There's no way anyone could beat that set up. Especially if Andy Dick and LL Cool J switched off the narration every other sentence or so. Maybe every other word.

What about a Wes Anderson/Jeph co-direction? I think that would yield some pretty hipster-pleasing results.

Reading this thread just whapped me over the head with a terrible, terrible idea. Anyone remember the Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery episode of South Park?
Now imagine Marten, Faye, Dora, Raven, Steve, Ellen and Pintsize doing that. The Indie Rock Gang, going from town to town, listening to groovy indie concerts and solving radical mysteries!

Azura Skye for Raven

She has the bizzare high cutesy voice that would be perfect for Raven's lines.
I agree with Shannon Sosamon for Dora and Birch for Faye.
I'd also like to throw in a Colin Hanks for Marten.

faye - please. ANYONE but thora birch. someone suggested linda cardinelli, someone else said anna paquin. both are fine choices. just...not thora birch.
dora - ehh, okay, shannyn sossaman. i barely even know who the hell she is.

steve - seconding eric szmanda
ellen - may i suggest amy adams from junebug?

hannelore - i can see brittany murphy doing it, she's kind of an oddball. given the right role, i'm sure she could do well.

Definitely more suited to the format. Each episode would actually cover 30 minutes (in other words, real-time), so that the story would move along at the same pace as the comic. You can't condense QC into 2 hours, it just wouldn't do it justice.

I could more see this whole thing as a cartoon series, the way the story unfolds it wouldn't fit a movie, plus everyone no matter the cast would be dissapointed by who was playing who, it's much easier to just cast voices and still have fans be happy.

Also Billy West as Pintsize, for any of you who have seen the original pilot of Invader Zim, I can totally here West's ZIM voice coming out of pintsize.

I can see it working as an animation more than a film. With an animation, we'd keep the images of what we know the characters to look like, and not have them ruined by bad acting.

And I totally agree with Shannyn Sossamon as Dora, skinny dark hair, hot. I don't know her acting skills, but she looks the part at least.
