellis would be proud.

Oh man, oh MAN. This thread is procrastinating gold! It's even stopping me from going to bed at the mo. Must...click...links..

I have a comic called "Before Sleep" which I draw every single day and update in a batch on Mondays. Content varies depending on mood and available energy each night. There are occasional continuing stories, such as the current pirate story. I also have some other one-offs (including two 24-hour comics) and more at my site: http://artforest.org/colin. They tend toward the whimsical and surreal, in a somewhat cartoon-y style. Hand drawn B&W.

Hello, all!
If you have a chance, check out my version of a webcomic - it's on blogspot because they provide such lovely free hosting. There are pictures with little accompanying blocks of text. Some longer than others. It has... skeletons. And veins. And it's the pictures that live behind my eyelids when they close and what drips out of my fingertips when I leave the valves open.
And I think it's funny as hell. Hopefully one of you will like it. Please let me know! Post some comments!
Check out the archives on the right - I love SKULL COCAINE and GENERIC CANNED VAMPIRE and PRESIDENTIAL ACTS and... well... really all of them. There's a bunch. Haven't posted for a bit since I just went back to grad school and it's kicking my rear. But now I am working on a project called DanseBand Macabre about a... macabre band... that plays... dance music.
http://krokadil.blogspot.com/
Peace -
p.s. - I have read Questionable Content for a long time and would like to thank Mr. J Jacques for his great f***ing comic, and for giving his readers a chance to get some of their work out there. That's class.
-
Technopagans is a story about some twentysomethings who are drawn together as they realise that there is more to life than anyone ever told them ... well that's the idea. It's suppose to be funny and/or touching.
-
Wow, Jeph, if you get this far in the list I'll be impressed and honored. (Same goes for anyone else who got here.) Thanks for the opportunity.
My comic... well, it's a mumbo-jumbo mess that updates Tuesdays and Saturdays. Primarily, I write Get Outta My Head, ongoing strips about two women named Lila and Marin who work in the IT department of a big company doing tech support -- but it's more about Lila and Marin than it is about the job. GOMH also sports regular appearances by yappy terriers and a Jesus-in-a-box statue.
Interspersed with those are Idiocy on the Internet comics, where I make fun of AOL and Yahoo and sites like that for stupid headlines they wrote. Think "Jay Leno's Headlines". Oh, and some random sketches make it on occasionally too.
The comics are here (http://www.kirabug.com/category/comics), and the latest comic posts on the homepage with my blog at http://www.kirabug.com. Warnings for foul language (mostly in the blog) and a warped but not unkind look at Christian mythos, but nothing NSFW (yet).
-
I draw a little ditty called the midlands (http://themidlands.net/). It is filled with angst, nudity, foul language, and shoddy world-building, but some people like it, I guess.
-
I'm the writer for a webcomic called Mainstream Insanity. In a nutshell, it's about the madcap hilarity and snide comments that arise when superpowers, mall foodcourt chinese food, cloned security guards, beautiful women, and a couple of slackers are all thrown together.
Granted, the first couple are a bit rough, but we got most of the problems ironed out pretty quickly. That is, until my buddy, the artist, broke his hand. So yes, it hasn't been updated in a while, but that's about to change! Trust me!
Check it out at: http://www.msi-comic.com/index.php4?comic_id=1&page=1

(Also, I'm really enjoying that "8 1/2 by Eleven" comic! Kudos to "tedzee" for being all-around awesome!)
well thank you!
:)

ZOMG update. link's in my sig. I think I'll be doing the three-panel thing from now.

