Thurston Moore interviewing Beck and Mike D.

That was one of the coolest things I have ever seen.  The part when Beck throws his shoe is priceless.

That Talking Heads one is brilliant.

One of my favourite music videos would have to be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlCG6h66U9w&search=beck%20devils%20haircut">Beck - Devil's Haircut.

Rather than start a new thread, I guess this sorta belongs here
While I was hanging around at a friend's house, I made him dig out a bunch of his old VHS tapes for us to watch, namely the rare Frank Zappa stuff that he has collected and traded for over the years, as he his the oldest and biggest FZ fan that I know. You can't see an inch of the wall in his room, it's all just Mothers tour posters and Zappa photographs. Anyway, there were two gems that we found: one was this preformance where Frank let John Lennon and Yoko Ono sit in, which is absolutely painfaul yet hillarious to watch because Ono rudely does her bizarre Ono warbling through the whole thing seemingly without a care for what's acutally playing.

The second was a somewhat timid (or star/Steve-struck) 23 year old Frank, who looks exactly like that one picture that's used in Ruben and the Jets, on the Steve Allen show showing Steve how to play the "bicycle" as well borrow the band to conduct his own non-tonal bicycle driven concerto.

I found some of the former on youtube, though I really wished I could have shared the latter instead.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LR9vLT_KsxI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdvKgQ0ZxvI

Though sadly it doesn't include a cute part where Lennon is delighted to find out that Zappa lets him use his unique conducting motions (ie. flipping the band off to signal for them all to make a high pitched sound) to mess with the band, and Lennon totally goes nuts with it.

I've read about that performance numerous times and I've always wanted to see it. Thank you! Does ith ave the part where they cover Yoko Ono in a big black bag?

Also, if I ever get a band together I'm totally using hand signals.

Apparently Sopor Aeternus has started doing vids, and they'r everything you'd expect:

Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows - The Goat

Also, someone seems to have posted most of the Since Yesterday vid by C93. It's pretty fucking lush. Some highlights:

Current 93 - Happy Birthday Pigface Christus

Current 93 - (This Ain't The) Summer of Love

I MUST see C93 live. Especially after that first vid.

Also, scariest thing to ever come out the eighties:

Strawberry Switchblade - Since Yesterday

The colours. The 'dancing'. The clothes.

I love it.

Heh...a couple of years ago, I was in an American popular music class and we did a presentation on the intersection of art & music.  I decided to play this little Nine Inch Nails - Happiness in Slavery video . It was totally a "high school" moment played out in college, but it was worth it to see everyone's reactions.[/url]

Swans - New Mind

In addition to the kickass song, Michael Gira looks awesome in a cowboy hat.

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

It's not quite as good, but the Swans cover is also well worth hearing.

Stooges - Fragments of TV Eye and 1970 (live in 1970)

That footage is great, but it's a shame the entire songs aren't shown. Hell, it's a shame the entire concert wasn't shown.

Sonic Youth and Iggy Pop - I Wanna Be Your Dog (live in 1987)

I love this one. Not as good as the original Stooges version, or the Sonic Youth version on Confusion is Sex, but it's a great video nonetheless.

Television - Venus (live in 1993)

Television - Foxhole (live on TV in 1978)

Ramones - Loudmouth (live in 1975)

Pearl Jam- Do The Evolution

I can take or leave Pearl Jam as a band but this is a fucking good video- Todd McFarlane animation taking in dinosaurs, the holocaust, slavery, monkey experiments, Brave New World, WW1 and the apocalypse.

Someone just recommended I watch this, and I agree...I'm no particular fan of the song (it's not terrible, but not my thing), but the vids so goddamn good, that actually doesn't matter.

I'm guessing they didn't want to make the list too much of an act of Spike Jonze worship. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_Jonze#Music_videos" target="_fresh">Jonze's videos are pretty much routinely awesome.

Cheers to the original poster, I'd been looking for the "One Rode to Asa Bay" Video for years, never thought to check you tube :) Here's a few of my favorite videos

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1457031438915997130&q=therion

Therion - Birth of Venus Illegitima

I don't know what it is about her but I find Martina Astner incredibly sexy in this video, she's not the most atractive singer out there but the way she dances is just so sensual

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82j69BcBj88

Samael - Jupeterian Vibe

Great song and the video is pretty good as well, not high budget or anything, but still pretty decent, I love the shot towards the end with the fish swimming pasts the camera.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iEumr2P50o

Melechesh - Hymn to Gibil

Black metal from Israel, this is old melechesh before Proscriptor joined and they still wore corpse paint, pretty intense video I love the ending

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ce0LtolCsLc

At the Drive-in One Armed Scissor

I really like this clip, not sure why

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBfxOnhjVmk

Megadeth - Peace Sells

Classic song, I love the video too "Turn on the news" "This is the news!"
