Ok, here's the deal. I'm trying to burn several (about 40 or so) video files to a DVD, but the burner i have will not convert RMVB files, only avi, mpeg, and mpg.
I need to find a free (im not made of money dammit, christmas is coming!) converter that will turn my RMVBs into one of those types, without seriously deteriorating the quality, or putting an annoying watermark on it.
Also, this can be used to discuss the merits of different converters.

I can't help you.
I do have a video-conversion question though:
Downloading a bunch of anime right now, and the files are in .ogm format. I can't get the proper codecs to make Windows Media recognize it... and I've even tried a few different players which are supposed to work great for viewing .ogms, but nothing is working!
Any suggestions...

RMVBs are still kind of a nightmare to work with. I assume you are converting Japanese TV/Commercials? If so try using EO Video Software :

Here is a guide for dealing with .ogms. Works great for me.

Download Zoom Player and download the codecs from the site. They have all you need such as ogm for your dual audios and mkvs.
Here's the link: Inmatrix-ZoomPlayer (http://www.inmatrix.com/files/zoomplayer_download.shtml)
The OGM codec can be found here: OGM (http://www.inmatrix.com/zplayer/formats/ogm.shtml)

Does anyone know of a converter that will change AVI files to MPEG?!?
I wanna edit some AVI's on Adobe Premiere Pro but it doesn't recognise them (even though it's recognised them before when I made a film at my friends house...)

This is not an ideal solution but I deal with avi's by opening them up in quicktime and then exporting to some other file format.

An AVI is just a wrapper around a different format. Could be MP4, could be XviD, could be 3vix. Gotta find out. Grab GSpot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/) to figure out what it really is.