I think you need a better description than that. I was gonna skip past your comic until I saw the banner(which looks great). So if anyone skipped The Fall because of the description like I almost did please go back and give it a looksee, s'pretty nifty
Hey, thanks for that. I'll go back and change it. I've been getting a lot of hits from here- I think i may just owe mr. Jacques a fanart ;)
By the way, I saw your comic on Eyeskream a while ago. Some really great stuff you've got going on there.
-
am i late?
sorry about that, my comic just needed a little twitchin'. But now it's done!
www.schetsman.tk
It's a pencil comic, (due to lack of pc skillz) about hallucinating yourself out of a dead end job.
This is my first swing at this, so you'll have to excuse the lousy... everything.
-
Okay, thefallcomix, your comic kicks so much ass it's amazing. I love the epic feel and the art is beautiful.
-
aw, thanks :)
I'm really enjoying this thread, it's always fun to come across a hip comic you had no idea existed
[edit in response to subsequent post] sorry about that, all better now
-
Thefallcomix, if you're gonna hang around here you should know that the forum rules prohibit images in your sig.
-
ok, so i don't personally draw it or really do anything for it except support it, but two guys i'm close have put together a pretty nifty little comic for the past year or so.
http://mastersoftheart.com
aww, thanks for supporting us. I'm glad you pointed out on our forum that you did this, since your link doesn't appear to have worked i wouldn't have found out by looking at our stats. anyway it appears you've broken two of the plugging rules, not having a working link, and not being a comic creator. it's the thought that counts, but you wouldn't want "the man" and his "rules" keepin' us down. just kidding, well, sort of. I mean, Jeph is the man, that is to say, he is male, but i digress. ;)
In any case, here is a link to my webcomic (http://www.MastersoftheArt.com), Masters of the Art, which i run with my friend Patrick. I'm not sure what qualifies as Not Safe For Work, i guess if you work in a daycare or an old folks home you'd want to be careful. There is some strong language, be it few and far between, and while there is no nudity, there is sexual content.
I don't really know how to describe our comic... it's about two guys and their friends... they lead ridiculous lives based loosely in reality. Not that they live in a whimsical fantasy realm, but they have been known to get in fights with hobo Santa and moonlight as superhero chefs. Just read it would ya?
-
Well I dont feel quite so bad about regirstering just to plug my project after seeing a few other folks did it.
Hi my name is Chris and I am the creator of a brand new webcomic called Shirt Ninja (http://members.fortunecity.com/shirtninja/)
Shirt Ninja is a vigilante, the dark avenger of an Australian Coastal town. The comic has only started, but the story already encompasses several sub-cultural influences, and such issues as Urban Development, crime and punishment, and of course, ninjas.
Because I cant draw to save myself, and the fact that I have a growing bunch of folks over here that are keen to get in on the project, I use B/W digital photo's instead of illustrations...
-
Big fan of QC here.
I do a comic called the longest walk.
It's about the funny things that happen to me, either in my head or with my friends. I'm not sure what else I could say about it.
-
I've been writing and drawing My So Called Knife (http://radewagon.comicgenesis.com/) for a little over a year now.
I don't really know how to describe it. Many have said that it lacks direction, and it probably does most of the time. But I like to think of it as just a funny comic that isn't about video games. Also, it's going through a radical change right now, so, i unno. Read, and I hope you enjoy.
Really enjoyed the strip and the art. hope things are getting better and that you'll be back soon!
-
Okay, I had to switch servers (lucky I did it early on I guess)
my URl for "Shirt Ninja" is now

Well, I don't have much up yet, but I just started.

I made it to the last page!
Since people have actually been posting their Blog comics, I don't feel so bad posting mine - Lunchbox - the NotBlog.
It's linked in my sig, starring me. I've only been going for a couple of weeks and already the art is better. w00t.

I feel slightly bad that this is my first post here and here I am pimping my site the filthy whore I am. well obviously i don't feel bad enough that I won't do it, but still. I feel bad. Just not bad enough.
just click on the banner in my sig or alternatiley just click here (http://www.drasticcomics.com)
Its a comic that ido with my best friend Gill. We have a really good time doing it and I hope you have a great time reading it

I'm all up to wondering when Jeph will start posting his favorites! Or maybe posting them here..?
Guest strip week! I guess it'll be a while longer.. (I remember sending in a guest strip (it never got used)).
So, anyone know when this will come to something, or is it just a forum topic that got dropped?
-
I promise I will look at every submission, and if anything particularly strikes my fancy, I might talk about it in a future newspost
1) There's a shit ton of comics for him to look at and thats gonna take a lotta time.
2) Maybe nothin struck his fancy
3) He said might
If he gave up on this thread I'm sure it'll be un-stickied and slowly descend into Archivia. Worse comes to worse I think everyone who posted in here got a lil attention from the rest of us whoring our comics. I know I gotta healthy jump in traffic and interest in my comic, and I found about 6 new comics I'm addicted to as well :)
So, Patience!
-
Hey, I'm new to the forum, but have been reading QC for a while. And since this is the Comic Plugging Section, I should plug my comic.
It's called Two Amish and it follow characters loosely based on the creators and amusing things in their lives. It starts out drawn in MS Paint because that's what we had access to at the time of creation, but at comic 15 becomes hand drawn, and then starts to maintain a style at comic 31. I had drawing style ADD for a while. Anyway, I hope you check it out and enjoy it.
Any comments you have would be awesome, just email them to the address on the site.
-
Lunchbox! Your drawing is rather cute and I like the layout.

