Chances are, any game you download that isn't for the PC is going to need an emulator, because it would be difficult to change the filetype of the game into something that the computer could run on it's own without it getting buggy.

So get an emulator, there's a lot out there that you can get for free. Read the readme file that comes with it.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

As to the getting help from people, you're best off asking them to PM you. That way, links don't get posted, Jeph doesn't get sued for people "using his site in the assistance of copyright law infringement", and QC and its forums go on till the end of time. Plus, there a number of ROM sites (that I've come across at any rate) that run hentai and porn ads, and posting links that could lead a minor to viewing pornography is for NO.

Buy cheap console. Gamecubes are cheap second-hand - very cheap. Buy Mega Man X Collection - play all the games. Avoid further questions of a legally ambiguous nature.

Emulators are the legal part of the equation (Zophar.net has plenty)

ROMs are highly illegal and if that's what you have you best run boy because the swift Hammer of Nintendo Justice is coming for you.

Best SNES emulator around:

www.zsnes.com

Don't get involved with the community, though.  We are all highly messed up individuals.  (I started using the internet [you know, like, message boards and IMs and stuff] because of emulation questions and started at ZSNES and have been scarred ever since.)

BTW, don't ask for the actual ROM images of games, because that is strictly verboten by the law.
