I've been listening to their song "Star" constantly these past few days. It's heavy, but it still sounds almost emocore-ish, like Braid or something. Sweet band.

As a Jesu fan I must say this:

THE FIRST EP JESU RELEASED, HEART ACHE, IS THE BEST JESU REALESE TO DATE.

I just needed to say that. Their self-titeld album was kind of a let down (although it has some exallent song), and thier new EP Silver is rather good.

Hah, I was just going to mention the EP. After hearing it I suspected that the full lentgh would be a double album. That'd result in some amsuing reactions I'm sure. "It's two cd's, and eight songs. WTF?"

Emo-core is not a real term.

Considering the fact that emo is supposed to be short for emotional hardcore (who likes oxymorons?), would emo-core be emotional hardcore... core?

Emo-core is not a real term.

I remember hearing the phrase emocore years and years before I ever heard it shortened to just emo.
Furthermore, language, especially slang, is necessarily malleable.  You're not arbiter of its existence.

Emocore is redundant, because emo is short for emotional hardcore, even though modern emo has little to do with hardcore...

And yeah, while Jesu is very atmospheric, they are definitely not "emocore" or shoegazer.

Alright sorry I mispelled his name, but I just assumed his real name was Jeff and he spelled it "Jeph" on the internet because that looks cool...I didn't know   Jeph was a real name. My bad.
As per the emo-ish, I'd say the song "Star" definately has some aspects at least.

As far as shoegaze and Jesu go, there's definitely some partial lineage, as far as the regional sound of it...