I know I gotta healthy jump in traffic and interest in my comic, and I found about 6 new comics I'm addicted to as well :)

You cant say that and not say who ;)
Name and praise!

Hello, I write a comic which can be found at http://www.cripcomic.co.uk. It's heavily QC influenced, but unlike every other comic on the net it has disabled characters. Cos I'm disabled.
Anyway, my sig says it all!
PS. Feel free to be as objective as you like :)...

Well here goes my webcomic.
It's a humour comic with two furry animals and as the days go by more furry friends join the comic.

Here's another:
http://www.gamesmademe.com
Another useless webcomic about games, techology, politics and life of a struggling IT professional and game addict.
*First series of comics represent real life assumptions regarding First person shooters as being "murder simulators" then other games should have similiar side effects..
Critiques welcome. I'm wanting to get some feedback on my start.
-
http://www.livejournal.com/users/naturerobot/
Nature Robot is a comic about a Nature loving Robot who has adventures in the forest near a city. Currently two nemesis' for our hero have been unveiled. Its got its own little personality if you can get into it.
-
Hey, anyone else find it funny how Jeph broke www.hatesong.com yesterday? Now aren't y'all suddenly grateful he hasn't gotten around to recommending any of the comics from this thread on the main page?
"Oh Jeph, I only kid. You can crash my bandwith anyday!" *swoons*
-
I'm gonna pimp my friend's webcomic called Bad Ideas (http://www.livejournal.com/users/badideascomic). It's a great little strip filled with clever jokes and bad puns. He's been doing it 3-4 times a week for a few months now, and, like most webcomic folks, is hoping that his audience eventually grows beyond his internet friends. And since everyone in this thread is so supportive, I'm gonna make sure to start checking out all y'all's stuff, too.
-
This is a very excitng thread always checking back to see if anyone ever says anything nice about your work.

Turns out it was a combination of the extra traffic and a problem with the PHP script that was causing the server to burn out.
Everything is a-ok now. Anyone who wants to send thousands of hits my way is more than welcome to.

Hey folks! I just started my comic strip - currently called "the plebs", though I'll change that if something better pops into my head. heh.
It's a strip about a group of high school kids, and the various things that happen to them. (it's really origonal, I know! :P) It's mostly just a practice strip, I'm certainly not taking it seriously. S'just for fun.
The comic can be found here. (http://thalass.clockwreck.com) The site is still being built, and there's only one strip, so please bare with me. :) If anyone has any tips, please let me know!
be gentle!

Well, let's see... I have sort of a webcomic about a little dog. It does not pretend to be funny or clever, it's just a cute little dog doing cute little things that may or may not make sense.
I have uploaded just a few strips, but it's daily, and i have planned many storylines (probably way too many).
So thanks if you give it a try! =)

This list is so long I wonder if anyone will ever catch anything down here anymore lol. My web comic is called:
C A S T - T H E - S T O R M
It's the home for the Storm Cast superhero team. Watch as they attempt to act like heroes, try to pick up girls, and insult each other all in the same stroke. Updated Mondays and Thursdays!
If you check it out, I hope you enjoy - it's drawn by me AND my brother - Crazy!

My absurd comic... http://www.thesordidaffairs.net
I've enjoyed quite a few already in this thread. Neat.

