The Value of the Questionable Content Series.
« on: 24 Oct 2010, 22:54 »

If each book is sold with the same volume and same price, the entire series as of the latest update is worth $106.86. Doing the reverse math, every individual comic in the series is worth $0.06.

I am happy to have wasted your time with these worthless numbers.

Don't confuse price and value!

And did you take account of the fact that the book has none of the guest comics?

Hrmm. Discounting guest comics would lower prices then...Darn. DIdn't consider that.

Ah well. I'm only a margin of a dollar or two of then, neh?

It would raise the prices.  Fewer comics per dollar = more dollars per comic!

It all depends on where the first book actually ends.

If the last comic in Vol. 1 is before the arc where they go to see the new apartment, then the value does decrease slightly to about US$0.0567.

If the last comic is actually strip #300 (The Furtive Booty Dance), then the value is set correctly at US$0.06 per strip.

By the way, not including the two "remade" strips, there have been 1,710 "actual" strips produced. I haven't counted the YB or the OMG Turkeys/Eagles out of those strips, though.

I think yelling bird strips count.  Jeph uses them like filler, but there's frequently a (crude) punchline.

I hope that someday, Jeph starts doing indietits again and eventually creates enough strips to fill a book with, along with the Yelling Bird filler strips from QC and OMG Turkeys.
