I've been drawing since I was a kid (I'm sixteen now), although rarely have I done so frequently or with dedication.  I started teaching myself how to use Adobe Illustrator over a year ago, and just now I'm finishing a college class for the software (I've learned a ton).  I am really really interested in graphic design and visual art in general.

So here are some of my drawings.  All of them except 2 were done from scratch in Illustrator and (possibly) The Gimp, with the help of an Intuos tablet.

http://static.flickr.com/1/131055937_54c0231eff_o.jpg">A monster whose backstory I do not feel like explaining right now.  I know it looks like its limbs are misdirected; that was the look I was going for when I sketched this one.

http://static.flickr.com/52/120037452_cfb19f1bc5_o.jpg">A purposefully disproportionate zombie.

http://static.flickr.com/49/113526516_c99e402f36_o.jpg">A weird, older drawing.

http://static.flickr.com/55/131630614_5037e06fa7_b.jpg">A comic strip.  I could have spent much, much more time adding detail and just generally making this look a whole lot better, 'cause I kinda rushed it.  The heavily gradient-based color job was an experiment.

Most of this stuff is pretty much an experiment in some way.  I usually try new things whenever I draw.  I've had the serious thought of starting a [web]comic for many years now, which I have have a lot of ideas for,  and I've only recently started developing my drawing and learning more about this stuff.

I know that was a lot of random stuff, but I'm just curious to see what you all have to say.

I like the variety in your line thickness - I'm partial to that.

The colouring is nice too - have you tried experimenting with more obvious shading? Not as airbrushed?

Well, here's some new stuff.  I have been experimenting with that!  I suck hard at shading though, so if I can manage to make it look good, it's basically kind of a hat trick.

I'm really happy with this drawing.  I've been reading up on coloring and stuff, and I'm pleased with the way the (first) image turned out.  The character pops, but the background doesn't take a backseat, and all in all I think there may actually be a sense of mood.  Thoughts?

Bump!

Okay, here's something new.  I was experimenting with paint-like techniques in The Gimp.  I absolutely love how this turned out.