Hello, all.
My webcomic is fairly new, having just started in late September. I started reading QC sometime this summer, because of my boyfriend. Got hooked.
Jeph's seen me a time or two on his own LJ where I show up as indigoskynet
I actually registered so I could post my fan art, but how could I resist a "Plug your Webcomic" thread?
To be efficient about this:
Webcomic name: Kismetropolis
URL: www.kismetropolis.com
A few words about Kismetropolis: It's a touch autobiographical in places, but mainly Kismetropolis is about Jamie Kingston -- a dyed in the wool fangirl who discovers that old "be careful what you wish for" adage has come true for her. She discovers her rather mundane boring life getting increasingly weird, and will need all her fangirl skils and talents to keep up.
Work Safe: Right now there is a little language. There's been one shot of a little nudity, but the image itself is no more than PG-13. I can't promise that will remain the case indefinitely, though.
I've got a handful of readers as it is, but more never hurt, right?
I've already found new reads here, even:
On the Rocks
Everyone Drunk But Me
8 1/2 by 11
24 1/2
Boy Genius -- which link I gave to a dear friend who is now telling me she is having to fight and stifle laughter at work.

My brother and I have just started a webcomic that follows the adventures of a robot named Pierrot and an alien named Mozart as they try to make a living as "space minstrels". We are just getting the site put together and looking nice, but at the start of the new year we plan on updating weekly. I would appreciate it if you would check it out and leave your comments in the guestbook.

This is my comic, Cartridge Comics (http://www.cartridgecomics.com)
It's still pretty new as it only started about 3 months ago, but my art style has evolved a lot in the year and a half I've been working on this. Basically we make jokes about anything that interests your average geek surfing the internet, from comic books to action films to video games. The comics are non-sequential, like Perry Bible Fellowship, but just as the aliens keep showing up in PBF expect to see some of our characters making additional appearances.
-
another discovererer of my strip! that's nice to see.
this thread got me hooked on FallComix. Nice art and stuff.
-
"Everyone Drunk But Me" has some nifty-looking art and a lot of humor that I can relate with. I'll probably be reading this regularly now!
-
I've never had any 'big' comic artists/writers comment on my comic. I have asked for comments, and avoided asking for links, because I'm genuinely curious about what some of the big-wigs think of our little project... and nothin'. NOTHIN'!
I'd take an 'It sucks' at this point... at least I'd know that they bothered to check it out!!
:)
-
All I can tell is that I'm getting a lot of traffic from these forums... but nothing beyond that. I did get an e-mail from a fan that is also a QC fan... don't know if they found me through the forums or not.
-
You know your website uses the wrong "then", right? It should be betterthAnyou... sorry. That's the journalism editor in me speaking out.
-
yeah, I know... in usually refer to it as Better than You. But there are two reasons I have an 'e' instead. The first is that its a bit of an inside joke... or I simple can't afford to buy the domain name from the guys who own it. I'mn pretty sure our logo in fact uses 'than.' So basically its become an inside joke amongst my friends and the one confirmed fan that I have. But thank you for noticing!

I know how you feel. Tim Buckley actually told my writer, Lex, that he would take a look at our site when she met him a couple of months ago, but whether or not he actually looked at our comic, he never wrote us or anything even to let us know he did. I'd love to get some feedback from the guys whose daily traffic is in the quadruple digits or more, but most seem to snub their noses at us small-timers. That's why my site is always going to have a link exchange section and I hope to start linking small comics in my blog as soon as I feel I'll actually be supplying them with any traffic.
-
I have a big following from a forum I frequent but apart from that not much.
-
Yeah, a lot of our daily hits on AO come from here.
I'd say it's about 30% from QC, and the rest... no idea. Just random people who read the comic regularly.
In our forums, I'd say probably 60% of our frequent posters are QCers, another 30% are people we know personally, then we have about 10% who are just random fans.
-
I'm getting more and more hits from google... as soon as I get home I can update my website with counters and a commnet board and such. The web guy that's helping me out knows how to do all that stuff and FTP uploads are blocked form his school.
We could always advertise on one another's pages and share the fans we have.
-
At least 10% of the hits I get are searches from MSN and Google, looking for porn. I've hed searches for the weirdest kinds of porn too, including Power Rangers porn!
-
I do two webcomics:
Stripped Books (http://www.strippedbooks.com) — An irregular, non-fiction comic strip in which I cover book- and comics-related events in comic strip form. Previous subjects include Marjane Satrapi, Neil Gaiman, Jon Scieszka & Lane Smith and Stephen Mitchell. The current strip is being serialized (part one of three has been posted), which adapts a panel between Chris Ware, Seth and Ivan Brunetti.
Multiplex (http://www.multiplexcomic.com) — A weekly, digitally illustrated comic strip revolving around the staff of a movie theater. It's pretty much a gag strip, and it's roughly PG13 (not much cussin', no nudie bits... yeah, I know, sorry -- but occasionally there's some off-color humor). It's been running for about six months now, and so there's about 26 strips (plus one strip I did for HER! creator Chris Bishop's birthday).
Yep.
Send comments and feedback to me directly if you want. E-mail's at the sites.
-
We could always advertise on one another's pages and share the fans we have.
Ooh! Ooh! I have an idea! We should totally start a forum of our own, based off this thread, for webcomics creators who are just starting up, and want help and advice and whatnot from other webcomic creators who are at about the same level. Sort of a webcomics support group!
What does everyone think? I say we put the connections we've started making through this thread to good use!
-
Heck, sounds good to me.
-
Ooh, a thread just for whoring! I'm an inveterate whore, so let me just squeeze into the old stilettos...
My comic's name is Monkey Law (http://www.monkeylaw.org). It runs three times a week and features monkeys and sheep. Some profanity and drug-related humor can be expected.
Hope you like it.
-
i've been working on a sort of graphic journal type thing with a friend of mine for over a year now. it's called "surely functional." we just recently decided to put stuff on the web, and maybe i was naive but i had no idea how many webcomics there were out there. somehow inspiring and daunting at the same time.
anyway, he's an amazing artist, and i try to keep up with the writing. we're just a weekly, and we started posting from the beginning of the series, so the stuff going up these days is from last year. but today we posted one of our favorite pieces.
the site is www.surelyfunctional.com i hope you check it out. i've definitely been digging a lot of the work i've found through this thread.
-
http://www.jodys-world.com
Uh, its a comic about me and a couple friends, and there are no women in the strip because I really can't draw women no matter how hard I try. Also I haven't updated in weeks because I've been playing Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing: Wild World. Possibly NWS, but I don't really think so. Also I plan to actually update again starting monday.
-
Heck, sounds good to me.
Like our own DayFreePress/GewdGuys/Eyeskream type thing?
I'd be down with that.
-
The discussion of the forum type thing is now continuing on this thread: http://forums.questionablecontent.net/viewtopic.php?t=8886
And the forum itself can now be found here:

Woot!

Fucking. Amazing.
-
wow. thank you, seriously. we haven't gotten a ton of feedback... great to hear someone say they enjoy the work.
-
I sure know that feeling. My site averages 50-70 hits a day now, with a grand total of a whopping 17 people registered on my site's forums... 17? Out of the more than 6,000 hits i've recieved since I've started watching my site's traffic, only 17 people have bothered to register. And for the most part only 2 of them ever post. I can't understand why people find it so hard to just register on forums and talk once in a while. I'm registered on the forum of almost every webcomic I read, simply so I can give the artist a pat on the back when he does an especially good job.
If anyone here has some advice on getting your readers to start doing more on your site than just laughing at the new comic and leaving, I'd love to hear it.
-
wow. thank you, seriously. we haven't gotten a ton of feedback... great to hear someone say they enjoy the work.
Seriously awesome stuff.
bookmarked!

Howdy.
I draw Ruhopty (http://ruhopty.rabidmailbox.com), a color webcomic hand-drawn and semi-realistic. It's kind of autobiographical, based on me and my friends. We're not funny, but the comic is. My influences include Pvp, Real Life, Mac Hall, and of course, QC. The humor is random, witty, and is occasionally geeky.
I really just started, so any feedback is appreciated.
Thankya kindly.
-
Hey liam, I think the main problem with your comic is it's very washed out. You can have faint lines or pale colours but not both. I think more definite, strong lines would improve it no end :)
-
Yeah, the comic could use some stronger outlines or more contrast in the colors, right now ithe characters tend to blend in with the background.
-
I draw a comic called "Obscured by Species," found at http://www.obscuredbyspecies.com. It's about a world composed of anthropomorphic animals, robots, and some people, too. Gag strip updated three times a week (standard MWF). It features a pants-wearing penguin, a video-game playing monkey, a ninja guinea pig, and a robot who can't draw worth squat.
-
I e-mailed Jeph when I first got my little webcomic online, and he was nice enough to give me a few kind words and some awesome advice. So cheers!
Anyway, uh, yeah, just pimping my new webcomic, Motivationally Challenged :D It's a slice of life/humour thing so far, although later it'll involve more than that. So please, take a look and let me know what you think!
Motivationally Challenged (http://www.webcomicsnation.com/nick_diaz/motivationally_challenged/series.php)

so, this may not be the kind of feedback you're after, but, i gotta say, the dude with the blue hair has the best webcomic sideburns i've ever seen. illustrated facial hair is my passion. fruit. passionfruit.
-
Howdy, my name is B. I did a comic for a while called Cavemonster and now I'm on to my second project.
I am a Rocket Builder
I wanted to do a lot of different kinds of work. Rocket Builder is split into four separate comics that will all tell one story with Richard Brautigan, Jean Michelle Basquiat, and Bones the cat with an eye patch among many others.
Let me know what you think!
-
Hmm, it seems like your website needs a bit of work (the next buttons don't work for me? there are also some messed up links, etc.) but I cannot explain to you how much I dig your art. Clean, great colors, and the style really conveys the kind of story I assume you're trying to tell. I like the lettering, too.
Link me to Cavemonster, please?

Good day. I have decided to plug my comic, The Mulberry Gallows Project
http://www.mulberrygallows.com
Essentially, the comic revolves around intense consumption of tea, badminton, lonliness, and flowers. My apologies if you are looking for video game parody. Posting also allows me take a break from dreaded Rate Laws of Analytical Chemistry, which, I do, and in fact, hate.

-
I've already posted one comic in here, but I ended that comic a while ago. I'm now drawing a comic called Infinite Stupidity (http://www.infinitestupidity.net). It's basicly a slice of life comic revolving around gags. Plenty of those around.
I've also started up a webcomics commentary site, along the same lines as WebSnark (http://www.websnark.com) which is going to be written by cartoonists. I'm still getting it off the ground That can be found here (http://blog.infinitestupidity.net)

My comic is called EP Comics (Link=http://epcomics.comicgen.com).
EP is a gamer comic with a few off-topic gags. A storyline will be popping up evenutally, but the project has just started. There's nothing too bad on it, but some may find it offensive, and I wouldn't highly reccomend visiting at work. Again, there are no explicit images, but it's not exactly for kids. Thanks for your time
-
I have one suggestion for you. If you're going to go with black and white like that, I'd suggest thicker line art. It's slightly difficult to catch all the detail with such thin lines.
-
Thank you, and we will be alternating between coloured and black-and-white until we get the hang of this. We are, after all, still in grade 12, so we've gotta learn to juggle this with school. Thanks for the constructive criticism!
-
Hello, I draw Fodi (http://www.baldninja.com).
Beneath a thin shell that appears to be some guys and their adventures, I've got an evil plot going on between several sides. Mostly I try to tell a story through jokes. There are some clichés. Zombies factor in a bit. As do ninjas (Though not too much, despite what you might think from the url). I've also got a winged girl who isn't quite socially adept, having been accidentally created without any sort of social or moral guidance.
I can also never properly describe the comic.
Comments and criticism welcome. I'd like to grow.
Thanks for checking it out.

Hi All,
I wrote Suzie View back in 2004/2005 and now I'm taking another shot at syndication with a little something called Avalon Alight (http://www.avalonalight.com). What's it about? Well, it's your typical gag-a-day mystery comic in which the main character only knows as much as the reader, so if I told you what's going on it would definitely spoil the fun. Wacky amnesia fun! :)

Hello! I'm Matt and I draw a couple of webcomics but I update one twice a week, I work on it to wind down from work.
It's called Chip Shop Adventures (http://www.mattsandbrook.co.uk/comicscsa.php?x=50)
It gets updated on Wednesday and Friday mornings.
EDIT ACTION: Woo! Made it all the way to 50 strips! You can all have cake to celebrate!
Cheers!

Hi Jeph, hi everyone!!
I just wanted to say hi and say that I've been reading the archives for the last week or so, and it's a damn good comic!! Some of the most in depth characters I've seen. Admittedly I don't get a lot of the indie music jokes (sorry, but I'm a through and through greb/rocker) but it doesn't detract anything from the comic!!
I do have a webcomic, called Battle Barge, and if you want to take a look, it's over at http://battlebarge.hughesd.co.uk. I'd appreciate any hints and tips on drawing the characters, especially hands. I've been getting a few tips, but I think QC probably has the best anatomical figures I've seen on a non-manga webcomic...
A chap named dingareth from the Golden Throne forum mentioned QC to me and asked me to put a linky button on the comic site, which after reading a couple dozen of the strips was only too happy to do!
Oh, and check out http://www.the45rebellion.co.uk. they're a band a mate of mine is in, and I checked them out at a pub gig last Tuesday and they are damn good!!
Sorry for waffling a bit! Thanks for reading!!
Dave.
-
hey everyone!
my name's connor, i'm new on the forums, and i thought that i might as well take advantage of this little comic posting thinger, and post my comic!
so yes, my comic is called Super Rad! The comic is about two guys, Samuel and Conrad, who discuss many things, from philosophy to, ahem, toilet humor.
i'm frightfully sorry about the artwork. i only had a limited time to scan them at my friends house, so i drew them up in around a half hour and now am forced to work with the same three images in every comic. it's hard to make things funny without props or a general storyline! but i will try my hardest if i can get votes on topwebcomics and buzzcomix.
so, feedback would be appreciated, and thanks to anyone who checks out the comic!

The Way it Should Be (http://www.kirbo.thejefffiles.com)
Do you like copy pasted stick figures and sadistic wit? No? Oh.....
-
Hey-hey, I must first admit to being a QC newbie. I learned of QC only ten days ago when Mitch Clem mentioned Marten's ongoing sexual frustration in his livejournal. But in the following 3-5 days, I began at the beginning and read every single installment. I got hooked. I'd read NN2S and Joe and Monkey for awhile, but Jeph really got me addicted. Eventually, I decided to get in on the action. So Jeph? You inspired me! Consequently, you are responsible (good and bad) for everything I do. ;)
My comic really has no name, but I will call it Above Bored. (it's a play on words.) The principle characters are myself and my girlfriend K. Whats the premise? Being a philosophy student who is afraid of going out into the world and getting a job. Nietzsche likes to make appearances too, but thats just me.
Not being a great techie, I dont have any fancy webpage. Just a livejournal and photobucket.com. So here is a link to Above Bored. And a SPECIAL issue dedicated to QC readers. I draw the comic by hand, scan it, and use MS Paint. So, no colour. (that's right, i'm Canadian.)
Anyways, thanks for the opportunity Jeph! Keep up the good work!

Hello everyone.
I'm Sean, and I'm the artist for Cute Ninja Girls.
Quick synopsis: Hanna and Kay, two ninja sisters living in the major metropolitan Boston area, are told by their grandfather (whom they didn't even know existed) that a great evil force is coming, and their family is the only thing that will be able to combat it. Naturally, they don't believe him, and go about their lives. This evil force, the demon Gul'Jagen, is inadvertantly released from a one-thousand year imprsionment by a young archeologist who was only brought along as a sacrificial lamb. He brings the demon back to his home in Boston, where Gul'Jagen spends most of his time dealing with a thousand years of culture shock. We focus on the lives of the characters rather than the inevitable conflict, addressing issues like Hanna's animosity with a co-worker, Kay's constant career difficulties, and Gul'Jagen attempting to understand the power the Red Sox have on the city.
Check it out, and let us know what you think. I'm currently tinkering with the art style, so keep that in mind as you go through the archives.

'sup nuckas
i don't think this qualifies as a webcomic, but i started a livejournal to display a comic strip that i may or may not be submitting to my school's paper. it's still very young and i'm eager to show it off to people, and/or wouldn't mind just getting some pals to pal around with on livejournal.
http://tomselleck69.livejournal.com
also i guarentee the art will improve in the future. i've just been cranking them out in little 10-mnute bursts. i can really draw, i swear. i just... y'know...
-
my friends have put together some of their comics on a website
www.eyetrauma.net
it ranges from horror comics to sci fi. i have one on there that gets updated every 2 weeks. it's called dullsville. it's very perverted and childish.
i did want to let you know we are just starting out, but eventually we'll be looking to add more creators coz i know the guys who run it wish they had more content. so if any of you guys are interested you should check out the site and email some of those guys

Pluggin the Separate Ways (http://wakewalking.com/separateways).
It's my new 'daily' comic about life after breaking up. The comic itself is still in it's early stages as far as number of available comics to read (10), but it's daily, so if you like it enough to bookmark it and stick around, you'll have something to read everyday. If you catch on now you'll be in just in time to get introduced to the additional characters.
This is my second comic venture, my first was/is Wake Walking (http://wakewalking.com/) which is a team project between the artist Lee Fleming and myself, but our work schedules are too varying to team up for a good update schedule, so my writing exercise goes to Separate Ways now, and when Lee sends me a new Wake Walking comic page to color and work on then I update that. Either way though, I make sure there's a buffer for Separate Ways and it'll always have it's daily update!

Quite possibly the worst comic ever.

Thought I'd throw my comic on here; always looking for a little feedback. It's called Nuclear Powered Toaster (http://www.npt.suizcomix.com), and it's sort of a light-hearted look at a rather dark future. Or at least that's the catchiest way I've come up with to describe it.
-
This is a plug for Press Start. We're a gaming based webcomic with a trio of repressed male nerds who share a house. I hope this doesn't sound familiar already, but we promise to tread new and exciting ground the more comics we add. Feel free to post on our forums and let us know how crappy our art and writing are. Or how awesome we are, if you want to be generous. We take it all.

Wow Jeph, you really have a lot of comics! I had QC recommended to me not long back and I've been hooked ever since! Although I am STILL not through all the archives (up to #463). Anyway, QC, along with a bit of Ctrl-Alt-Del, inspired me to start drawing my own webcomic. It's pretty random at the moment, with the main characters being 'Bob' the Leet Nazi and some random Zulus (only 5 comics so far) but I'm hopefully getting a proper storyline going soon! Its pretty violent so far (Bob has died in every comic) but hopefully that will change soon too! Anyway, I would love feedback, and I have my own forum for it! Hope you enjoy it!
Undesirable Information (http://james.mcpaa.com/webcomic/last.htm). (I'm hoping to come up with a new name soon). Oh yeah, updates are random, as I'm busy with Year 12, but usually once a week or so.
Please please please tell me what you think I really want to improve... stuff.
-
First I became hooked on Order of the Stick, then someone introduced me to QC, then Ctrl-alt-del, and pretty soon I was very addicted to a bunch of really great webcomics.
The more I read, the more I realized that I wanted to make one of my own. Problem is, I knew the whole drawing thing would really stand in my way, what with not having much talent, or patience for said lack of talent.
Then one day, while going through some boxes of junk, I realized I had quite a collection of action figures. A disturbing number, really, for a man nearing his 30th birthday. That was when an idea started forming in my head that would become:
"misplaced" (http://secretidentitycrisis.com/misplaced)
It's still an infant as far as webcomics go, having only just started it in January, and am only 13 episodes in so far. It's partly a parody of a current popular television show, but I'm making sure to keep it as its own entity as well.
I try to update every monday, and I'm still working on the rest of the website, so there's no forum or other bells and whistles at the moment, but I hope to rectify that in the near future. I'm not really out to become a webcomic sensation, as the market is pretty flooded. I mostly do this for myself and a small group of friends who seem to think it's alright.
Thanks for checking it out, those who do, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy making it.

Well since I uploaded my 5th page today, I feel it's time to start some deliberate pluggin' of my comic. It's called The Vanguard (http://thevanguardhome.com) and it's a combo of the superhero and sci-fi space opera genres. I always loved super-team comics like Justice League, Avengers and X-Men and I also enjoyed Star Trek and Star Wars. So I created a comic that I hope will reflect the best elements of both.
Check it out and let me know what you think.

so a couple years ago, my friend jerrit wrote a story about the end of the world. civilization kinda falls apart, and he and a group of our friends (including me) band together to survive. i just finished the prologue (all of 5 pages) and am in the midst of drawing the cover for chapter one. it's called De Svaga och de Starka, 'the weak and the strong' in.. sweedish? something like that, jerrit knows it a little. anyway.. please check it out, i'd love any thoughts or suggestions.

a brief description : Bob exists as a comment on modern life and sensibility. Whether comic, sad, or even pointing towards philosophy, there is a strong sympathy for Bob in each work, as he struggles to make the best of each situation. It is this bond with the character that makes Bob so memorable.
Bob also shows us a refreshingly bright side to human suffering, by reminding us that pain is something everyone has to deal with. Even Bob.

Anyway, hope you like it, and please leave any feedback here, or on my website directly. Thanks!!
